Welcome to where relaxation meets convenience! This cute small cottage is the perfect choice for a friends' trip, couples retreat, or family vacation. Walk only 1,000 feet to reach Sunset Lane Association Beach, a private association beach for the immediate neighborhood only that also allows dogs.

Located in the cute lakefront town of Lakeside, this ground-floor home is surrounded by beautiful trees and lush nature, offering a true 'get away from it all' feeling. Inside, an open floor plan seamlessly combines the living and dining areas and the well-appointed kitchenette. Snuggle up on any of the sofas by the wood-burning fireplace and stream a favorite movie or series on the smart TV. When mealtime comes around, the kitchenette will have your back with all the essential appliances needed to whip up everything, from full-course meals to quick snacks on the go. You can choose to dine indoors or delight yourself with nature in the outdoor dining area on the patio. There is a beautiful screened porch with comfortable seats that leads to the patio.

THINGS TO KNOW
There are four backpack beach chairs and an umbrella.
Streaming is available using your own accounts.
The fireplace is available in the non-summer months.
One non-aggressive, non-shedding 40 lb. dog allowed.
Kitchenette with a fridge, apartment-size stove and oven, microwave, and coffee maker. No dishwasher.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Wonderful neighborhood, great beach access, close to everything! This smaller home is perfect for a small family, my husband and son loved having a home base while spending time with our extended family in Lakeside. Beach ready with chairs, towels, and umbrellas. Good sized BBQ grill too. Wonderful week!

Best location for walking to the beach!

We stayed a week and really enjoyed ourselves with our smaller dog. The location is what makes this house, can be dark inside even with all the lights on. Keep in mind there is no central air, no washer/dryer and no dishwasher. We. would stay here again but the price now doubled and we can do better renting elsewhere for the price with better amenities.

Great house for four adults and one dog. Super clean, easy access, kitchen updated with great appliances, including dishwasher. Kitchen well stocked, minimal spices, etc. Comfortable queen beds- Jack n’ Jill bathroom with only tub/shower being shared space. Comfortable living spaces with porch looking into nice wooded area where deer where seen. Two window air conditioners maintained the house comfortably in 90 degree weather. Lake Michigan only 5-10 minute walk - typical Michigan trail with tree roots occasionally over the dune to set of 70ish steps with rest landing built in. Beach equipment provided was in great condition- 4 backpack chairs, umbrella, and beach towels. Close neighbors were all friendly. This is a gem for small groups.

It was Ok for my needs - a nearby Yoga retreat, so I only slept there , but the place could use a very deep clean, and some small upgrades like lamps with 60watt bulbs for reading. The overall vibe is dark and dismal. Although - which is important…. the bed was super comfy with a nice duvet and a soft pillow (a must for me)

First of all the property is close to Red Arrow Highway. Convenient but sketchy for kids & pets. Decor is retro? But clean. Beach is longer than 1000ft. You have to walk thru neighborhood & then hidden path with roots to get to the 70+ stairs. Cottages are close to each other. Wish air conditioner was in back bedroom away. As it was in back of house, quieter & shaded.

Great cozy lake cabin!

After reading some of the other reviews, I had expected a little less for this property. However, it exceeded our expectations! The house was extremely clean and well stocked. It is a cabin in the woods, so there is a slight stale smell that you get used to after 5 minutes. The house was stocked with everything you need for cooking and for going to the beach. The beach walk was 5-7 minutes, it was a a beautiful walk through the neighborhood and down the stairs to the lake. The beach is so beautiful and not packed since it is private to the homes. We had our dog with us and enjoyed multiple walks on the beach every day. We will definitely visit this cabin again, it was so relaxing and quiet.

BUYER BEWARE

Listing is advertised having private entry to beach. I specifically asked where on property and told to drive 9 miles to nearby public beach. Discovered on last night there while on a walk the entrance is OFF property approx 1/2 mile away. Requested listing be corrected for future visitors and asked for a credit for false advertisement, was essentially told too late we already have your money. Terrible business practices! Cabin smelled musty and dingy, terrible lighting lends to old dirty atmosphere. Anyone looking at this please also note disruptive Amtrak train across highway runs on regular schedule.

Fair stay

Lovely small home with two separate bedrooms with connected but divided bathrooms. Worked well for a weekend get away. We didn't need air conditioning but it looks like this is limited to bedrooms. Kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates, cups, etc. Coffee maker is present but need to bring your own grounds. Probably about a 7 minute walk to a private beach. Location wise very close to nice town restaurants and bakeries. One down side is vacasa app doesn't really let us communicate with owner for questions (we are not dinging the review or owner for this). The reason we are giving four stars is 1) Cost wise we booked fairly late but was probably on higher range for what we expected and 2) not sure this house is used very frequently but just less clean than we expected.

Lakeside Michigan vacation

The cottage was extremely clean and had a very homey welcoming feel. And the location was superb ,walking distance to a private beach! I loved how the bathroom was laid out. Two bathrooms with a shower in the middle. Very close to town a short drive too many restaurants and little antique shops! I will definitely be going back!
