Rustic log barn cabin (1,500 SF) with wrap-around covered deck (3 sides, 500 SF) - originally built as a horse barn in the 70's, was converted to a family cabin in the late 70's. I bought it from my brother in 2020 and completely remodeled it with new bathrooms (2), kitchen/appliances/cabinets, wrap-around deck, bay window and seat, and hydronic heating system. We're in the heart of Quartz Creek Valley with beautiful views all around. This is alos across the street from our other cabin (listed on VRBO) 2 124 Gunnison Street, aka "Island In the Sky". If you're an old pilot you should recognize the significance of the two names we've called our cabin . . .

We had a great time, awesome place! Could use some window treatments for privacy. Overall we loved our stay.

Thank you, CP for your comments. It IS an awesome place. We actually discussed window treatments but ultimately decided against it as we felt it would clutter the beautiful log interior. Also, the perimeter overhang somewhat provides a glare barrier from the outside . . . Thanks, again!
We have been staying at this cabin for years and in my opinion the best VRBO in the area for hunting, hiking, relaxing, or anything you dream up to do in the mountains. My wife stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it! We’ll be planning a family vacation stay this summer.Scott is the greatest host and very accommodating!Thank you for everything Scott!

Thank you, David, for a wonderful review. I think you covered all the bases and I must say I agree with you!
We enjoyed our stay immensely! Purpose of our stay was to hunt fourth season rifle elk but the highlight was our stay at the High & Mighty Cabin. The hunting was hard work but the cabin was comfortable and cozy. Scott the host was quick to respond, nice, and welcoming into his families cabin. I highly recommend for any Colorado season.

Thank you, Shane. You've pretty much covered the bases . . . anytime in the Quartz Creek Valley, aka Ohio City, is a good time! Thank you for pointing out some of the highlights of your stay. Hope to see you y'all next season.
Gorgeous cabin aesthetic. Comfy beds. Loved sitting on the porch in the evenings.

Thank you, Matt! Even though there was a "minor" hiccup on the gas service, we appreciate you working with us and understanding that "stuff" happens. This is why it's so important for us to have on-site maintenance available.
Hope to have you and your clan back again someday . . .
Scott

Thank you, Justin. Having two (2) cabins across the street form each other really gives large families/groups options. The remodel of the Barn Cabin was done by my nephew and his construction company, Quartz Creek Company. We couldn't be more thrilled with the way it turned out!
The cabin was in a great location for us for dirt biking in the area. Beautiful cabin fully stocked with everthing we needed for the time we were there. The area was beautiful and very relaxing as well. Hope to stay again next year

Always good to hear that our guests enjoyed their stay & accommodations. Next year we ought to have the Tipi fitted out and the screened fire pit ready for use.
We really enjoyed our stay at Scott's barn cabin. The cabin is comfortable and nicely furnished. Scott was also very accommodating and easy to work with.

Thank you, Gary. Glad your families were able to enjoy both cabins together. We will be adding a small microwave oven shortly . . . thanks for the recommendation. We were thinking that we didn't want to clutter the countertop, but have decided it could also be stored in the cabinet & brought out to use as necessary.
A cabin with everything you need and beautiful views
Great cabin with everything necessary to spend a few days enjoying winter in Colorado. Very clean and cozy, and comfortable. Perfectly equipped kitchen. Ohio city is a very small area with just a few people living around, ideal for resting and enjoying beautiful winter views.

Delighted that you enjoyed your area & accommodations. I understand there was plenty of snow around for a beautiful winter setting . . .
Very peaceful mountain town. Great 4-wheeler trails! Super fun giant teepee in the backyard. The house was excellent. Lots of thirsty hummingbirds so bring your hummingbird feeder! We had a blast!
