Covered breezeways link together the four large bungalows that comprise this property.

Bedroom Bungalow
Composed of 4 comfortable and relaxing private bedrooms each with a king size bed, en suite bathrooms and sitting aerea. A/C.
The two central bedrooms offer an additional loft with two twin beds each.

Main Living Bungalow
This space greets you with a spectacular open living room, dining room, and a large terrace. Cozy sofas and vibrant hammocks offer breathtaking views of the flora and fauna.
The main living area kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and a bar area.


Dining, main kitchen and Lounge Bungalow
An open staircase winds through lush jungle gardens and across a flowing creek to the lounge bungalow. This space features a swimming pool, deck, barbecue and secondary living area and is complemented with a fully equipped second kitchen, pantry and bar area.

Game Room Bungalow
This large open room is separate from the other three bungalows. This lounge includes a pool table, two ping-pong tables as well as two table-football tables.
A half bath and wet bar area complete this ultimate game room.

All bedrooms are furnished with comfortable king size beds, 100% Egyptian cotton bed sheets, A/C, multiple-speed ceiling fans, large wardrobes, a personal safe, and private en suite bathrooms.

Paradise

We loved our stay at Las Casas - it was our own slice of paradise. The pictures don’t do it justice. One thing to note there is no games room or yoga deck but we didn’t mind as we had more space than we knew what to do with. There were so many wild animals passing through we were in heaven and the staff couldn’t have been better. Hoping we can return again one day.

Absolute stunning property!

The property is better than any of the pictures. It was like a Polynesian jungle mansion. The staff is exceptional, including the gardener / handyman German and his two sweet pups who became like part of the family. The housekeepers will cook for you for a fee and the food was incredible. Carmen, the manager, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We hired a security guard to man the guard house to be extra safe, but it was likely not needed as this is a safe area. We walked to the grocery store and a restaurant. There was a beach in walking distance as well, and the town and beach with surf lessons are a short taxi drive away. We loved our stay and want to come back soon! We did have 5 kids and 3 adults - the place was perfect for us except there is no longer a game room. Just FYI for future family bookings.

Amazing Property

We travel in a group of 6 or 7 once or twice per year, and it is unlikely we will ever find a property that will match this one. The property is beautiful and the location in Cocles is great. There are nice restaurants and supermarkets right down the road, but you are away from it enough not to hear any of the noise etc. Great living and kitchen areas, we used the outdoor grill a few times and cooked meals. Keel Billed and Yellow Throated Toucans, Aracaris, Woodpeckers, Tanagers, Hummingbirds, Howler Monkeys, Frogs, etc. So much wild life on this property. The staff - Carmen, German, Ampodor, and Sandy were great. Oh, and the dogs and horse that live on the property made it all the more special. We were sad to leave.

Top Notch Caribbean Costa Rica

This property is a great blend of why you visit Costa Rica. It lets you be outside and enjoy this beautiful country while still having the comforts of a house. The staff and property manager are very friendly and helpful. The lounging areas are expansive so that everyone can have their own space and also be nearby. Air conditioned bedrooms were nice and gave you a little break from the humidity. The birdwatching here was particularly enjoyable. We saw toucans, aracaris, rails, trogons, oropendulas, parrots, and more. We also saw an anteater here. The landscaping was well designed. Also, if you stay here, then you should definitely take advantage of Asenath’s cooking. For a reasonable price, you can “go out to dinner “ without all of the hassle of going out to dinner. This has nothing to do with this house, but be aware that the highway from San Jose to Limon is under construction and heavily congested. It took us 8 hours to get here and 10 hours to get back, although mapping apps will tell you 5 hours.

Costa Rica Magic

This place is MAGICAL...the open air layout surrounded by tropic-scape makes it feel like you are staying in a treehouse...howler monkeys, birds, orchids, rain on the roof, yet peaceful. Our group of 4 couples loved reading, cooking, playing cards, etc The staff were wonderful and cooked us a traditional caribbean chicken dinner, did our laundry, and gave us great ideas for things to do in the area. There are even two sweet dogs and a free range horse on the property. Lush, private, quiet, beautiful. Pool was lovely on hot days, and a big screen tv in the pool building let us keep up.with March Madness back in the US. Thx for amazing hosting, Carmen, Asenath, Amparo and ???our great prop.mgr whose name I'm forgetting!!!

