What a cute place. Pleanty of room for everyone. Wish the outdoor area would have been cleaned up. The patio, firepit, outdoor and ping pong table use some TLC but otherwise a great stay. Thank you.
The house was great - plenty of space and the kitchen in the basement is a nice bonus. It's a convenient location near both cottonwood canyons and a great option for anyone visiting Salt Lake.
We had a great family stay for a wedding. The location was great. Very easy to get around. We really enjoyed the outside sitting space. The owner was very responsive to any need.
We stayed for a weekend getaway. It was cozy and welcoming. Very clean. Easy to access and even though it's on a busier street you never hear the cars. The decor is fun! We loved our stay.
Thank you to Kirk. We enjoyed having our family together to celebrate graduation. Being walking distance to each other was fabulous. We all had a great weekend and appreciated the house use.
The house is very well situated in the east part of SLC; also the neighborhood is nice and offers all you need. Everything is clean and well maintained, and the beds are super comfortable. We also liked that we could bring our dog (who very much enjoyed the dog door to the backyard).
From the moment we ventured into the neighborhood and then stepped through the front door, we were charmed! The property was clean and very inviting. Plenty of room to spread out as a family! We took advantage of the fire pit for s’mores out back, and the ping-pong table. Morning coffee out back was pleasant too. It’s close proximity to shopping, restaurants, and the freeways was very convenient. I loved how there were so many “extras” so that in case a guest forgets something they don’t need to run out to the store.
We’d love to come back before summer’s end.
The group of us were in town for a convention and needed a place to stay that was close to downtown. At first glance from the outside, we were wondering if we were in the right place. From the outside, the house is unassuming with a yard that was a bit unkept, When you walk through the front door, it is like stepping into another world. Whoever renovated this house has a very clever imagination. There is a new surprise around every corner, especially in the basement. As a side note, the water filters in both of the refrigerators were greatly appreciated and we used them daily.
My adult family rented this house while in SLC for a wedding in June. It was on a busy street in the Sugar House area but we really didn’t hear the traffic at all. The property was perfect for our purposes, including getting to wedding events at Utah U and downtown, getting out to hike in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons, and visiting local family. Sugar House Park and shopping district were just a short walk away, and the Macey’s grocery store was close by in the opposite direction. Just a couple blocks up the street, The Hive Local Market had good coffee and a selection of baked goods and prepared foods.
The house itself was quirky but really comfortable, with four big bedrooms, two full baths, a spacious open kitchen, dining and living room area upstairs and another kitchen and lounging area on the lower floor. The upstairs, kitchen was well-equipped, there were lots of boardgames, plenty of clean towels and bedding, an iron and mini-ironing board, lots of closet space, good lighting, and two large TVs. We didn’t spend time outdoors on the property, but there was a big back patio area with lots of room to relax.
The only thing that was a little on the negative side was the condition of the outside areas. It looked like a lot of effort had been spent making the indoors fun and comfortable - a little TLC on the yard and back patio areas would make the whole package pretty perfect, especially for a larger group.
Stayed with my family for a week, the kitchen had good appliances, many plates, glasses and silverware to accommodate 5 people; all the TVs had access to streaming services which was nice; we all loved the neighborhood, cute, safe, and quiet; there's a beautiful park only 15min away walking, and nearby shops and restaurants. Communication with the host was great, Kirk always answered fast. The backyard needed some cleaning, there were a lot of leaves on the ground from the tree, but other than that it was a nice stay.
Host was responsive and helpful. Easy check in, cute neighborhood area. Bedrooms were comfortable (2 upstairs, 2 in basement). House was well stocked. A/C was awesome. Could have been a bit cleaner (windows grimy and yard was a mess) but it got the job done for our family moving our child into the U.
The house is just as described in the ad. It’s in a great location near Sugarhouse park and the freeway. The inside was clean and in good condition and the owner was responsive to questions. I docked one star for cleanliness because the backyard was dirty and nothing had been wiped down before our arrival. However, I would be more than happy to stay there again.
This was a very cute house, stocked with everything we needed in a great area. We loved our stay!

Is Funky what you want?
At first glance it seems to be accurate to listing. It was a bit disappointing for a couple of reasons. The outdoor space is what solidified my decision to rent the house. The listing promotes this outdoor area and shows some great pictures, however, the space is extremely neglected, not clean, maintained or ready for use. It was May and beautiful weather to enjoy morning coffee or evening cocktails but the chairs and cushions were extremely dirty. Debris, branches, leaves, dirt everywhere. Not maintained. Neglected. I spent 20 minutes cleaning it just so I could sit and have coffee. The indoor space is actuatlly two levels which is not clear in the description. It is actually two separate spaces. Kitchen, living and 2 bedrooms and bath upstairs and Kitchen living and 2 bedrooms and bath downstairs with some very sketch stairs with no railing. The bedrooms and bathroom downstairs were clean enough although they did not wash the bathroom mats. The downstiars living area was not clean. Debris from previous renters and not a feeling of cleanliness. It is a basement and with that comes a dark, confined feeling with a few spider webs thrown in. The note on the washer dryer upstairs say to use the washer dryer downstairs but the downstairs washer spin cycle didn't work nor did the dryer. The dryer upstairs actually did seem to work ok. The cupboards in both kitchens are full of lots of random miscellaneous items and food left by other renters.
This bungalow is located in the Sugar House neighborhood with a gorgeous nearby park (Sugar House Park). The house looks small from the outside but is much more spacious inside. The neighborhood is very safe and walkable. My husband and I stayed here with our rescue pup for a long weekend while we visited friends in the area. The main level has a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, a small bathroom, and laundry area. The bathroom on the main level is a little cramped, but there is a larger bathroom on the basement level. The fully finished basement includes a kitchenette, bar, lounge area/living room, two bedrooms, and a Jack and Jill bathroom. The steps are a bit awkward and there is no railing, so use caution when descending to the basement level. The backyard has a lot of room for entertaining. The weather was too warm during our stay to have a bonfire, but there is a fire pit with ample seating, an outdoor bar, and a sizable area with additional seating. This pet-friendly house has a doggy door from the kitchen leading into the backyard. There are a few gaps underneath the fence, so we didn’t leave our pup outside unattended. The backyard could use a bit of cleanup. There were leaves and branches left everywhere, but other than that, the property is a great rental! For those staying in winter, there are boot warmers and ample hooks and hardware throughout the house for hanging your ski jackets and gear to dry. We would stay here again!
Nice funky place. It’s on a busy street and a little less pedestrian friendly than I was expecting. You can walk places but you are crossing rather big roads with lots a traffic. There’s some cafes nearby and a nice park within walking distance.
