Location. Location. Location. CONVIVIO APARTMENT is your/our home in Florence, surrounded by the most famous art treasures of the world, right at the door. Live in a 13th century building, in the historic heart of the city. The apartment is charmingly furnished, with every modern convenience: WiFi, reverse cycle air-conditioning, cook's kitchen with dishwasher & double sink.
Free maps, Smart TV, books, music & DVDs. It is 2 minutes from the Uffizzi Gallery, the famous Duomo, the Pitti Palace, the famous Straw Market, the Gold Market on the Ponte Vecchio. The little street gives onto Piazza della Signoria, but is closed to traffic & therefore is calm & quiet.

You are surrounded by every service -- cafes, bars, restaurants, cinema, food shops and more. We also have someone to meet you on arrival and explain all about the apartment -- keys, heating etc. and to be available for any other queries you may have.

Live like a Florentine: Amenities: 18 ft paneled and vaulted ceilings. Large sitting-room with sofa-bed with innerspring mattress, two large three-seater sofas & ottoman.
Huge master bedroom with comfortable King bed which can be made up as two singles.
2nd bedroom/study with very comfortable Queen sofabed.
Dining room seats 6, furnished with an elegant blend of modern and traditional, and with beautiful crockery, glassware etc.
Kitchen with marble bench tops, dishwasher, double sink etc. Great oven and stove. High quality utensils,
New, modern, white and blue tiled bathroom with new fixtures and washing-machine.

Fully serviced before and after each guest, or weekly for longer stays.
We have a full and comprehensive sanitising and hygiene routine for every aspect of your stay.

NO ELEVATOR: The apartment is on what is called the first floor it Italy, but is really the second floor because there is a mezzanine in between. There is no elevator because the building is 800 years old and is under heritage laws that don't allow it. There are three flights of steps with landings in between. They are not difficult, but they are NOT suitable for anyone with mobility issues.


Florence is the ideal base for exploring much of Italy. High-speed trains take you to Rome and Milan in a couple of hours. Half an hour to Bologna.
Day-trips to many of the beautiful towns and villages ofTuscany, Reggio-Emilia and Umbria, which are only an hour or so away by train and car.

Tariff is all-inclusive, with no seasonal variations and no extras of any kind.

A week in Florence
The apartment is very large and well equipped and situated right in the historic centre of Florence and so we were able to walk everywhere. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable and Janine had provided a lot of very useful tips and information, that we made use of. The weather was very nice as well and Florence itself is a beautiful and historic city, with plenty to see (despite there being a lot of tourists there, this week; numbers were comparable to Venice). On the negative side, the housekeeper that met us and let us into the apartment, on the first night, was very brusque and unfriendly. Rather than taking a little time to show us how to use important things, such as the air conditioning, worked, she seemed to be more interested in leaving as soon as possible, rather than helping us and that, after we had been travelling all day. She shouldn’t be doing that job, as she clearly doesn’t enjoy it and it was a bad and unnecessary start to our holiday. The street outside the bedroom of the apartment can be noisy, (despite the double glazing) into the early hours of the morning, from two bars close by and from revellers. In addition, a municipal truck ? cleaning the streets, made a loud noise at 5 am, lasting for at least 20 minutes, waking up the whole street.

Lovely apartment and fantastic location
The apartment had everything we needed for a lovely week in Florence. Janine gave us loads of helpful information in advance of our stay. The area outside was busy but once in the apartment, it was a beautiful relaxing space. The location was brilliant, we loved being able to walk to all the main attractions.

Super Charming!
Had a great stay - super place with loads of character and it felt like someone's lovely home. All the life of a place someone has lived in for years. To get to the main bedroom you have to walk through the second bedroom - so if you get up and go to the kitchen or bathroom you have to go through it. not ideal and not super clear from the listing, but also not a massive deal (just best be prepared for it as it might not be particularly nice if it is two couples)

A slice of history in central Florence
Great location for all the sights and fascinating to stay in a medieval property. Had a great homely feel and spacious for 1/2 people. Host very helpful and welcoming via e mail prior. Felt safe staying alone. As central location I expected some noise and fortunately my body clock suits a 10am-2am schedule. Would definitely stay again and recommend.would suggest a more generous allowance than just one hand towel and one bath towel.

We were very happy with our stay at the Convivio. The location was within easy walking distance to everything in the city center. Lots of nice restaurants, markets and wine bars just steps away from the apartment. The apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Apartment was in the middle of the action in the oldest section of Florence. Apartment was spacious and very clean. It was easy to get around and find sites of interest and restaurants. Owner was very helpful with information and suggestions. Property manager was excellent. The only negatives is that the dwelling is up 40 steep steps so hard to get suitcases up to and down from the apartment. Also,the interior was on the dark side. Not much sunlight since it is surrounded by large buildings on all sides.