My family of 10 had a memorable stay! Everything was 5 star! Grounds are breathtaking beautiful! Waking up to the sound of Howler monkeys in the distance. Laundry and cleaning service. A beautiful walk to the beach! And so much more! Carmen and her staff are so wonderful! They cooked for us and we invited them to join us! Such kind caring people! You will not be disappointed when you pass through the gates to this property. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Absolutely amazing

We had an incredible time at Las Casas. It was a luxurious environment with 8 acres of flora and fauna as well as many comfortable outdoor seating areas, pool, and bedrooms with fans and AC. We didn’t always need the AC, but it was a wonderful bonus. We traveled with our kids and parents ranging from 7 to 79 in age and everyone had a wonderful time. Lots of space to spread out when you need some space as well… Asenath cooked many delicious meals for us while there, but more importantly she and everyone on staff were so kind and enjoyable to get to know. I have already recommended Las Casas to friends and am looking forward to returning some day (hopefully soon!)

Incredible in every way

I don’t know where to start. We had a group of 10 people with 3 kids, 3 grandparents, and two couples. There was something for everyone and we all had an amazing experience at Las Casas. The photos in the listing do not even come close to describing the magnificence of this property. It is immaculately maintained, and unbelievably beautiful. Waking up to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys was as awesome as going to sleep to the sounds of frogs and crickets. Somehow, even in this rainforest with a fully open-to-the-environment living situation, we literally had no mosquito bites during the week we were there. Furthermore, there were no issues with insects at all, which seemed miraculous. The swimming pool was amazing and perfectly cleaned everyday. Also, I think something that is not described well in the listing is that there is a full staff at the property to take care of everything for you if you desire. We hired Asenath to cook several meals for us and everything was so delicious. She was so sweet and fun to talk to that we tried inviting her to join us for the meals as well! When you hire her to cook the meals, cleanup is also included, which is a huge time saver for a large group and helped make our stay even better. Overall, our experience at Las Casas was amazing and we would definitely stay there again!

Favorite Vacation EVER

We went to Costa Rica with a group of 10 people between October 9 - October 17. Although the road trip was long from San Jose, we were warmly welcomed with a delicious dinner. The photos do not do the property justice. It is STUNNING! All of the staff was kind, helpful, and enhanced every aspect of our stay. Asenath (the chef) quickly became an extended member of our family, and we were all so sad to leave her. This trip exceeded our expectations on every level, and we will definitely be returning!

Great property and great people

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The property was beautiful- private and surrounded by wildlife and the jungle. The team made sure we had everything we needed from the beginning - food, things to do. Assenanth was wonderful- highly recommend her breakfasts/dinners, she was very nice and we enjoyed practicing our spanish with her. Would highly recommend this property to any family, group of friends, etc.

Amazing property

Our twelve day stay was great. Although the rainy weather inhibited our activities the comfort, security and convenience was outstanding. The staff was excellent and attentive. Asenath cooked us several meals which were outstanding. She also was very helpful with giving us information on the tours and activities we took. Asenath also helped us with our Spanish and was always very helpful.

we had an amazing stay here! the whole process was wonderful from beginning to end, and we were very sad to leave! Carmen was amazing with arranging everything for our arrival, food and cold beer in the fridge, and she had the rental car delivered right to the house, so convenient! Asenath cooked for us the first night and the first morning (delicious meals!!), and then we asked her to join us for breakfast the rest of our stay - she was wonderful to talk to! the house was just gorgeous, with every attention to detail! the grounds were kept in immaculate condition, and waking up to howler monkeys outside our bedrooms every morning was just so cool! we had an incredible stay, and would definitely come again! thank you!

Gorgeous grounds, peaceful setting, loved the cook

We so enjoyed our week at Las Casas. The staff was phenomenal, especially Asenath the cook. She not only made us great food, but was great to talk with. She was so patient with us in helping us learn Spanish, while we helped her a bit also with her English. The grounds were incredibly beautiful and spacious. The accommodations were very good. We enjoyed the pool every day. We walked into town one day and could have used the beach there but chose not to at the time. Most of the time we just stayed at the house and relaxed. The TV was large and the TV area was comfortable for watching the football playoffs. Unfortunately the next door neighbor burned brush and trash and sometimes the smoke blew over our property. The Las Casas staff were very attentive and quick to do what they could to help. The fire was put out, but then he started up again the next day.

