Our 3 night stay at this lovely cottage was wonderful! It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It is a convenient location to all the local restaurants and a very short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

What’s not to love about this fantastic property? We enjoyed the outside just as much as the inside - the outdoor shower rocks and gazebo were great! The wagon for the beach supplies made it easy to haul chairs, umbrella, etc. We will be back !

Rosemary greeted us when we arrived and was very helpful in showing us anything we could have wanted to know! We had everything we needed at our fingertips! Our visit was short so we didn’t have a chance to use the fire pit, but everything we’d need to do so was right there! The part I enjoyed the most was the proximity to nature and the beach! It was a short, relaxing and peaceful walk to McKinley Beach (which was very quiet and peaceful as well)! The yard around the property is also beautiful from the arbor over the entry to the screened-in cabana and outdoor Adirondack chairs. The futon upstairs is almost ready for an update, but the TV provided lots of viewing options. Rosemary and Mike have really thought of everything! I recommend this rental!

Linda, thank you for taking the time and effort to write this thoughtful review! We appreciate the fact that you enjoyed Harbor Country and our cottage so fully. However, we were disappointed to hear that you thought our futon was in need of an update, especially considering that it is only four years old, and at the time, it was the most comfortable and (the most expensive) futon available. In our past reviews guests have praised our futon for giving them a good night's sleep. As a bed it rates highly, but as a couch maybe not so much. Futons have this double-duty job of being a bed and being a couch, and they have a hard time at doing both jobs really well. Nonetheless, we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. You notice so many wonderful things about the area and the cottage. We hope to see you again soon!

My husband and I enjoyed 5 nights at this property. It was exactly as depicted in the photos. It was great to be able to take a few steps and be down at the sandy beach, which was very walkable. It was not crowded at all. The property is in a wooded area so that contributed to the coziness. We didn't really cook, but the kitchen seemed well appointed and had what we needed. Both showers had great water pressure (we are used to "low flow"), so that was a bonus for us! Rosemary was there to meet us and gave a through overview of the property, which was nice. We enjoyed eating at Salty Dog and Hummingbird Cafe in New Buffalo and ice cream at Oinks. Union Pier Social was also good. Overall, this is a great property, especially if you are most interested in being on the beach and we would certainly stay here again.

This property was flawless and the hosts were absolutely delightful. The location was perfect for exploring the beach, Union Pier and New Buffalo. A perfect getaway for a long weekend. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

The cottage was very clean, pretty, and in excellent condition. Loved the landscaping around the cottage and the walkway down to the water—it was so inviting… and such a beautiful beach. I loved it here! The host, Rosemary, was very responsive and spent time orienting and showing us all the different features.

We loved every minute at Rosemary and Michael’s enchanting cottage! Everything was perfect for a restful retreat from our hectic schedule. Rosemary was without a doubt, the most gracious host we’ve had pleasure of booking with. A short walk to a beautiful sandy beach ,gorgeous arbors and trees, cobblestone paths… like a fairytale, just awesome! Wish we could have spent more time relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Beds were sooo comfortable too! Definitely recommend.

May 25-28, 2026 We stayed a wonderful 4 days in the beautifully decorated and well appointed cottage. The grounds are beautiful, and we had everything we could possibly need. We loved the quiet, shady neighborhood, and the short half a block walk to the most beautiful beach around. We had the beach mostly to ourselves, and enjoyed a morning walk along the shore, swimming in the calm clear water, and gorgeous sunsets every evening. Wonderful vacation for my family!

We stayed here for a week with our two young children (almost 5 and a 2 year old) and we had a great time! The location to the beach is perfect and the space worked very well for us. Rosemary and Mike were super responsive whenever we had any questions or concerns. Would stay here again!
