We are new to VRBO, but have been hosting for 4 years. @cozyescapes

The Mackenzie house, named after our oldest daughter and the inspiration for the space. It is a charming cottage located on 4 acres with woods, rock cliffs, and open space. It is the perfect retreat to focus on those who matter most to you. We encourage you to explore the area as well as relax at a home away from home.

We had a great stay over the Thanksgiving holiday. Our family of 5 enjoyed the amenities and rustic nature of this cottage. We were 15 minutes from everything... trails, grocery, dining, etc. The space provided all we needed for some much needed family time.

Perfect Cozy Home

What can I say! This place was amazing! The perfect house for a quick family vacation before everyone heads back to school. We are a family of 6 with two dogs and the size and set up of the house and property were great. We ate out a few times but then decided to cook at home and enjoy the space. Would definitely stay again!

Great Weekend Getaway

Loved staying at the Mackenzie. Rachel was a great host and gave us the thumbs up to bring our dogs with us as well (who may have enjoyed the weekend more than us). It was a great, cozy cottage with perfect amount of charm. We got some hot tub time, a great fire each night, and lots of time to spend with each other. Thanks so much!

Not as expected

The cottage was clean and nicely furnished. The beds were comfortable, but adults sleeping in the second bedroom have to be mindful not to hit their heads on the overhead bunk. We were provided 2 washcloths for a 3 night stay. The house is very rustic. Every footfall and toilet flush is heard throughout, distrubing other's sleep. The staircase is difficult to manage, especially with luggage. It's construction looked amateurish, in that treads and risers looked to not be to industry standards. We live in a 2 story house and are very accustomed to stairs, but these felt a bit dangerous to us. The house is on a paved lane. The lane is wide enough for only one full size vehicle. There didn't seem to be enough shoulder to pull over to avoid oncoming vehicles. Also, blind hills and curves. The yard was overgrown and needed mowing. We stayed one night and left.

Our listing photos do show pictures of the stairs, rustic floorboards/ceiling, bunk beds, and one lane road. The bunk beds were designed to have plenty of space for those on the bottom bed to sit-up completely. We do have extra towels on the shelf in the bathroom. We also have a sound machine. By being off of a one lane dead end road, there is very little traffic and also means there is no noise. We have regular mowing service and do intentionally keep some parts overgrown for a more natural feel. We are sorry it was not the right fit for you. We do hope in the future you thoroughly review listing photos and ask your host any questions you may have.

Girls Weekend/Bachelorette Party

This property is absolutely gorgeous!!! The owners are amazing and so easy to contact for any questions or issues we had, which was NONE! It is close to hiking and a cute antique craft mall. We will definitely be coming back to stay at this property.