Perfect!!

We are a group of 4 and we stayed at Las Casas the first week of January 2018. The previous reviews were spot on with many of the opinions and details - so there is no need to add too much. Just a perfect trip!! A few items - 1) I also am very glad we had a driver from San Jose for the 5 hour drive (and rented a car in Puerto Viejo) 2) the grounds were incredible 3) one night we had 11 Howler monkeys sleep in the tree above our sleeping area! 4) the staff was excellent and we were very safe. Thank you for a super stay and we will be back!

It really is like your own private resort

The photographs on the website do not do justice to Las Casas. It is huge and drop-dead beautiful. The architecture and layout of the gardens is wonderful. We visited over Christmas and my 80th Birthday with our family group ranging in ages from 23 to 80 yrs. Though Las Casas would not accommodate anyone in a wheelchair or walker, it was fine for us senior citizens who are ambulatory. There are lots of different activity areas for different folks with birds and wildlife to watch as well. We enjoy cooking and so fixed most of our own meals. The two kitchens (main house and by the pool) are extremely well equipped and the grill is perfect for a large group. The local stores carry everything you need. We also enjoyed two dinners prepared by the staff that were excellent, in case you are not into cooking. Speaking of staff: All the staff at Las Casas are wonderful, very friendly and helpful -- you couldn’t ask for better. And the buildings and grounds are kept in pristine condition. December is a rainy month but there were several hours of sunshine every day – plenty of time to enjoy the pool or the beach, mosquitoes weren’t bad either. December is not the time for snorkeling – the water is too cloudy - but body surfing is good and lots of other places to go and see. The one issue is the logistics for getting here. We recommend hiring the shuttle and renting a car in Puerto Viejo once you arrive. (Or fly a private plane to Limon if you have access to such.) Regardless, it is well worth the effort. We had a fabulous time enjoyed by everyone of all ages!

Las Casas is a magical place !

Las Casas does not disappoint. The property is huge, its like having an entire resort to yourself. When you first arrive you feel totally blown away by how beautiful it is. I have stayed at Las Casas twice. The first time with 6 adults and 5 kids. The second time with 8 adults and 8 kids (ages 6,6,5,5,3,3,2 and1 ). Both trips we had Asenthe cook breakfast and dinner for the group. Asenthe is amazing. She will plan the meals, shop, cook and clean up. Her cooking is great, she makes the best mojito in the world and the care she gives to you while staying at the house is like she is taking care of family. The sleeping rooms are cozy, each with a comfortable bed, clean bathroom, hot water, and A/C for good sleeping. 2 units have loft areas with 2 beds which is great for families. Each unit has a porch area and you can see parrots and Toucans from the screened in sitting area. The pool is a great place to hang around, swim, do yoga and have a cocktail. Its distance to the main house is just right. Making the main house a quite, cozy lounge area while the kids are enjoying themselves at the pool. While visiting the area we visited the Jaguar Center, went zip lining, visited many beaches and did some snorkeling, went on a boat tour, to a yoga class, out to Refugio for dinner (so yummy), the brewery in Puerto for delicious beer, rented bikes and cruised the streets. I highly recommend Las Casas and the Caribbean coast to those looking for an off the beaten path Costa Rica vacation.

Spectacular property, location and service

We were impressed by the property. It is a lot bigger than what we expected. It is hard to be aware of the limits of the property. Rooms were large and comfortable. It has three “ranchos” where the adults, the teens and the children could gather. The pool is gorgeous and clean and the service included with the property was very helping and polite. We hired them to arrange dinners and save us the hustle of having to go downtown on busy dates. The beaches near the property are great and the nearby Puerto Viejo is lots of fun.

Best Family Vacation - didn't want to leave!

