About this property
AlpLily Inn~Bright, Spacious, Historic room
The Amphitheater Suite is just what you've been looking for during your stay in Ouray. Family owned/operated. This cozy suite is located on Main St, just blocks from trailheads, shops and restaurants. Only a 3/4 mile walk or drive to the renowned Ouray Hot Springs Pool. Jen will be your host and is knowledgable about the area and can give you all the pointers you need to live like a local during your stay in Ouray. Due to the age of the building, it's suitable for children 12 and up only.
The space
The home was originally built in 1890 and was the childhood home of Colorado's 31st governor William Knous. The home was then owned by a nurse who worked at the local miners hospital. It operated as business front and boarding house for many years until the current owner purchased the home in 2015. It's just a short walk up the hill to the infamous Ice Park and Ouray Via Ferrata. The building sits below the launch site for the 4th of July and New Year's Eve fireworks and gives an up close experience of the events! This quaint, clean and comfortable accommodation offers the perfect respite following your outdoor adventures!
The house has been renovated to incorporate modern comforts, however much of the original charm is preserved. The upstairs bedrooms were transformed into spacious guest suites with private baths. The rooms are bright and airy and offer amazing views of the Amphitheater and Box Canyon.
Refunds will not be issued due to weather.
