About this property

Fox Hall - Walk to Moosehead Lake Access & Town - Hike/ATV/Boat/Kayak/Etc

Built in the 1890's, this Folk Victorian has been restored to honor its history while bringing in a modern North Woods feel. A 3 minute walk to lake access at the end of road and about a 5 minute walk to downtown Greenville or Stobie Airbase. Quiet tree-lined street to serve as your base for boating, ATVing, hiking, birding, and exploring the Moosehead Lake region.

A careful removal and replacement of the original stair railing permitted king size beds to be added to the two large upstairs bedrooms. The third bedroom holds a queen size bed. There is a full bath upstairs and downstairs plus a mudroom for storing boots and gear off the kitchen. The spacious living room and dining room area with its inviting forest mural will serve as a wonderful respite when you come in from your adventures.

The backyard contains apple trees and flower gardens - a beautiful spot to enjoy a cookout. And there's plenty of room to park your boat/trailer/ATVs plus cars. Property is on ATV access so no need to trailer, just unload and go! Public boat ramp access is just a 7 minute drive over to Greenville Junction. A few minutes walk to the end of the road brings you to a swim beach and canoe/kayak access to the lake.

This home contains original stained glass windows, millwork from the 1890's and vintage taxidermy. This would make a wonderful retreat for writers or artists seeking nature and quiet while still having easy access to town. Convenient to lots of hiking and biking opportunities as well.

This property is not available for large groups, parties, or events.

Close to Town

We enjoyed the convenience of walking to town. The house was clean and nicely decorated, warm and comfortable. We’d love to stay again next time we’re in town.

Fox Hall is our gathering place for family and friends. It's in the perfect location for ATVing as you can leave right from the driveway - plus there's ample parking for the trailers. We love the proximity to the boat launch and the hiking trails. You can also walk to town and enjoy dinner and cocktails. Or ice cream! This is our vacation destination but we can't be here all the time, so we're willing to share it with a few others who love the outdoors but still want a lovely place to stay in the heart of Greenville on Moosehead Lake.

Why they chose this property

We chose this location because there's public access to the lake at the end of the street and we are just a few minute walk to town. The street is quiet and secluded and the house has a great backyard for cookouts and hanging out.

What makes this property unique

It's close to everything Greenville has to offer but still gives you a bit of woodsy privacy. No need to trailer ATVs, just drive them off your trailer and away you go. The boat launch is about a 5 minute drive. Multi-use and hiking trails are minutes away. The public beach with lifeguards (Red Cross) is a three minute drive and you can swim (unguarded) at the public access at the end of the street (2 minute walk).

There are three bedrooms, two with King beds and one with a Queen. Two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. Open living room and dining area.
