Truly a wonderful stay! Our apartment was charming, comfortable, clean and quiet. Our host was very helpful and the location was 10/10. I cannot wait to return!
Great location! It felt like we lived in the neighborhood. The terrace was wonderful - every late afternoon/evening we had a glass of wine, listened to the church bells and watched the swifts. Gaia & everyone made us feel welcome and cared for.
The apartment is better in person…Gaia and Jimmy were great hosts…Very clean… A/C worked fine…It is exactly what you want when visited Florence…Great location…Busy… But apartment is very quiet…
This apartment was very cute and comfortable. It was centrally located in Florence, very close to the Duomo and many restaurants, etc. The view from the terrace was amazing. The elevator was much appreciated also. The host, Gaia, was very helpful meeting us at check-in and assisting with whatever we needed.
Overall, it's a serviceable base for exploring if the location is your priority but go in with adjusted expectations on space and comfort. We stayed here as one stop on a two-week trip through Italy. As American travelers, we found the space noticeably smaller than what we're used to — less of an adjustment for guests from other parts of Europe or Asia, but worth flagging for fellow US visitors. The building is historic and has charm, but that came with real trade-offs.Cons:- Bathroom was mid-remodel during our stay, makeshift shower curtain, had to follow the host's instructions for catching water. Listing shouldn't have been active before this was finished.- Twin bed was extremely hard, almost like a wood platform, painful on the hips if you sleep on your side- Required to pay the Italian tourist tax in cash directly to the host, rather than through the platform (like our other VRBO rental)- Unit is very small- Ceiling leaked during a rainstorm- WiFi only reached the living room/kitchen, not the bedrooms- Decor felt dated and a bit unwelcoming (lots of orange)- Towels were thin and scratchyPros:- Excellent location, walkable to great food and sights- Quiet at night- AC worked well- Small elevator on-site (with some stairs to reach it)
This apartment is in a prime location. Easily accessible to shopping, food and drink, and tours. Even in a high traffic area, the apartment is very quiet (with the exception of church bells lol).
We loved the terrace, sipping wine and watching the sunset after a long day of touring. Location, location, location! Perfect location, less than two blocks from the Central Market, near great restaurants and the train and bus stations. Private, quiet, A/C and elevator too.
Gaia was a great host and was very accommodating and helpful. The apartment was in a great location for walking to everything we did. Grocery stores, restaurants, and a pharmacy were close by. We felt very safe at the apartment and the elevator was very helpful for moving our luggage on check-in and checkout. We will definitely plan to stay here again when we go back to Florence.
Although the description said there was a lift and there was, it did not say there were 7-8 concrete stairs to get to the lift and then 6-7 fairly steep stairs to reach the hall that led to the unit. For those of us who have issues with stairs, it was certainly problematic.Although sets of towels were laid out, there was only one bath towel per guest. In the closet there was a sign over additional towels and linens saying do not touch. Additional towels would be 5 each and 10 for linens.
We were there 2 weeks and loved the place. Great location to everything. The view is great! There is an elevator! This is great since it’s on the 3rd floor.Excellent security.
Couldn't beat the location of the place, central to everything. Gaia met us when we arrived, went over things in the unit. Everything was clean and in working order.
Really enjoyed our stay!
The welcome was charming, and we loved the little flat, especially the terrace with the double-dome view. San Lorenzo is an exciting area- you need not go far for glorious sights to see.
Gaia was a phenomenal host and the space was perfect for our needs. Her apartment is a beautiful family home right in the heart of everything. We truly appreciated all that it offered. Be sure to check out her husband's leather shop downstairs. The best in Tuscany!!
This is a great place for a couple to stay. We had every we needed. It was comfortable, clean and ideally situated close to the Duomo and other tourist locations.
Really liked the location (close enough to the train station that it was fairly easy to wheel the luggage there). Gaia was very easy to deal with, met us on our arrival and helped with where to find local stuff.
