We stayed for one night since we had a nearby reservation and were coming from Chicago. Location was terrific and we wanted to keep it mind for future booking in the summertime given the proximity to the beach. Really large yard was a plus and accommodations were in nice shape!

The view is awesome. You literally walk out of backyard gate and the whole lake is right in front of you and the beach is right there. House is clean, kitchen is well equipped, and it's really comfortable. The place is easy to find and the owner is quick to respond. If you're thinking about getting this place for a beach trip, it's worth it.

Great little house

Host never sent us the check-in instructions. We called several times, waited outside for over an hour with our two dogs after a long trip to be met with a lackluster resolution of staying in a nearby hotel. We would have not booked knowing this was a possible result. Owner was less than apologetic, claiming it was a VRBO technical issue and that he owned 5 rental units and was quite clueless to the situation. Instead of offering a resolution, owner offered to treat us to dinner - not helpful as we were traveling with two dogs and intended on utilizing the kitchen and backyard for homecooked meals. We would have reserved a hotel room and avoided all of this mess if that was the preferred outcome. Instead - we paid more for a hotel to which VRBO only compensated partially. Horrible experience and no proper appreciable customer service from either party - Renter Beware. We never entered the home, but from the overgrown bush blocking the front door, broken backyard wooden gate entry and pillows in place of patio cushions, and neighbor with barking dog... perhaps it was for the best.

Kendra is partly right that we thought the instructions were in her email. As soon as we found out she was waiting, we did offer to treat her at the most popular italian restaurant to compensate and were profusely apologetic. We even offered her a discount on the rest of the stay. Sadly she refused and didnt provide us an opportunity for service recovery. We did correct the error and now checkin instructions are automated to the customer. We encourage guests to go through other reviews for a more balanced assessment of the vrbo.
