5★ Akoa Hale: Infinity Heated Pool & Spa, Orchard, Ocean View, Gated Kona Estate
Welcome to Akoa Hale — wake up to sweeping 180° Pacific Ocean views and step outside to your private 40-ft heated saltwater infinity pool and spa. Beyond it, over 1 acre of lush tropical orchard — fresh mango, citrus, and starfruit all yours to pick. The covered lanai. The deep, rare quiet of an exclusive gated Kona estate for up to 10 guests. And yet, Magic Sands Beach, Ironman Pier, and the best restaurants on Ali'i Drive, all just minutes away. This is Hawaii living at its absolute finest.
Designed by acclaimed interior designer Somerled Designs, this home sits on a single level on over an acre in an exclusive gated cul-de-sac in Kahakai Heights — one of the most private settings in all of Kona.
Step inside to sweeping Pacific Ocean views that greet you the moment you walk through the door. A soaring vaulted ceiling and open floor plan frame the space, with a fully stocked chef's kitchen anchoring one side and a 75" Smart TV anchoring the other.
The backyard is pure Hawaii. A 1,200 sq ft covered lanai sets the scene for evening mai tais and al fresco dining. Just beyond, your solar-heated saltwater infinity pool and heated spa await — no chlorine smell, ever. A shallow wading ledge keeps little ones safely splashing in just 6 inches of water while the adults enjoy the full pool.
Wander down to the fruit orchard and pick fresh mango, citrus, and starfruit straight from the trees with your little ones.
The master suite is a true retreat — King bed with ocean view, walk-in closet, and a spa-like bathroom with double shower and oversized soaking tub. The second bedroom has a Queen, the third has two Queens perfect for kids or adults, and the fourth features a bunk bed with a dedicated kids play area packed with toys. Central A/C with a Nest thermostat keeps everyone comfortable throughout.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything — All-Clad cookware, Keurig, Instant Pot, electric griddle, and fresh local Kona coffee waiting for you. Blazing 1 Gig fiber WiFi keeps you connected everywhere, including a workspace with wireless color printer — perfect for those needing to stay connected.
Everything you need for the beach is already packed — chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear in all sizes, sand toys, a cooler bag and a wagon to carry it all. Traveling with a baby? A crib, pack n' play, baby bathtub, night pads, and high chair are all on hand. Workout weights, yoga mats, and hairdryer round out the rest.
The community's private streets offer stunning Pacific Ocean views on every morning walk or evening stroll — and a beautiful 3-acre park is just steps away for a lazy afternoon game of frisbee.

Mahalo for choosing to stay with us! We’re so happy the home and views made your family vacation special.
Good evening. Thanks for your support and quick response every time that we had some doubts. In general everything was great and we had a great time during our stay in your property. The pool was great and the hot tub worked perfectly. The only thing that I would say will improve the property would be a change of the bbq. We had some difficulties to start it and we were worried about not having enough gas because the second propane bottle was empty. Also the diving gear was not too well taken care. I guess this is not the property fault but previous users’. When we arrived the outside was not super clean but the interior was perfect. Just trying to help you with the few things that maybe were not perfect for all. But as I said we greatly enjoyed the time there, would 100% recommend the property and will come back if we visit Great Island again without hesitation. Mahalo. Pedro and the rest of the group.

Aloha Pedro, glad to hear you had a great time at my home. The reason the outside was not super clean is because you arrived in the midst of a historic storm - the worst hawaii has seen in 20 years. It was outside our control with all the leaf debris flying around. We have more bbq tanks in storage if you needed it. We let us guests know in the house manual to ask if they need anything else. We will do a better job to make sure the snorkeling gear is also better organized - you’re right each time it gets used all the right fins and masks don’t make it back as matching pairs in the right bags. Mahalo.
The perfect space for our family trip. Memories were made here
The home was amazingly beautiful, well kept, and reasonably stocked with all you need. The orchard was an exciting adventure for my 18 year old boys, who took pride in finding the family fruit to enjoy. The pool was perfectly designed and the hot tub was a bonus. The beds were comfortable (important details for an almost 2 week stay). The community was private and welcoming. The Host was very responsive.

Mahalo for your kind review! We’re glad your family enjoyed the home, the orchard, and the pool, and that the space was comfortable for your extended stay. We truly appreciate your feedback and would love to host you again!
The house and grounds were beautiful and the view was amazing, especially at sunset. Very easy from booking through checkout. The house was in a neighborhood but felt private and wasn’t far from town. It made for a fun, relaxing getaway with our adult children. Would love to stay again if we get back to the Big Island.

