If you are expecting a Hilton, you are going to be dissapointed. This stay has the basics to enjoy the simpleness of nature that surrounds you. We relaxed in the chilled cabin

Super helpful host. Goes way beyond expectations to accommodate your stay. The cabin is clean and close to town. The property is easy to find even at night.
Very Cozy feels like a family guest house. Very Welcoming.
We will definitely come back here. It feels like a family Guest house. Love the old things around & the little Hot Tub was so nice on a rainy Saturday. The s’mores were delicious. So glad I found this one.

We were so happy to have you all as guests at The Hunter's Cabin, and cannot wait for you two to return! Blessings!
Another successful anniversary trip to this little Cabin in the Woods. We absolutely love this place and are already planning our trip for next year. This time we took advantage of the outdoor grill and went over to the pond to use the fire pit for S'mores. As long as we are able, we will continue to go back.

Matches the description very well. Pretty much an old hunters cabin or cowboy house. Secluded and in the woods made for very nice privacy and the views you get looking over the country side while bbqing were nice in the evenings. Hot tub was relaxing and they cooked us an amazing breakfast!! Definitely worth it and was tempting to even ask for more. Overall was great.

Hello Pat! Thank you so much for your review. While we appreciate it, we can confirm that your stay was absolutely free. You paid, and then stayed for two nights. The booking was confirmed for 2 people. You called me 4 times upon arrival, and I guided you on the phone while you were lost on your travel from out of state to our cabin. You called upon arrival, and complained about the television. We had maintenance arrive on site within 5 minutes to address the issue. On the 1st full day of your stay you brought back a 3rd guest, and then stayed for another night. We did not charge you for this extra guest. After checkout, housekeeping confirmed that you three left trash throughout our cabin. We did not charge you extra for the trash. Two days after your stay, you called your credit card company and stated you did not stay, that the charge was fraudulent. We are currently in the waiting period while VRBO sends our proof of your stay to your credit card company. We are happy you enjoyed your free Organics and free Smore's Bar.
Have a blessed day, Pat.
We had a few encounters with the big red bees in fire pit and around the hot tub. A curtain would of been nice in the bedroom and fluffier pillows. The breakfast was great. Our overall experience was awesome! Scenery was pretty as well, and Mrs. April kept communication easy and prompt to answer all my questions, WE DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE AND COME BACK FOR ANOTHER ESCAPE. THANK YOU AGAIN

Thank you so much for your stay! We are in a drought unfortunately so wildlife is just flocking to any water source. We will remediate the wasp nest issue that we missed. We will add blinds as well. It is such a beautiful view on the private secluded ranch, we wanted guests to wake up with the sunrise. We will definitely look forward to another booking from you! Thank you so much for your cleanliness and care in our country cabin! Blessings, Melissa!
A great cabin to stay at. The location of the cabin provides plenty of privacy. The king size bed is comfortable. The kitchen provides the basics that you need. The fridge is a bit smaller than the picture. The WiFi didn’t work but me and the wife didn’t come to the hill country for that. The hot tub was clean but we didn’t get a chance to use it. The same with the charcoal grill we didn’t get a chance to use it but it looked usable.
Overall, the stay was nice. I was surprised that the hot tub water was brown and the bottom/sides were a little slimy.
The hot water in the shower faded in and out and we wished the gate was electronic entry. We also were expecting the “s’mores bar” talked about in the listing, but the “heater” was on top of the entertainment center & the EMPTY (& dirty) caddy & marshmallow sticks were in the pantry.
Other than those things, we got what we were looking for, a quiet, secluded place to unwind & relax after the holidays.

Thank you so much for your review Kelly. Our cleaning team cleaned the hot tub prior to your stay. At your checkout, the filter top was floating in the hot tub, and you left the hot tub in a very dirty condition. Thankfully we were able to fix the filter and drain the hot tub to reclean, and did not charge you extra for this.
Our listing does not state a booking comes with smores ingredients. I am sorry a wooden box was dirty while it has been sitting in a cabinet unused in a 100 year old cabin.
Also, you two lost our entry key to the cabin, and this required maintenance scheduling 3 times to install a new lock on the front door. You were not charged the $50 lost key fee according to our policies.
Our cabin is not the Hilton. It is quirky and unique. We love it, as do 100's of other guests. It is peaceful, quiet, and vintage. And in a country setting that is not for the faint of heart.
Blessings to you,
April

