The Gatsby - a 1920s Speakeasy abode in the heart of Downtown Tuscaloosa!

Welcome to The Gatsby!

Take a step back into time, and stay in our 1920s Art Deco speakeasy-themed loft. The Prohibition Era was such an interesting time in our history, and we have tried to capture this snapshot in time at The Gatsby. Upon arrival, you must ascend 27 stairs (there is no elevator).

The Location:
When staying at The Gatsby, you will find yourself in the heart of Downtown Tuscaloosa overlooking the magnificent and bustling University Blvd and Greensboro Ave. Intersection. Walk to bars, restaurants, convenience stores, shopping, and more! Just 1 mile from Bryant Denny stadium!

Sleeping & Bathrooms:
There are 2 King Beds & 1 Twin futon and 2 full bathrooms. This unit can sleep up to 8 (4 + kids). Read details on how it can sleep 8. The rooms at The Gatsby are smaller scale & historic rooms.

Game Room Area: Futon with full bath across from it.
Optional Beds: 1 Sectional Sofa and 2 conversational sofas (meant for people under 5'2")

Outdoor Fun:
There is a covered, screened-in porch with comfortable seating, ceiling fan, TV, fire-pit and more! This space overlooks Temerson Square, so you will be privy to lots of activity and marvelous people watching.

Parking:
There is no designated parking, as you are in a loft space in Downtown, facing University Blvd. After 5PM, you are able to park anywhere on University Blvd, but during the day, you will get towed after 2 hrs. You are nearby to a public parking garage that you are able to utilize, or we recommend an Uber/Lyft. Once you arrive, you should not need a car as you are walking distance to everything, or could get a golf cart shuttle.

We are here to make your stay a wonderful one. We know we’ve done our job well when you ask about coming back to stay with us again. We love having repeat guests, because it feels like family or close friends coming home for a visit. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions!

*Check-in time is 4:00pm CST, unless prior written permission has been granted by management. Early check-ins are available upon request, pending availability. There’s a $50 charge per hour, plus tax/fees. Please note, we are unable to confirm an early check-in until 24-48 hours prior to arrival as the property is still open for booking.*

*There are exterior security cameras located at the front and back of the property. These devices may not be tampered with, covered, or unplugged by guests.*

*All reservations made within 2 weeks of date of arrival are subject to require in person Government Issued ID verification.*

*If your selected property offers the use of (trundle beds, upper bunks of bunk beds, roll-aways, futons, or flip sofas) these beds will not be made up in advance. Linens are provided and should be stored with these beds.*

*Please be aware that upon booking, you will be required to sign the Bama Vacation Rentals forms and submit photo ID verification directly with our property management company texting system called AKIA. This will also be the primary platform used for communication.*

*For stays that are longer than 2 weeks, please be aware that you will be charged an additional cleaning fee. All properties are required to be cleaned and inspected every other week.*