Aloha Traci, mahalo for being such a wonderful guest and for the wonderful review. We hope to see you again
We loved our time at the property! Having adult kids (26,23,21&18) all in one comfortable spot was amazing…we loved watching the sunsets from the infinity pool every night! Summit’s guide of things to do in Kona was awesome - definitely have dinner at Huggo’s!
Thanks for the hospitality- we will be back!
We chose the big island for our 2 week trip and we are so glad we found this property. Having the pool was amazing, we used it daily. It was centrally located to town and any grocery trips needed were quick. We would 100% stay here again in the future.
This house far exceeded my high expectations. My grandson never wanted to leave. Board are great and provide everything needed. If you are thinking about staying here do not hesitate. You will LOVE it.

Mahalo for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled the home exceeded your expectations—and that your grandson loved it so much. We truly appreciate the recommendation and would be happy to host you again anytime!
The house itself is great for kids and adults alike. The house is all one floor and is quite safe for kids. Pool and view are beautiful. Sumit responded very quickly to any questions and concerns we had and made sure we were satisfied with our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property.
This place was everything and more than we hoped! We had 10 total from ages 9-76 and plenty of space for all, comfortable accommodations, all the amenities and the best part - the pool and spa. Felt we didn’t even need to leave to soak up our time in BI! The location was perfect; close to all the Kona sites and amazing views. We even spotted a pod of whales! Other things like binoculars, pool toys, snorkel gear, umbrellas, chairs, a wagon and boogy boards made us realize we had everything we didn’t even know we needed! Didn’t want to leave!!

We had a wonderful week at this property. The view, pool and jacuzzi are stunning! The pictures, as beautiful as they are, do not do it justice. The location is great. Just a short drive to town. Communication with owner was great. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Aloha Joan. Mahalo for the nice review. We certainly would welcome you back anytime.
We absolutely LOVED this house. Such a convenient location, and the views are some of the best you can ask for. Whale watching right from the back yard. Lots of fruit to check out below. Some of the best sunset pictures came from the back area. House was super cute and well decorated. Will definitely return again!

Mahalo for your wonderful review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the home, location, and views, and we look forward to hosting you again in the future.
The House was exceptionally clean, well equipped, and in a gated community. The pool is Amazing: An Infinity Pool & hot tub from which you can see the Ocean. The location is very convenient.
My only suggestion is that they add a pool heater. The house is a luxury property and could use it!

Aloha Stacy, thanks you for the kind comments and feedback. We just were in the process of adding the solar pool heater right after you left in Jan (waiting for pool heating contractor) and it’s now in place heating the pool very comfortably even in the winter months.
This property was absolutely fabulous. The house is beautiful, very well maintained, super clean and really well equipped. We enjoyed fresh star fruit and oranges from the orchard. Lots of little details that made the stay even more enjoyable. Peggy and Sumit were very nice and good at communication. We used the infinity pool and spa every day. Beautiful view and sunsets. It was hard to leave.
Aloha. My family of 9, 6 adults and 3 grandchildren enjoyed the expansive home. It had enough room for all to escape to their own space. The waterfall edge pool was amazing, everyone enjoyed both the pool and hot tub. The grandchildren had a blast with the supplied pool and beach toys. We also loved the fresh fruit on the property. We harvested mango, papaya, star fruit, tangerine and oranges. The home is a 7-10 minutes drive to the grocery store, coffee shops and all the fun sights and market places on the island. Last but not least the sunsets from the lanai, breathtaking. My family and I would stay at this home again. Mahalo Dava, Lima Ohio

Mahalo Dava for the amazing house highlights in your review. We enjoyed hosting you for 2 weeks and hope to you again the future when you return to the island.
Pool and spa heater and jets were not working the first few days but were corrected as soon as it was reported. The hot water in the house was very limited. The Wi-Fi was no great. Overall the view was beautiful and the grounds are beautiful. The house was very comfortable and our vacation was great. You might want to bring your own pillows though. I would stay there again.

Aloha Cathy. Mahalo for the 5 star review. I’m glad we were able to turn on the tripped breakers and get the spa back online as soon as you let us know.
This is the first we’re learning about the wifi and the hot water concern. We have high speed 300Mbps line.
Also the hot water uses a hybrid solar system with electricity backup at night. For large groups of 9 like your we have included instructions on how to flip a switch to turn on the electricity backup manually during the day if you use up the 80 gallon tank. I wish you had just asked. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We have a mix of tempurpedic and regular pillows in the house so can see how some may be hard for you, but we’re buying additional regular pillows for guests as well.
