Great house to share with 10 adult family members. Could not find a better location to the beach and night life. The house offers great outdoor space and is very inviting.
We had a wide range of ages from toddlers to great grandparents and we had plenty of room to spread out. Great location for walk to the beach and local stores for morning coffee and some ice cream. We loved using the electric bikes to explore the island and see more sights.
Booked the house with my family for a cousins wedding. Great location - walking distance of everything. Big bright house - great for family to gather. Would book again.
This property is hands down the best VRBO I have ever stayed at. Completely updated interior with plenty of room. Spectacular views especially from the crow's nest (one of only 2 that part of the island!) Just a 30 second walk to the beach. More amenities than you could ever ask for. The electric bikes were a great, fun touch. Would highly recommend renting this house.

I would recommend this property BUT I have a few things that could have been better. NO TOILET PAPER. Even in cheaper rentals you at least get a roll to start out. The bath towels were cheap, tiny and ONE for each guest. Each bedroom should have 4 bath towels... 2 per guest.

Thank you for your review. We are perplexed by your comments regarding no toilet paper as our Welcome Kit that is provided with each rental supplies a 4-pack starter kit of toilet paper. The cleaner and inspector reports both show that the welcome bag was left on the kitchen counter before your arrival. The bath towels are provided by a local linen vendor and the standard package includes one bath towel, one hand towel, and one wash cloth per guest. We hope you will consider a future stay!

This place was great! The location is perfect and it has a well equipped kitchen for cooking everything! There is plenty of space-we had 3fsmilies and we had a lot of room! Also loved the bikes, took a lot of bike rides😊, plus there are beach chairs and a wagon to take all your stuff to the beach which is just over a block away/so close! The only thing was the door to get to the rooftop didn’t work, but maintenance came that day to fix it so that was great, definitely would stay there again!

The property was dirty and worn out and not worth the money .The couch was wet when we arrived and all surfaces of chairs and stools were filthy . We emailed the management group who replied ..yes we know property is dirty and couch is wet but we had no time to get cleaned !
We travel to coast for business and we will never stay at prosperity under this management group. Too many other nice well kept rentals at Wrightsville Beach .

Thank you for staying at Wright St8 of Mind. We regret that you did not have a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, your review is not entirely truthful of the conversation you had with us regarding the issues you brought up. Upon your arrival, you sent two pictures via email with no other message attached to it. Those pictures were of some staining on one part of the stair carpet and the other was of a small spot on the sofa. I replied to you letting you know that we were aware that there were a couple areas that had some stains, and that you would not be held responsible for that. It was not until you emailed again stated something was "soaked" but did not bother to say what that "soaked" something was. I again responded to your email and asked if you could clarify what was "soaked" as our team had walked the property prior to your arrival and had not found anything in such condition. When you responded, you stated that the couch was soaked, and I apologize, but we were not aware of that issue, but you also proceeded to say that you were very busy at that moment and would get back with me to discuss. As you stated you were in town on business and tied up for the day, so I did not respond to you and instead respectfully waited for you to reach out again as you said you would. You did not reach out again, and you checked out the following morning. If we are made aware of issues immediately with both pictures AND a written description or better yet a phone call, we will do everything in our power to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, you never gave us the chance to do so, and instead decided to leave a review that does not fully reflect the condition of this home or our property management company. We always appreciate when guests let us know if there are ways that we can improve our properties and/or services, unfortunately we were not given the opportunity to do either in this situation. Thank you again for staying with us.
There are many great things about this property, starting with the responsiveness and helpfulness of the property manager. The location is super convenient to the beach and shops. The rooftop deck is magical. The kitchen is very well stocked and easy to navigate. There are quite a few downsides to this property as well. It badly needs some TLC. Almost everything that had fabric on it was stained: shower curtains, the couch, chairs, pillows, carpet. It wasn't thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. We alerted the property manager and she came over immediately to document the issues and fix the ones she could, which we greatly appreciated. If the property had been clean and in better condition, I would give our experience staying there five stars.
This house is wonderful! Gorgeous hardwood floors on main level. All the bedrooms are a great size, each w their own closet except for 4th floor. The kitchen is fully stocked (except pot holders...?) including large spice selection. TV has most of the subscriptions you need. The crow's nest on roof is awesome!! And the location, obviously, cannot be beat!!
Upon check-in, I see that while the linens and towels are in the bedrooms, the beds are not made: I have to put sheets on 4 beds before my guests arrive! Kind of annoying, especially for someone paying high season rates (I did not).
Another reviewer mentioned the check-out process being extensive -- I understand a lot of it (trash and recycling out, strip beds, run dishwasher), but to be expected to clean every single last minute dish, cup, snapware, etc before leaving the property seems a bit much, especially considering the cleaning crew arrived exactly at 10am (check-out time).
That said, I forgot to pack one drawer from the master bath (all my medications), and I was able to easily retrieve it from Landmark's office, so that was a huge help.
Size and location good. Some mattresses are too soft and not that comfortable. The master bedroom is by far the choice bedroom. This room also has good bed and mattress. We had various issues with the door locks. One door lock to roof was faulty and door couldn’t be opened. There is a trick to opening other doors that was not obvious to us at least. Service was responsive when we raised issues. We would have liked a kettle. The ironing board was stuck on open position and couldn’t be closed- maintenance was unable to resolve so new ironing board needed. Some extra basic supplies would have been welcome such as paper towels and more toilet paper than provided. Refrigerator water filter needs changing. Tap water tastes awful and would be nice to avoid the need to buy water in plastic containers. This is a beach property but there were no beach chairs. Overall a nice space and attractively decorated and furnished but we thought could be better still.

