We highly recommend renting a car, regardless of where you stay on the island.
Although Aruba is relatively small, walking can be uncomfortable due to the tropical heat and strong sun—especially when carrying beach chairs, coolers, towels, or groceries. Many roads also have limited sidewalks, and some areas are quite dark after sunset.
Taxi service is reliable and readily available, but it can become expensive for larger groups.
If you plan on visiting beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, or exploring different parts of the island, renting a car is often the most convenient and economical option. It gives you complete flexibility to discover Aruba's beautiful beaches, hidden gems, restaurants, and attractions at your own pace.
