Old Bank is a very nice place to stay. Clean, comfortable and well stocked with amenities. This was the third time staying here and hope to return again.
Great stay on Hoopers Island. Waterfront access and views were superb. House was comfortable, kitchen was very nice. Our only complaint was the water side bathroom had a very low toilet. We would stay again- best place we’ve stayed in the area. Check out Madhouse Oysters and Old Saltys on the island. Blackwater wildlife refuge, Harriet Tubman museum and Emily’s Produce nearby.
This place is huge! It fit 6 adults very comfortably. And the view from the living room is beautiful! This is our 2nd time staying here and we will be back.
This house was perfect for a getaway weekend! The dock was great for sitting and relaxing. The house was cozy and charming. We loved the Blackwater Refuge!
My husband and I, plus 2 other couples stayed here for a long weekend. The place is bigger than it looks in photos, and it was perfect for us. It’s well equipped with everything you need, the location is great, and the view from the living room bay window and from the fire pit area is breathtaking! We would def recommend this place.
We had a wonderful vacation! The Old Bank was unique and special. Plenty of room and comfortable furniture and lots of bright sunshine! We loved swimming, fishing, and crabbing! Very quiet and relaxing! 😊
The house was beautiful and steps away from everything. We brought our boat and kept it at the dock. Communication in advance and during our stay was outstanding. The house had everything we needed and more!

Thank you for your kind review! I am happy that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate that you took such good care of the house. Please visit us again!
Stayed at this house during the Ironman weekend. It’s located about 30 minutes from Cambridge. The house is comfortable, easy to access and with a nice view. The host were very communicative and helpful during my stay.
This was a lovely home in a setting that was just right for this low key family of 3. Probably the nicest and most well equipped rental home we've ever stayed at. Sunsets off the dock are amazing. Spent a week relaxing and swimming. Owner easy to contact and helpful. Would love to visit again one day. Highly recommend.
We loved our stay here! My husband was doing the Ironman in Cambridge and it was about 35 minutes to get into town and back, no traffic and enjoyable ride. The Old Bank has so much character, it felt homey, and was stocked with anything we would need! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the doc and the viewing from the living area was amazing. The neighborhood was quiet but everyone we ran into was so friendly, old Salty’s is just a little walk down the street for good food and more amazing views! The host was awesome and quick to respond if we needed anything. Would stay again!
We are no strangers to Hoopers Island, and the Old Bank property provided a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. The house is clean, spacious, and comfortable. Sleeping on the sleep number beds was a treat, and looking out at the bay in the morning was a wonderful way to start the day. Want to thank the host again for great communication and an easy check in process. We look forward to our return. Thank you again!
Karen, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay at our property. We appreciate your initial positive communication and also the update regarding cleanliness that arose on day five. Unfortunately, we do not provide daily maid service and dirt will get in from day to day usage. We do provide cleaning supplies for use for our guest to keep the space tidy. We understand that it can be frustrating when expectations are not met. We regret that you declined our offer to send our housekeeping team to address these issue. Again, thank you for your feedback. Warm regards, Karen and Mike
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful location on the Chesapeake Bay. The house was large, comfortable and accommodating for our family of 4 that included 2 teenagers. We loved fishing off of the dock and watching the sunsets. Old Salty's Restaurant and Bar was within walking distance. The general store was perfect for picking up supplies and food. Definitely a birders paradise with Blackwater Nature Preserve nearby. We also learned that this area is close to the Underground Railroad.

Allison, Thank you so much for the positive feedback and kind review., it means so much to our team. Warmest regards, Karen & Mike
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The house was nice and quiet, we enjoyed the water, pier and fire pit. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. We couldn't ask for anything more. Alot of history with this place, very unique home that we enjoyed.
The area is great, the people are extremely friendly. Great little stores. Woolford's had really good french fries. The crab cakes, drinks and oysters at Old Saltys right next door was incredible.
We can't recommend it all enough.

Hi Brandon! Thank you so much for the five star review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at The Old Bank! And we are happy to hear that you love the area as much as we do. We thank you for allowing us to host you and hope to have the pleasure of doing so again.
Our 4 day's was wonderful and the house is amazing. The teenage boys loved having there own space. They fished and crab. We didn't catch a whole lot becauae the bay was a bit rough. We did enjoy our time and will go back again. If i could make one suggestion since Maryland is know for their crabs, i s maybe some utilities and a table outside for the 🦀 🦀 🦀!

Rebecca, Thank you for the kind words! It was our pleasure to host you and we hope to welcome you back in the future for another outstanding stay. We do plan on adding more outdoor amenities in the future and will post additional pictures on the site when we do so. Thank you again! Warm regards, Karen and Mike.
Our family (7 of us 2 children and 5 adults) decided to try something different this year and to give our grandkids a new adventure. We stayed at the BANK which is unique in itself . Kitchen was well equipped . The rooms were comfortable. The view from the window in the living room is beautiful. The dock is nice to go out whether you crab, fish or just want to sit and take in the view. We spent time outside, using the firepit and grill.

Historic property
The communication with the property manager and check in was very good. The location on the water and view were beautiful.
I would have given a higher overall rating but the property could use a lotta love. We rent many places through VRBO and rental agencies, and this rental needs a deep cleaning and decluttering inside, and a good clean up in the yard.
Also, My husband and I never rent properties that are pet friendly due to allergies. On the overview of the property it says, no pets; however we picked up several fur balls while we were there.

Just ok.
The property was just ok. We really enjoyed the dock and the fire pit but the house itself wasn’t as homey as I would have liked. I think this rental property would be a better fit for 2 couples staying or a few adults but not families. I didn’t like how the house is divided and my children’s rooms felt like they were in a different house. The kids did fish off the dock and tried to catch crabs which was cool. The property manager was very communicative and quick to respond. I think a little sprucing of upholstery and some new cutlery and pots and pans would be a nice touch.

Lis,
We're sorry that you found our beautiful vacation property to be just, OK.
We are, however, more than a bit confused about your objections. If you had taken the time to view our photo and the video you will see exactly what the place looks like. There is no room for confusion. What you.see in our pictures, walk through video and description are EXACTLY what you find in our home. The division between the Bank and newer section is clearly displayed and clearly emphasized in our description. Our furnishings/upholstery are also accurately displayed in the pictures and walk through video. What you see is exactly what is there. If you didn't like our layout and didn't like our "upholsteries" why did you choose to rent our home? As for the cutlery, we have new cutlery and new pots and pans and we also have cutlery and pots and pans for outside use.
There is nothing misleading about our listing.
I wish VRBO allowed hosts to read the reviews of prospective guest prior to booking so that we could also do our due diligence prior to accepting or denying requests.