Exactly as advertised - four minute walk to Uffizi Gallery in one direction, four minutes to Cathedral in the other. The host provided a lot of information before the visit so I knew where to eat, buy groceries and suggestions for trips in and around Florence. The manager was also very helpful. I recommend this place as a great base for a visit to Florence.

Stunning apartment and location
My husband and i loved this apartment. It is so beautiful and filled with floretine touches, we felt immersed in the culture. Our host Jan was in constant communication as we planned our stay and provided details for excursions, sites and local trattoria's. The house manager Rosemary was attentive and even reached out to us during our stay. She was so responsive with our questions amd even helped provide support in transportation and where we could attend mass. One note to American guests, the reference to the 1st floor in Italy is actually one flight up. In Italy the floors begin at 0. We were most impressed with how close everything is...literally a fruit stand outside the front door, gelato, sandwiches, market and the pizzaria, which we visited three times! The museums and plazas we within walki g distance, and even the train station. All in all a wonderful experience.

A Florentine Oasis
This was a fantastic apartment in the centre of Florence. Everything you need is within minutes and all the premier attractions are within an easy walk. The apartment is full of character and charm and provides an escape when you need it. All the facilities are first rate including a great hot shower. The owners are extraordinarily helpful. I will certainly be returning.

We stayed at convivio for 5 nights in May. The apartment is gorgeous and central to all the major sights to see. Well equiped and very roomy, It was by far the nicest place we stayed in Italy. I would highly recommend a stay here to friends and family. Thank you Jan for having us

A private haven right in the heart of the bustling city
It's hard to imagine how quickly you leave the busy city behind, but as soon as you open the big wooden door and go up the stairs to the apartment, you've come home. From the incredible high ceilings with the curved corners to the historic details throughout the home, you can see that the owner relishes living in Florence. Everyone of her recommendations was invaluable and appreciated. The apartment is perfectly furnished and well supplied. We are delighted that she agreed to share it with us.

Location is awesome
The communication we had with the owner was some of the best we have had in decades of renting vacation apartments. The apartment was larger than we had expected and everything was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare occasional meals - although with all the nice restaurants in the very close vicinity, not done as often as planned. The only caveat - and it is clearly stated in the listing - are the stairs. We are seniors and although we didn't have too much trouble, we did limit our comings and goings. I would still stay in this lovely apartment again for as long as I can manage the stairs.

Awesome location. Shops and restaurants surround the location and only 1.5 blocks from Duomo Square. Owner and manager were very proactive. It does get loud some nights. It is just a half block from a bar that is open very late and the noise bounces off all the stone and masonry down the street. Lots of good instructions on how to use all the appliances. Main problem problem with flat is that the twin beds have week springs such that you are prone to roll to one side or the other. And "first floor" is not ground floor in Florence. Roughly two flights of stairs to the flat.

Florence find
This was the most beautiful VRbO property we have ever stayed in. It was magical! The decor and ambiance set the mood for the beautiful city of Florence. It was old world but had modern amenities. It was huge and very reasonably priced for the size and area of town. We could walk anywhere within 5 to 10 minutes, Even though it was in the middle of the city, the windows shut very tightly and blocked out all of the noise. We absolutely loved staying here and will hopefully stay again.

Home in the heart of historic Florence
Florence was unusually crowded for October, but we had a couple of things going for us that made it much easier to tolerate the crowds. First was a lot of advance planning and ordering tickets to the most popular sites scheduled for early morning. Second was always knowing we had Convivio Apartment to come home to whenever we needed a break. With such an amazingly convenient location, we were seldom more than 10-15 minutes away from our "home". Once there, in the ancient but comfortable and spacious rooms, we still felt immersed in the city. We were very grateful to Janine for sharing the apartment where she lives for part of the year.

Best Location
This property is right in middle of everything! You can walk to everywhere and I’m over 65. Fruit stand downstairs wonderful! Owner unbelieveablely responsive. Here is a tip if you rent this place. GPS sketchy in Florence. If you rent this place and see horse’s ass in Senior plaza, you are on right street. Go see Galileo museum. Better than uffize. Then again I am an engineer.

This area is the beating heart of the historic centre of Florence. The Middle Ages and Renaissance make the Florence we know, but it was also a Roman city. You can walk everywhere. Food, wine, museums and art are all right on the doorstep.
