The Space
This 3,700+ square foot farmhouse features five spacious bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and multiple living areas designed with both comfort and connection in mind. The home easily accommodates up to 16 guests, with a layout ideal for large families, multi-generational groups, or event guests who want to stay close to the action—but still enjoy peace and privacy.

Main Floor:

Cozy living room with fireplace
Multiple seating areas and plenty of natural light
Bedrooms and full bathrooms for easy main-level access

Finished Basement:
Large sectional couch and entertainment space
Family-friendly games and activities
Bonus sleeping areas in the office and exercise room
Additional full bathroom and laundry area

Outdoor Highlights:
Step outside and soak in the fresh air, scenic views, and gentle pace of the countryside. Sip your morning coffee on the front porch, gather around the fire pit under the stars, or explore the surrounding trails that wind through meadows and wooded areas—all right on the property.

Events & The Black Barn
The farmhouse is part of the Black Barn at Stone Creek event venue. The adjacent Black Barn and getting-ready suite are available to rent separately for weddings, celebrations, or retreats. If not booked as part of your stay, these spaces will remain locked and private. Please contact us in advance if you’re interested in adding the event space to your reservation.

Guest Access
During your stay, you’ll have full access to the entire farmhouse, including all indoor and outdoor living spaces, the fire pit, and the walking trails throughout the 40-acre property. The barn and getting-ready suite are not included unless specifically reserved.

Interaction with Guests
We’re just a phone call or email away if you have any questions before or during your stay. Our local property manager also lives nearby and is available to assist with any urgent needs or on-site support if necessary. We want your stay to be seamless, restful, and worry-free.

Things to Note

The property is located on an active event venue, so there may occasionally be activity near the barn during weekends. However, your stay will remain peaceful and private unless you’ve reserved the event space as part of your booking.

We kindly ask that all guests respect the natural setting, quiet hours, and the serenity of the space. This is a place for rest, reflection, and meaningful time together.

Ample parking is available on-site.

Please inquire directly if you’re interested in hosting a special event during your stay.

Why Guests Love It Here
From wedding weekends to holiday reunions to quiet retreats, our guests often tell us that staying here feels like stepping away from the noise and into something simpler and more grounding. With room to gather and space to breathe, the Black Barn Farmhouse is more than a place to stay—it’s a place to connect.

Amazing Mom/Daughter Retreat Stay!

We brought 12 moms and young daughters out to Blackbarn at Stone Creek and stayed in the lovely farmhouse for a 2-night stay. We all loved the accommodations and how many bedrooms there were, how clean the house was, how "homey" it was and the property was just beautiful! Communication with Heidi was super easy and she was very accommodating and helping and was very quick at returning my messages. We hope to be back!

Fabulous Girls Weekend Get Away

What a beautiful home and property. Perfect for our girls weekend. Pet friendly and well stocked with everything you need for a perfect long weekend. Private and expansive property with trails, Firepit for roasting marshmallows and lots of room to roam. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Lots of fun activities close by. We went on a wonderful winery tour with Miami County Winery Tours.

Annual Guys Weekend - Firepits/BBQ/Golf

Property was wonderful for a couple nights with some close buddies for our annual guys weekend….we always look for a property that is secluded (for late, loud nights around a firepit), but some near restaurants and golf. There was plenty of space and accommodations for our group of 6 men. Several great firepit areas on the property - we took full advantage of the one directly behind the house, which still felt secluded, but with quick access to the lower level bar area - for frequent drink refills and a quick cool off in AC. Kitchen was well stocked and very organized. Heidi was a great host…she was very responsive and shared many suggestions. I recommend We-B-Smokin bbq nearby.

Amazing family reunion

We loved our time at Black Barn at Stone Creek. Our extended family of 10 gathered for thanksgiving and had 4 kids 6 and under. Heidi went above and beyond to have kids amenities, toys, and sleeping arrangements at the ready. The home is beautifully furnished and the spaces are cozy. Heidi is extremely responsive and goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. We explored the expansive trails with the kids and spent time in nature. We gathered around the fireplace and roasted s’mores. Great memories were made! We would love to come back and stay again!

The perfect spot

This 40 acre retreat was the perfect location for our surprise 60th wedding anniversary weekend. Our family of 14 1/2 fit comfortably in the house with lots of area and activities outdoors. The host and her assistant were the best. It felt as if we were truly guests in their home. They covered every detail of our family’s weekend needs. We added on the black barn to our reservation. It was a great place for our family pictures and family celebration and private dinner. I’ve rented and stayed in many VRBO properties throughout the years and by far this is the best experience I’ve ever had!

Amazing Stay

What an awesome country home for a relaxing family gathering to reconnect with one another. Eight adults and 11 grandchildren made for an entertaining and active weekend. The 40 acres of trails, outdoor lawn games, fire pit with makings for smores, indoor table games and wonderful sleeping accommodations met all of our expectations and more! Heidi was amazing and communicated with us through our stay. She went out of her way to help set up the sleeping arrangements that included an inflatable queen mattress, port a crib, and two roll a way cots. We had a few questions and Heidi responded in a timely and helpful way. This is a great property for families and larger gatherings.Highly recommended.

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Heidi! I have a deep love for family, community, and wide-open spaces. Hosting has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life—there’s something truly special about creating a place where people can slow down, gather together, and make lasting memories. I love restoring old spaces, pouring heart into the details, and helping others feel at home. Sharing the Black Barn property with guests is a dream come true.

Why they chose this property

We chose this peaceful corner of Rantoul, Kansas because it offers the kind of quiet you can feel in your bones. Surrounded by meadows, wooded trails, and big skies, it’s the perfect backdrop for rest and reconnection. What we love most is the way the land itself seems to slow you down—it invites long walks, deep breaths, and meaningful time with the people you’re with. It’s a hidden gem, and we’re so grateful to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property truly unique is the blend of rustic charm, modern comfort, and wide-open Kansas beauty—all on nearly 40 private acres. The 100-year-old barn, lovingly restored farmhouse, and peaceful trails create a setting that feels both timeless and unforgettable. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to gather, to celebrate, to breathe. Guests often tell us they leave feeling more connected—to nature, to loved ones, and to themselves.
