Sturmfrei in Neßmersiel: beach life “in the sunshine”? A unique resort on the Frisian east coast. Attractive recreational opportunities. The extensive entertainment programme can be found in the events calendar.
Railway Museum: During the summer months, you can enjoy a nostalgic Sunday adventure. The trip goes from Dornum Hage northward and back; you can also bring your bicycle along. The trip is operated by a red diesel locomotive built in 1953. On “Steam Weekends,” the train runs with steam locomotive No. 1, built in 1951. Rail enthusiasts can enjoy a former roundhouse from 1912 and a railway museum.
Tideland: Neßmersiel is a “Mecca” for mudflat hikers. From here, most hikes take place along the eastern Frisian coast of the North Sea. Enjoy a guided tour with an experienced guide through the Wattenmeer National Park, Germany’s largest national park, featuring unique flora and fauna. Depending on the season and the tide, you can visit the North Sea island of Baltrum, either by walking along the coast or from Neßmersiel. The return trip or journey there is made by ferry, depending on the tide.