Hidden costs and frustrations
A group of eight adults from across the country stayed at this property to celebrate the wedding of a close friend. We were surprised to find out that we had to pay separately for "linen service" (towels and bed sheets), which at the time wasn't clear on the listing (though it is now) and it was emailed to us after we had already paid our first portion of the booking. We paid separately for that service (not only for linens but it was also extra cost to have the beds made!). What was also not explained or easily found in the listing was the lack of other amenities. We arrived at the house late in the evening of our first rental night. The check in instructions were not very clear, as there were keypads on many of the doors at the property and it took us a few tries to find the right door. When we entered, there was a small paper bag on the counter. What was provided for our stay was one very small liquid dish soap, two rolls of cheap toilet paper, one trash bag and one paper towel roll. There was no soap in the bathrooms (hand soap or body soap), no bathroom supplies (ie shampoo, conditioner, etc), no toilet paper in the bathrooms, etc. The house felt completely empty, honestly. There were four bathrooms in this house, and the eight of us were staying for four days. We wound up buying all of the above amenities and more to make our stay comfortable and in order to feasibly to meet the hosts expectations at the time of check out regarding the cleanliness of the unit. While we recognize that not every home truly feels like a 'home away from home' on these sites, this one certainly did NOT provide the feeling that we were able to arrive and feel settled for what we expected for the price. The check out instructions that were sent to us the day before check out were extensive and included not only running dishes but also drying and putting them away, for example, which is not usual in our experiences as frequent travelers and house renters. Regardless of whether or not these aspects of a stay are deal breakers for guests, many of the above should be transparent at the time of a booking. We would have appreciated a better understanding of what we were paying for.

