Loved the house location and it all especially the sunsets and sunrises
We gp side by siding with our friends from nack home and love it up on Maine till next year
The perfect spot for our family with children to have to relax and spend lots of time in the water! Close enough to great little towns while also being secluded enough to get a real getaway. We hope to be back!
This place is paradise! Quiet and private. Unlimited swimming, sunbathing and fishing. The cottage has everything you need for comfort. The host was super easy to contact and went above and beyond to make sure put stay was perfect.
Small house tucked away on a beautiful pond in the pristine Maine wilderness. Rural enough to disconnect but close enough to town and attractions nearby. Well kept, reasonably priced, all the amenities of home, and great communication with the host. Would recommend!
This property is perfect! So relaxing and comfortable. The host is very accommodating and quickly responded to messages. The fishing and swimming were great. Tons of toys for the littles. A wonderful experience all around. Can't wait to go back!
We loved waking up every morning with a view of the pond from our bed. Coffee on the glassed in porch was a morning ritual, looking out on the pond and listening to the birds and critters in the pine trees. There are screen windows that can be opened for fresh air and listening to the wildlife including the wailing of the loons. Having access to the pedal boat and kayaks was wonderful. The deck is perfect for grilling and eating outside on the table, couches and various chairs. The cottage is 12 miles from Bethel, making it an easy ride to the grocery store, restaurants, and a world class gem and mineral museum. The owners, Cynara and Stacy were a pleasure, always helpful and responsive to our needs. I would highly recommend renting this cottage anytime of the year. Skiing in the winter and swimming and kayaking in the summer- you just can’t beat it.
Sweet Cottage by the Lake. Awesome Screened-in Porch :)
My friend and I love to just get away with our dogs, from the craziness of everyday life. This sweet cottage with a screened-in porch was just what we needed. The owners cottage is so warm and inviting. Loved that we didn't have to bring extra towels & linens for us, just some extra for the pups. All our needs were met. Cynara is an awesome host and answered all questions we may of had about the property and amenities. My friend Nancy and I just fell in love with the porch overlooking the lake. This was where we and our pups spend most of time just sitting & relaxing or napping & watching the beautiful sunsets over the lake. So serene. Nancy fell in love with the daybed and I loved the blue sofa on the porch. This cozy porch was our happy place. We didn't even turn on the TV all the time we were there. Home away from Home. Thank you so much to our wonderful Host for sharing this special place with visitors like my friend and I. We hope to come and stay again in the near future. Nancy & Linda & pups from Maine xox
Everything was so easy for checking in! The house was very well stocked with anything you would need. There were even extras just in case you forgot something like a tooth brush shampoo etc... Everything was neat and tidy when we arrived! The fishing on the pond was great! Caught plenty of bass and pickerel! Plenty of hiking to do nearby! And the best part was we were able to bring our two pups with us! They had a blast on the pond! The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with! Would definitely love to visit again!
This was the second summer in a row our family (with two young kids and dog) stayed at this wonderful cottage. Can't say enough how much we look forward to this trip every year - a quiet private setting on a beautiful pond, lots of day trip options for any interests and truly the greatest most accommodating hosts we've ever had the pleasure of communicating with!
From the minute we pulled in after a 7 hour drive until the minute we pulled away from this gem (sadly), we felt our shoulders drop and release of stress. Having an extremely stressful year back home, this beautiful cottage was exactly what we needed. The host was nothing shy of attentive, friendly, ( had the pleasure of meeting her), helpful ( made repairs immediately), and an absolute pleasure to deal with. She made us feel welcome through text and immediately responded to my numerous questions even before I booked! I am not only going to miss this beautiful , tranquil place, but I will also miss the sweetest neighbor that joined us every night for hours of stories, history , and lots of laughs. Thank you from the bottom of my entire families heart for all you did for us to make this not only a much needed getaway, but also filling our week with lifelong memories. We WILL be back for certain!!
Nice setting, comfortable lodging, quiet area, trails, wildlife. Perfect!
The hosts went above and beyond with their own hens eggs left for us, a welcome basket for the dog, (although he has no teeth so he did not indulge!), And a care package if we forgot toiletries!
Great place ! Waterfront cottage close to Sunday river, mt Abram , great for family vacation to the woods!

We are a couple of moms, 3 kids, and a whole bunch of pets living happily in rural maine, about 30 minutes from the pond cottage. We love paddling, swimming, hiking, skiing, sledding and ice skating and feel lucky to live in a place where we can enjoy the outdoors all year long.
Why they chose this property
Our sweet cottage is so peaceful and private and we feel our shoulders start to release some tension as we turn onto the long wooded road that leads to the house. The sunroom is our favorite room. We sit here reading, knitting, doing puzzles, listening to podcasts while we chat, enjoy the water views and look for loons and moose out on the pond. Our kids discovered their love for swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking here and we can watch them from lots of cozy spots for grown-ups to perch. The large pond is very sparsely populated with only a few houses bordering it. The pond itself is very calm, clean and there is no strong current. We find the natural setting to be so healing, especially when accompanied by a washer/dryer, excellent water pressure, central heat / window air conditioners and full kitchen. We love how secluded the cottage feels while being only 20 minutes from Bethel and Norway centers, excellent restaurants and so many fun activities.
What makes this property unique
Private dock, wildlife, use of kayaks, life jackets, paddle board, pedal boat. Also BONUS BEDROOM! There is a lovely bedroom with two twin beds in a newly finished room in the detached (but very close) garage. We have not yet used this room in winter and it has a convection panel heater so we are considering it a 1 Bedroom for the colder months. During the warmer months it is a great spot for extra guests.
