This home is situated in a quiet neighborhood. It was the perfect serene setting for our girls trip. It is awesome that basically ALL bedrooms have private bathrooms. This home is setup for entertaining and solitude, whatever you need. I would definitely book this house again.

Wonderful Respite!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We only had a few days to spend on the coast and they couldn't have been lovelier. The sunsets alone were worth the trip. The house was clean, spacious, and oddly soothing. Watching a storm roll in while perched up in the trees, safely dry in the screened porch, was a delightful experience.

We prefer more natural beaches and this area is lovely. We caught many fish from the private pier and really enjoyed watching the manatees. The property is beautifully maintained with gorgeous views at sunset. You are perfectly situated between Apalachicola and St. George Island, which makes exploring so easy. We had a pleasant experience with everyone involved and are already planning our return to the Shady Oyster!

the location was excellent midway between the two bridges and to eastpoint not to mention the quiet seclusion and peaceful backyard on the water with amazing sunsets, this will be my go to whenever I return. just felt little scary going out on the pier without and rails

Great location

This was a wonderful place to stay for our girlfriend weekend. It was the perfect location between Apalachicola and St. George Island. The home and property were beautiful and very relaxing.

One of the best houses we’ve stayed in!

Beautiful home with a great view of the bay and gorgeous sunsets every night. The fish were biting and the dolphins put on more than one show. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed our stay. Will be back!

We would retire here!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at his beautiful home before it was the Shady Oyster and we loved it then but the new owners have made many additions that made our visit even more perfect this time. There is a shaded seating area in the back yard with a small fire pit and string lights to help you unwind or you can hang out under the porch and even watch TV. The dock is fun to fish from or to just relax and enjoy the view. There is also a kayak launch available. The scenery is spectacular and the sunsets from the dock are amazing! The house is safe and feels secluded. It has a wonderful layout and it is stocked with standard things that you would need during your trip. The decor is pretty and the beds are comfy. The new showers are really nice with plenty of hot water too. The location is convenient because it is close to many other places to explore. I have to also mention that the Forgotten Shores staff are so friendly and extremely helpful through every step of vacation planning. We look forward to our next stay at the Shady Oyster!

Perfect for our stay. Beds are comfortable. House is well laid out, and well equipped. And it was very very clean. Forgotten Shores is very easy to deal with. Loved the dock. And the downstairs when one of us had a tutoring session. 3/4 mile walk to Pollywhogs on sidewalks. About the same to Nature center.

You can tell they truly care about their guests’ experience. My husband and I were here visiting our 24 year old son and his girlfriend who live in Apalachicola now. They stayed with us. Everything about our stay was perfect. We are so grateful for this amazing property. We would like to come in warmer weather next time but loved it !!

We ran across this one at the last minute and it was great! So great we plan to stay here more in the future! It's absolutely beautiful. Being able to sit on the dock and see the sunsets were my favorite! Sitting on the screened in porch was very relaxing. We can't wait to stay again! A pool would be a great addition for this house! My kids truly enjoyed it but they were hoping we would have a pool where we stayed! I have to add that everyone I talked to from forgotten Shores properties were extremely nice and so much help! Thank you guys so much!

We enjoyed the location, comfort and cleanliness of this home. Comfortable beds, beautiful view of the bay and close to the beach and Apalachicola. We were responded to quickly and considerately when we had questions about the house when we arrived. I would recommend this beautiful home for a restful vacation to my family and friends.

Great place to relax

Very nice property. No issues at all except that the trash can was full. Emailed the priperty managers and they came and emptied it enough ti last us the week. Kids loved the fishing dock and we got to see several dolphins. Overall a great property

Shady Oyster

Only issue for us was the stairs- hard on us and the dogs Dock needs guardrails- that direct drop is dangerous Need grab bar on outside of tub for help getting out in Bath upstairs Both towel holder and toilet paper holder were loose in upstate bath But, beautiful house in a great location. Gorgeous sunsets. So easy to get to both Apalachicola or SGI!

Lake House on the Bay

Enjoyed our stay! View and dock is amazing. I loved dog bowls in place for dogs. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. Dishes have to be put back, so I wasn’t confident of cleanliness. Leaving dishes in dishwasher is an incentive for guests to use it. Garbage had to be pulled to the street. Loved that I could check in early!