Hunter cabin adventure
At first we thought that everything was going to be ok. Then the adventure began . Everything was falling apart and what wasn't falling apart didn't work . Everything was dirty floors haven't been swept freezer on fridge was a solid block of ice .Tried to open the cabinet and the handle was barley stuck on and fell off in my hand . Not to mention the ants that had invaded the kitchen. The washer would work but the dryer door was busted . It was supposed to be a special trip for me and my daughter and at first she was all about trying to make it work but after 3 days she finally threw in the towel and told me dad can we just go . So we left after 3 days and I paid for 4. I think we both just wanted that part of the trip over . I / we won't be back .

Hello Jim! What an adventure y'all had! Had you reached out at ANY point during your stay, we would have remediated any issues you were having on the spot. I did not receive any notice of any issues during your stay. We noticed the kitchen window left open during cleaning at checkout, this could have been why you found a few sugar ants. The dryer use is for housekeeping only. I apologize for the freezer, we will remedy. You had access to the other freezer on the porch, which also has ice. Our cabin is a 100 year old cabin. It is not the Hilton. It is meant for country-folks looking for a relaxing getaway in the gorgeous hills. We appreciate your input, but please reach out during your stays so hosts can fix any issues immediately.

More for hunters i think
There was some pros and cons.
First when we got there our check in was at 3pm, we got there at 3:10 byt weren't able to get into the property until 3:30pm because it wasn't ready.
The cabin is really old, and to be honest we past drive hy it thinking theres no way thats the one.
The jacuzzi that they advertise its an inflatable one which is not a big deal, the thing is that we couldn't get in it of how dirty it was, it had a really strong chemical odor and water was super slamy, so we just skipped it, which i was super disappointed because that was the only why i choose that property.
The bed had bedbugs and blankets smelled so bad.
We didnt make a big deal because we only stayed there one night and honestly we wanted to focus on each other in our anniversary night, honestly didn't feel like arguing and wasting my time making phone calls.
The only good thing was the privacy and the amount of land that this property is on, so peaceful and quiet.
I wouldn't stay there again.

Hello Robert! What an eventful time you had. If you would have reached out to us at any time, maintenance could have remediated ANY issues immediately. We never received any complaints and this is the first time hearing of this unfortunately.
As the listing states, this is a cabin. A 100 year old cabin at that, and not the Hilton. The mattress is new and covered. There is zero possibility of bed bugs. The chemical odor is called chlorine and necessary in a public hot tub or pool. Again, had you contacted management at any point, we could have drained and recleaned the hot tub. You failed to initial our liability form on time. We cannot disclose our check in codes until this was accepted and initialed by you. Once you accepted and initialed our form, you were givien access to the property.
Yes. The cabin is rustic. It is an amazing one of a kind cabin set in the gorgeous hills.
Blessings to you and your travels.
We reserved this cabin to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. The initial search criteria were: king bed and outdoor jacuzzi. Then we scrolled through tons of properties looking for lots of privacy and close little town with historical interest no more than a 3 hour drive from our home. We found this little gem that delivered on every filter. Being from the city, the peace and quiet of the area was calming. Seeing all the deer surrounding the property was beautiful. We are native Texans and still learned history that we did not know from the little town of Bandera. This "Hunters Cabin" was exactly what we wanted. Now for the small negatives: bring your own towels and washcloths (especially if you plan to use the Jacuzzi). The ones provided were a little on the thin side for our tastes. The toilet paper was even thinner. There were no full-size dinner plates and if I hadn't of brought my own skillet we would have had challenges preparing our own planned breakfast. If you plan to use the outdoor jacuzzi bring bug spray to battle the mosquitoes (it's Texas, after all). We used "Yard Guard" which worked fairly well. Back to the positives: we think this may become an annual favorite place for us; that's how much we loved it. The hosts were extremely responsive.

Thank you Donna! We will see about upgrading our towels. It can be so hard because some of the time they go missing. We purchase our toilet paper in bulk, so we can supply guests with extra rolls. We will add larger dinner plates for larger meals. We are so thrilled you two enjoyed your stay. We hope you enjoyed the freshly picked wildflowers and fresh Organic produce! Many blessings and we hope to host you two again next year!