At the time of your reservation, guests did have the option to bring their own linens, but this has since been changed as all bookings now include linens. This information was in the listing at the time you booked as well as in a follow up email you immediately received upon booking. Additionally, we have a 60 day cancellation period where guests will get a full refund if they cancel, and based on your specific booking dates and travel dates, you would have been eligible for that had you decided you didn't want to incur an additional fee after initially booking. Our cancellation policy is detailed in the Vacation Rental Agreement that was sent at the time of booking which you reviewed and signed. All the wonderful amenities of this property are included in the listing, such as a fully stocked kitchen, two very nice grills (a Green Egg and a Traeger Smoker), four electric bikes, and very easy walking distance to the beach, Johnny Mercer's Pier, and fun bars and restaurants. All of the details of what to expect with the rental are also clearly outlined in the guest portal app, and guests are even able to share that information to other individuals in their party, which we see you utilized. Details of what are and are not included in a guest's stay are outlined multiple times both prior to booking and before check-in. We're grateful you found the amenities welcome bag helpful as it provides a first day's starter kit including paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags, and more, though as a reminder, guests should bring or purchase their own supplies for the duration of their stay. Checkout instructions are clearly explained in the guest portal app, in a placard that is placed prominently in the house, and in the house binder for all of our guests to easily review. As a courtesy reminder, those same checkout instructions are emailed to our guests the day before they checkout. We strive to provide all guests with ample information to prepare them for their trip and our hope is that guests will use all the information provided to them well in advance of their stay to be able to make the most of their vacation with us! Thank you for your feedback as we always strive to improve our guests' experience.

Beware Cockroaches

We had a horrible stay at this location. The property is VERY worn and not well kept. The property is not in anyways as clean and new as advertised in the photographs. The worst part for us, and which ruined our stay, was that the house has cockroaches. On the day of arrival 10/30/24 at check-in we found one very large dead cockroach in the master bathroom. We called the management company and I was informed by a manager that one dead cockroach is a normal occurrence and there is no recourse or action that could be taken except pest control coming two days later. Well fast forward to the evening of 10/30 we found 4 live cockroaches, 3 on the fourth floor, and one on the 3rd level. I continued to call the management company for any sort of solution including switching houses or money back, but that was not an option. They did however send the pest control company the next day. Fast forward the rest of the trip, after spraying, 2 more living cockroaches were found, one in the king jack and Jill bedroom and one in the second floor queen bedroom. So clearly they are all over. The trip was ruined by these cockroaches as I have two very young children and was constantly worried about the cockroaches getting into our stuff and my toddler crawling near them. Besides sending the pest control company, management did nothing to make the situation better. Making me feel that 6 live cockroaches and 1 dead one is a normal occurrence for them. I did call the management company with every live roach we found, We were told that they are normal for waterfront properties, however we have stayed at roughly a dozen beach front homes up and down the east coast closer to the beach and this has never been a problem. Additionally, the outside living space was disgustingly dirty, the putting green is unusable. This company needs to do a better upkeeping their properties. The towel rentals were not enough, we have had better welcome kits. I wouldn’t stay again even if it was free.

Great location and plenty of room for 7 of us to enjoy ourselves. House was a little worn-ripped carpet, scuffed up cabinets, but was clean and had all the pots and pans needed for cooking. Cruiser bikes were advertised but not there. A rusted bike was outside behind the house but unusable. The starter kit was very chinsy so be sure to bring supplies. Landmark did a great job communicating throughout the stay.

The location of the property was great! Easy access to the beach, restaurants, grocery stores and shopping.We were a little surprised of the size of the property when we arrived, online photos gave us the impression it was larger inside for a family of ten. The overall appearance was ok. The bathrooms seemed clean. We did have a broken towel bar & curtain rod that would not stay up in a guest bathroom. The carpet was older and worn. The dining table had a few chairs that were loose and wobbly. We were never able to get the front door to open after multiple attempts by multi people. The kitchen needs a good organization and cleaning overall! The coffee maker and toaster appeared not clean. The lower lever gate to from the driveway needs a serious repair, very difficult to open .This house has a lot of potential but we felt it needs a bit of updating and overall organizational revamp.

We rented this house because of its proximity to the starting line for the Wilmington Marathon and it was absolutely perfect! BEAUTIFUL home with all the amenities. Within walking distance to the beach and some great little restaurants and bars! They provide a starter kit of toilet paper which isn’t ideal since there are 4 bathrooms and they provide only 2 rolls of toilet paper, so just be aware and bring your own. We also had an issue with the heat on one of the floors not working so we contacted someone and they sent an HVAC tech out as soon as they could. We will definitely be back in the on season to rent for a beach weekend!
