I am an a musician and an artist. When visiting the island I often enjoy playing music (soprano saxophone) with local musician Earl LaPierre (steel pan). We play everything from classical to calypso to reggae. Together we made a couple of music CD's. When not playing music I renovate houses — painting, tiling, kitchens and baths. Although I live in Michigan, I like to travel and make frequent trips to the Caribbean to get away from the cold weather and enjoy the beautiful beach. Looking into the crystal clear water and walking on the beach brings peace to the soul.
Why they chose this property
I chose this condo because I knew it was the best location on 7 Mile Beach. Our quiet little complex is located right between the Ritz Carlton and the Westin Resort, where much of the action is--restaurants, shops, car rentals, beach equipment & boat rentals, parasailing, dive & snorkel trips, exercise rooms, spas, concerts and more. However, unlike the beaches in front of these big resorts, our beach is very special; it's always sparsely populated so you can truly enjoy its soft white sand and calm waters lapping at the shore of the Caribbean Sea. I enjoy sitting on the beach, relaxing in the lounge chairs in the sun or in the shade under the Casuarina trees, reading a book, or just listening to the wind whistle through the foot-long pine needles. Being here is peaceful and rejuvenating.
What makes this property unique
This unit offers a few “little extras” which make it more like home---a washer/dryer for the convenience of my guests; colorful Caribbean art adorns the walls; an exchange book rack (take one, leave one), videos games and puzzles. The bar counter wall is made of local coral and shell which I collected on the beach. The condo is nicely decorated, has 2 pillow-top king beds, a plug-in inflatable mattress for a 5th person, and a fully furnished kitchen (including herbs and spices). It includes all linens, towels & beach towels as well as cable TV, internet, air conditioning, ceiling fans and a balcony overlooking the ocean where you can enjoy dinner while watching the sunset.
