Great August Get Away!

Tia and Mike as local owners were very responsive and attentive. Property was well maintained and comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans and utensils. Highly recommend this property for a casual lake get away!

Lovely spot

I had a lovely stay with my 2 kids and their spouses. Tia was an incredible hostess. Taking care of all our needs. The lake was lovely and kayaking with the swans was a treat. A nice kitchen.

Great house for family get together

This house was perfect. Clean, well-equipped and roomy. Maybe because early spring, we were concerned about the fecal matter left by families of swans and geese who were present on the beach when we arrived. We did however enjoy the lovely view and paddle boat.

Home to the Rescue!

The host was wonderful! Our original VRBO host cancelled on us last minute due to property repairs and this home’s host Tia came in for the holiday rescue! The house layout was great for hosting our family Christmas get together! Plenty of space and bathrooms! It was wonderful to wake up to the lake in the morning! We will definitely be booking this every other year when we come to Michigan to visit family for Christmas!

We are very saddened that this happened to your group. We put a plug-in camera in the kitchen in plain sight to secure the home if there is a long length of time between guests. When you arrived and you reached out to us about the camera left behind, and we explained the mistake, you seemed satisfied with our response and with placing the camera in the drawer. We were surprised to see this review especially after the issue was handled and you continued to stay in the home without incident days after you found the camera. Again, we are very sorry that this happened to one of our guests. We will not be using indoor security at our homes in the future.

Dirty

The oven was extremely dirty and obviously had not been cleaned in over a year if not longer. The blanket in the master bedroom had dried up snot. I had to deep clean the oven in order to use it for Thanksgiving dinner which took me almost 2 hours. Also ended washing the sheets/blankets in the master room. The view of the lake was very nice and quiet. We had to pick up animal feces in the back yard because my grandchildren went out and stepped on poop. Disgusting

Accommodated our needs, but property a little tired

Property owners were very good to work with and were responsive. Kitchen was well stocked, too. We appreciated being able to bring our dog and the easy rental of the pontoon boat. As stated, our needs were met, however the couches, beds, upstairs bathroom and pontoon are tired. Am sure the property has been used by many and is popular, but a refresh of these areas would be appreciated.

Perfect getaway

This was a great property and really easy to enjoy! Right on the lake and accessible! Kayaks were available and allowed us to enjoy the lake. I am a runner and was able to get my miles in daily throughout the neighborhood while feeling safe. Our children absolutely loved the lake and spent the entire day in the water. We were also able to go fishing and catch some little fish. They were put back in the water, but the kids absolutely loved the whole experience! I am definitely marking this house as one we would love to visit again. Thank you to the owners for being so accessible and available. We absolutely enjoyed our week.

Fits a crowd

I’ve stayed in many VRBO rentals. Overall we had a nice stay here. The property owners were really great to deal with and communication was quick and efficient. The property has a nice view of the lake and can easily fit a larger group or family. The pictures definitely show the property in its best light. I’ll list the pros and cons of the place below. Pros - While the house is on the smaller side it can fit a large group will extra roll out beds, the kitchen is well appointed with lots of cooking pans, utensils, dishes and even spices, the upstairs beds are very comfy, lots of linens and towels great for the lake, the living room area is comfortable with a huge tv, and the property is fairly quiet. Cons- This place was pretty grimy and dirty and needs a solid top to bottom thorough scrub - I had to clean when we arrived and just accept some of it, the house is on well water and you have to space out your laundry, dishwasher and showers which is manageable but the dishwasher is very loud making it tricky to run at night, the downstairs kids beds need new mattresses - we found them so uncomfortable that they were unusable, the upstairs main bedroom has an open cut out wall which gives great views of the lake but reduces privacy and increases noise levels, the yard is very small and you are definitely cozy with the neighbors when out there, well water also requires bringing in your own drinking water which is just something to know. The fireplace wasn’t usable during our stay bc it needed to be cleaned and the upstairs bathroom needs some repair and updates. Ultimately I feel the owners need to do some upkeep to charge the premium price they want but it is a nice space and could be really nice. We made our stay enjoyable and appreciated the responsiveness of the owners in booking and throughout our stay.
