About this property

Wapiti Way: Canvas Tent Glamping 🌲⛺️

Unplug to recharge.

Located in the beautiful mountains of Idaho! The tent has many amenities including solar power, wood-burning stove, a full-sized bed, and a cozy fire pit to gather around.

The tent is NOT suited for people intimidated by camping or using a porta-potty. There is no running water available.

The tent is designed for couples looking for an adventurous experience. Kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking, and hot springs in very close proximity! Does not have lake accessibility.

What is "glamping" and is it right for me?
Glamping is a combination of the terms "glamorous" and "camping". You WILL be camping, but our version of camping is as comfortable as camping can be! Camping- simplified, if you will!

What category do you fall into?

NEW TO CAMPING: this is the best way to get your feet wet! You may be stepping slightly outside of your comfort zone, but not to worry, your comfort is paramount. We have thought ahead and your payoff awaits! We consider this category of people to be in the kiddie pool, you aren't ready for the deep end (buying camping gear, planning, and lugging in supplies). We did all the thinking for you. We do provide a "recommended items" list of things that we can't provide for you but would amplify your stay.

CAMPING REGULARS: Glamping will be next level for you! You will feel right in your element, but no lugging around a tent, pillows, air mattress, blankets, etc. The hard work is already done and a queen-sized bed awaits you! Note to yourself: nothing left to do but reserve and be welcomed to Eagle's Landing!

HYBRID: Maybe you are an avid and experienced camper, but your partner isn't... Encourage your partner to arrive with an optimistic and open mind! Our goal for you is to leave recharged and reconnected!

BEWARE!! Okay, glad I got your attention. If the thought of encountering a friendly bug concerns you, glamping/camping is probably not your cup of tea/coffee. Probably best to stay within your comfort zone and rent a cabin. If "glamping" doesn't provoke the adventurous side of you, more than likely we are not for you (frowny face). No worries let's go our separate ways and remain friends! Glamping is not for everyone, and we understand this! But make us a promise, you will find another way to disconnect/recharge and treat yourself to some much-needed personal time.

WHAT WE PROVIDE:
- An Insta-worthy, nature immersive experience;
- A private camping site (2 of soon to be three) on 3 acres backing up to Lake Cascade;
- 252 square foot, 6-foot wall, 12-foot peak, steel, and canvas tent;
- Queen-sized bed with linens (comforter, quilt, and sheets - of course, cleaned between each and every guest, facepalm for even having to mention this...), pillows and towels provided;
- Firepit with outdoor seating including two rocking chairs around fire pit
- Wood burning stove in the tent. We understand that not every person is comfortable with starting a fire, and we don’t want your comfort to be compromised. We also provide a propane heater that is equipped to heat the tent and enough propane to run for nearly 7 straight hours.
- A porta-potty. The porta-potty is a bit of a trek (aka you’ll be walking in inclement weather and at night- again if this is intimidating we might not be the best fit for you)
- Games, eatery (including bowls, plates, and plastic spoons & forks), wine bottle opener, tongs, can opener, scissors, and spatula;
- A 12-watt solar panel system equipped to charge your phones and any other USB compatible devices;
- All the nature one needs and maybe a little bit of whimsy along the way!

* During the winter months ONLY (Nov through mid-April), we provide firewood and starter logs for the tent stove, but NOT for the fire pit. You will be responsible for firewood for the fire pit and we will provide enough firewood for the tent stove to keep you warm in bed!

WHAT WE DO NOT PROVIDE:
- Electricity. We provide solar, but that is entirely dependent on weather and direct sunlight. However, no need to worry phone charging is available. Again, we are looking out for your best, Insta-worthy pictures;
- Plumbing. BRING YOUR OWN WATER. We encourage you to bring towelettes to clean your underarms properly. We also provide a porta-potty and toilet paper. Per guests "it's not a perfect solution, but it works perfectly."
- WiFi. This is a time to disconnect and reconnect with yourself. Reignite romance, breathe nature, spark conversation, play a board game, make S'Mores. Reconnect and soak in anything but 5G.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING:
- Water, and plenty of it. BYO-H2O. You are less than 5 minutes from a convenience store if needed;
- Cooler and Ice. We recommend 10 pounds/night of ice;
- Propane stove for cooking and any spices that your palette desires! We provide the basics: salt + pepper + olive oil;
- A bathing suit, sunscreen, bug spray, bear spray, and fishing poles;
- A camera phone! You will want to share your Insta-worthy content with your friends and family! And if you tag photos of you and your loved ones enjoying Wapiti Way (@campmodern.Donnelly), we will discount a future stay!
- Umbrellas/raincoats/warm clothes/bug repellent - we cannot control these elements and will not refund for this. Sorry, we hope you understand.
- The right mindset! We realize many of you are camping for the first time and this excites us. Camping is an experience, just have fun with it. The payoff is worth it.

Guest access:
Location: 10 minutes away from Lake Cascade, three minutes from downtown Donnelly, fifteen minutes outside of McCall, fishing right around the corner, and hiking trails surrounding the unit! We are located very close to Gold Fork hot springs (vaccination card required- per Gold Fork Hot Springs).

Other things to note:
Please read the guidebook within the canvas tent. This book contains an abundance of information regarding tent functionality and nearby attractions.

The tent and facilities in the tent were great. The problem is you would expect if you were glamping you would be somewhere remote, this site was on a bit of waste ground right next to a main highway. The road noise through the night was bad. We tried to go for a walk down the lake but couldn’t get through the underbrush. We were pretty disappointed.

Perfect little getaway!!
Wapiti Way was such a great site! Equal parts sun and shade, plus a comfy bed with warm blankets! Definitely warm enough for the chilly nights! I love the attention to detail and the whole experience was very satisfying. Will definitely stay again!!! Thank you Kenzie and Trevor!
