Backstop Apartment - A top choice for families whose team is playing at All Star Village. (5 stars for 18 years – because we have the best 5 star guests!!) The Backstop Apt. is convenient, yet private. 1.7 mi (3 min) to All Star Ball Village. Restaurants and shopping are very close as well.

Backstop Apartment sits on a 10 acre lot with an awesome view overlooking the surrounding rolling hills of Oneonta. There is a very large, well maintained lawn perfect for yard games, and landscaped with beautiful flowers. Backstop has a wonderful heated inground pool (shared with the Host family) with a Gazebo.

The Backstop Apt.’s interior has very comfortable furnishings and décor, with an open floor plan. There is AC, as well as, ceiling fans in each room The large living room has a large smart TV and electric recliners. It’s open to the eat-in kitchen. Backstop Apartment has all of the conveniences of home with a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, guests have their own grill and outdoor dining area.

There are 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has 2 twin beds. The living room has a pull out futon. The bathroom has a large step up tile shower with frameless glass.

Backstop apartment is all on one floor, for easy living. It is a finished walkout basement apartment off the side of the host's home. Guests have a private entrance to Backstop and parking spot. The Backstop is prepared if there is a power outage with a standby generator.

Your hosts greet and welcome their guests. They will keep in touch and do their best to make sure you enjoy your stay. Otherwise, you will have your complete privacy.

Note: Hosts live in the main part of the house and have 2 friendly Chocolate Labs. Look for the deer who like to visit too.

Great location, host and experience

Our stay at the Backstop Apartment was awesome. The hosts were great, the apartment had everything we needed. The property was beautiful with all sorts of wildlife present. The location was central to Allstar Village and restaurants/downtown. It was a great experience and would stay here again if given the opportunity.

Amazing!

We loved our stay! Tammy and Eddy went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and to make our experience the best! We loved meeting their 2 chocolate labs and swimming in their pool. The house is exactly as described and it is nice and close to ASV. We defiantly recommend their place and if we ever get a chance to go back again their place will be the place to stay.

Great hosts!

We are so glad we found this spot. The location was perfect for the numerous trips to the All Star Village. The hosts were just amazing. So gracious and accommodating. We were just sad we couldn't spend more time to enjoy the property and the pups! Thank you for offering such a great place.

Convenient Location with Pool

This property was less than a 3 minute drive from the ball fields! Very convenient if wanting to go home between games and for early/late games! Owners have a pool which provided an additional activity for the week. We loved Tammy’s warm cookies when we arrived and her baked goods during our stay! She even had organic eggs and creamer for us in the fridge when we arrived. The house was well equipped with what was needed for our trip. Tammy and Eddy were great hosts and checked on us frequently!

Perfect location and experience

Tammy and Eddy make you feel at home the second you meet them. We had some ups and downs in the week and they made everything so easy. We plan to go back with our other son! And it’s two seconds from ASV. Excellent experience.

Ed & Tammy at The Backstop were the most hospitable hosts! They were kind and accommodating. They truly cared about our trip and how our team was doing in the tournament. We hope we get to come back for our younger son in a couple years. 2023 Week 1 Champions - Chino Hills Thunder!

Great Spot with great hosts

We just got home from a week at the Back Stop and it was a terrific place. Just a six minute drive to All Star Village and located in between the baseball festivities and downtown Oneonta which is also just a five minute drive. The apartment is on a really large plot of land with access to the owners pool until 8pm at night. Tammy and Eddy were terrific hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. They even had homemade cookies upon our arrival and Tammy came down with homemade blueberry muffins one day which were fantastic. The apartment has two bedrooms...one with a queen and the other with two twin beds. Also includes a full kitchen and decent size living area. You can see how much care they take for the apartment and experience of the guests. They even have a bunch of all-star village pins on display from all the teams that have stayed. We actually found our team pin there from 4 years back and recognized all the last names from town. A five star experience!

A cozy peaceful retreat!

The Backstop Apartment was everything we needed and more for our week at Cooperstown All Star Village. Tammy and Eddy are incredible hosts and truly treat you like family. It is a perfect size apartment for a family. The air conditioning was so refreshing after long hot days at the ballpark. The pool is delightful. Even though the apartment is attached to the house, you feel completely separate and have all the privacy of a free standing apartment, with the benefit that if you forget something or need something, its very likely that Tammy will have it for you! She literally thinks of everything you could need while you are there. Our friends were staying at the campground near by which seemed fun, but we are super grateful that we had more space, more comfortable beds, full kitchen, central A/C, washer and dryer and inground pool with a deep end. The days at the ballpark are exhausting and this cozy peaceful retreat was just what we needed to recharge. The location is awesome, just minutes to the park so you can easily go back and forth throughout the day which is a bonus. Highly recommend the Backstop apartment!

Warm, welcoming and felt like home!

We enjoyed our stay at the backstop apartment. Tammy and her family were so gracious and went above and beyond for us. She provided baby items such as a playpen, high chair and toys since we had traveled from California. Her welcome sign and fresh baked cookies we a sweet touch. The house was comfortable, amenities perfect for our needs and the location so close to All Star Village making our commute to watch all the games easy. Our son enjoyed the pool and loved the dogs. If you are looking for warm and welcoming accommodations, convenience and comfort look no further! This is the rental for you. If we come back to Cooperstown in 4 years with our other son we will definitely try to book the backstop apartment again!

A wonderful stay in an immaculate apartment hosted by a wonderful couple!!

I highly recommend staying at the Backstop!! Tammy and Ed welcomed us with homemade cookies and a tour of the apartment and outdoor area. One day we got farm fresh eggs too. They even made a sheet of favorite restaurants for the local area. We had Pizzaland pizza twice during our stay and it was delicious pizza! We dined in once too and it had a great family atmosphere. Tammy and Ed were available for anything we needed, although everything was perfect with the apartment and pool. An immaculate space with every convenience of home. My family enjoyed the warm pool that we were able to use even on days in the 70s! We loved meeting their family, grandchildren and dogs Sadie & Hank. Their beautiful home was surrounded with wildlife with an incredible view of the mountains. We watched deer, squirrels and ducks. I felt so at home there and are so appreciative of this wonderful experience for us and especially my son that played at AllStar Village. Thank you Tammy & Ed for the awesome baseball memories!!

Amazing!!

This is your home away from home.. seriously!!! From the minute we arrived Tammy and Ed greeted you like family. We even had fresh baked cookies for our arrival. The property is beautiful and set up to meet your needs. Full kitchen, washer and dryer and full stand up shower, outdoor grilling area and pool. They even have basic items to get you started. We loved the daily messages on the board outside our door. They really treat you like family. I can’t say that enough. If you need something Tammy responds quickly. They also check in on your stay to make sure you have what you need and to see how your ballplayer is doing. I also loved how they had a list of recommended places to eat, ice cream shops and stores. Being from Florida this was super helpful. There is nothing I would change about our stay. The backstop is located less than four minutes away from all star village which was great for when our games were at night. Over all it was the best experience ever. We hope to come back in several years when it’s time with my little one.
