Everything was great. Close to every bit far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet in a country setting. Only improvement I could suggest is an upgrade on the mattress in master. But everything else was perfect including my interaction with the owner. Very accommodating!!
We decided to take our two teens and baby on a last minute spring break road trip and found LaMaison Rouge, a perfect option for our family in every way. It was a little outside of town and nice and quiet for the baby but still close enough to drive to all the attractions. The quick and constant communication and availability we needed was just the beginning of our great experience. The home is beautiful, the beds are super comfy, the kitchen and dining area incredibly spacious and accommodating (containing everything you could ever need that you forgot to bring!), every room is clean and welcoming, even the cute lil porch, deck and yard area. The baby just loved all the space to crawl and mom loved how clean the floors were for her! The whole family agreed easily that we’d come back in a heartbeat!
Plenty of space for the entire family including your puppies. It even has a fenced in area for your pups. Our's enjoyed running around in the fenced in area. The house is close to all the attractions. Close to grocery stores and gas stations. Julie is awesome. She responds to you right away. The home is truly a home away from home. Had everything we needed for our stay. 3 bedrooms, so place for everyone to sleep and not in tiny beds either. They were comfortable too. Home had 2 bathrooms which was great. If you are looking for a place to stay, definitely consider this one. Easy check-in and check-out. You won't regret it.
In Tennessee to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday with family and friends. Location was outside of town but close enough to make getting into town easy. Everyone enjoyed the back porch, day and night. Beds were comfortable, plenty of space for everyone. Would definitely rent again if we go back to the area.
Wonderful home to vacation in! All the amenities that we mentioned and more! Relaxed on the back deck drank coffee and chilled every morning. It snowed from Chattanooga to Sevierville , the roads were easy to navigate and we were well pleased with our stay. Thank you Julie for a wonderful get away!
First of all, this property is NOT up on a mountainside, which we loved since we had some in our group arriving in the dark. It is easily accessible for anyone! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen is the perfect size and has all the pots, pans, utensils, and dish ware that you could ever need! (There is a dollar store about 2 miles away and a grocery store 3 miles away, just in case) Plenty of seating and room for everyone. The cabin is beautifully decorated and feels like home. We put the keurig to good use with coffee for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids. There’s plenty of pillows and bedding to go around, so no need to bring your own. The two electric fireplaces are wonderful!! We loved watching Christmas movies in front of the fireplace! The master bedroom does get a little cold, even with the heat on, so throw an extra blanket on the bed. Definitely a nice place to stay. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive to Pigeon Forge, depending on the traffic. And again, it’s easy to get to which is the best!
Property met our expectations. TV channels were very limited and internet was slow but things were acceptable.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Incorrect listing, dirty bed
The house was remotely located which was nice. In a quite area. Decent size, especially common area and kitchen. It's nothing fancy, doesnt have super nice fixtures, decor, etc, and a bit older home, but it serves its purpose.
We booked this property bc it listed 8 beds. When we arrived at the property, there were only 4. The vrbo app wasn't working so I couldn't message the host, so I called. The host was immediately rude and defensive, telling me that the listing was very specific and that it did not list 8 beds, and that the 2 air mattresses in the common area count as beds.
I sat on the phone with vrbo for most of dinner trying to make sure I hadn't misunderstood the listing and to confirm if air mattresses can count as beds. I was correct and the listing was wrong. The host did finally admit they were wrong and apologize. However, after admitting the listing was wrong, she told me 10 people had stayed at the property last week and had no issues with the amount of beds. It was incredibly defensive and made the apology less meaningful.
We tried using the air mattresses but there were no batteries. The host said she was having some sent, so we didn't go get any. No batteries ever came. When we went to lay down, we noticed trash and hair all over the bedsheets of the king. After smelling the sheets, it was obvious that the sheets had been slept on previously but had not been washed. I messaged the host to ask for clean sheets. We found 3 sets, all of which stunk of strong cigarette smoke or mildew. It was after midnight at this point, so we washed the set on the bed rather than trying to get the smoke smell out of the other sheets.
The host reached out the next day and I told her about the extra sheets and their smell. She immediately said that smoking wasn't allowed and that her house keeper was just there and that some relatives had also just stayed there and didn't mentioned a smoke smell. She essentially made out like I wasn't telling the truth and I spent half our trip arguing with her. I asked her to please come see for herself, but she said she wasnt close enough to do so. I finally just stopped responding so I could try to enjoy the trip as best I could. We did have to sleep 4 ppl to the king bed for 2 nights, which was miserable. The host did finally try to make it right, but she doesn't live close enough to be responsive or solve issues if they arise. Vrbo also wasn't much help. They only offered us a hotel an hour away.
We loved staying at La Maison Rouge and was very pleasantly surprised with how clean and stocked everything was when we got there… so nice and plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 3 kids. The check in process was very easy and Julie was great to communicate with. We’ll definitely stay at this property again… it was secluded but not so far away from everything. The elevation was great as well, especially for those of us who may get a little carsick from higher drives. Overall, 5 stars for everything!!! Loved staying at La Maison Rouge—- thank you to the hosts!!!!