We traveled with 2 other families and stayed 8 days (not long enough!). We were a total of 6 adults and 6 kids (two 7 yr olds, two 6 yr olds, and two 4 yr olds). Honestly, the pictures don't do this place justice. All of our jaws dropped when we arrived. The place is far more spread out than we had imagined, making us feel like we had our own private resort. To top it off, the staff was amazing. We feel in love with Asenath, who along with Angela does the cleaning and cooking (if you want). We hired them to cook every breakfast and dinner for us, and once again they went above and beyond. The meals were not only amazing but less expensive than if we had eaten out - it was the icing on the cake for our trip. We were greeted each morning with a huge smile and a cup of coffee in hand for each of us. She arranged all of our meals around our schedules and to our likings (we menu planned with Paola when we arrived). The grounds keeper cut open fresh coconuts for everyone and there was a freshly picked hanging of bananas for us to enjoy during our stay. We absolutely enjoyed everything about our stay and honestly can't say enough great things about it. The area also offered tons to do. The Jaguar Rescue Center is a must do, we (including 7 and 4.5 yr old) enjoyed the ChocoRart tour, Punta Uva was a great kids beach for swimming, we introduced snorkeling to the kids (have to hit it on a calm day though) at the beach just south of Punta Uva, we all went ziplining, swimming with/on the horses at Caribe horse riding club, kayaking with Nature Riders, and surfing (can be rough with lots of rips, so just need to go at the right time of year, which we hit perfectly). Can't wait to go back!!!

An experience of a lifetime!

We, an elderly couple, had invited our son and daughter with respective family to celebrate Christmas and New Year together in Costa Rica. In all we stayed two weeks at the property. We were in all 11 persons between 5 and 73 years old and all of us really enjoyed the place, which has lots to offer independently of age. We had of course studied the prospect of the facility, but each of us were stunned when arriving, it was to good to be true! In addition to offering excellent accomodation to everybody, we had all the facilities we could think of in respect of relaxing, preparing meals in two different places, pool and game areas, a wonderful park with many interesting observations of plants, birds and animals, and last, but not least, a fantastic staff that did everything for making our stay an experience of a lifetime.

So Wonderful, We Were Sad to Leave...

Our family of 6 just spent the New Year holiday at Las Casas and had the experience of a lifetime. The property is breathtaking and extremely well-cared for with more room than we knew what to do with. The photos, though beautiful, do not do it justice. The staff was friendly and gracious and went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect. Our first morning, the caretaker pointed out howler monkeys in the trees, showed us a sleeping sloth and then walked us around the property, sharing the fruit of the many fruit trees, many of which we had never seen or tasted before. Many mornings he cut down coconuts and opened them expertly with his machete so we could enjoy coconut water right out of the coconut! Each morning the housekeeper would have the coffee ready and would prepare a delicious breakfast and one day made us the best Caribbean Chicken for dinner! She was so sweet and wonderful she became part of our family! The buildings/modules were extraordinary. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable, each with its own terrace and bathroom. The main living module quickly became one of our favorites with a wonderful, well-appointed kitchen, huge dining area, spacious living area with tons of seating and hammocks. This became family central and was ideal for planning our day, relaxing and spending time together. The pool area was another in which we spent much of our time. The pool was beautiful and well-maintained... and always seemed the perfect temperature. This module also had a large, well-appointed kitchen with outdoor grill, another bathroom, huge dining area and spacious living area with lot of seating and hammocks. We didn't spend much time in the game room module, although we always intended to but after a day of activities, dinner and swimming, we were ready to sprawl out in the main living area and relax together before going to bed. However, this module is very well-equipped with ping pong, pool table, foosball, TV and lots of comfortable seating. I can't say enough... It was a true privilege to stay here and the staff made it a very special experience for each of us. The activities, shops and restaurants the property manager recommended were absolutely perfect for our family. And the location was ideal; close to town and beautiful beaches but far enough away to feel like a tropical escape. None of us were ready to leave and were saddened to say goodbye to the amazing staff and stunning property. Until next time!

Amazing property

We just spent 9 wonderful days at Las Casas. The compound is composed of 5 beautiful, open wooden buildings set in an amazingly lush tropical park ( it's too big to call it a garden ). The staff is professional and friendly and always ready to take care of you : finding a car, organizing a tour, booking a massage... The food is EXCELLENT . Hated leaving, just hope we can go back soon !
