Very clean, comfortable, and the decor was charming! Fireplace wasn't working properly though. It was hard to get a fire to continue going strong. I think the damper may need to be adjusted. Overall, a beautiful place. Would stay there again!

To be honest the home was fine. The two master bedroom setup was nice. However- there are two issues that would keep us from ever coming back. 1. Black ants were all over the bathroom and spotty in other rooms. 2. The noises coming from the home. I am ex-military and a retired police officer. The noises coming from the home kept me awak all three nights. During the day everything was normal, but as soon as the light go out the house comes alive. it wasn’t just the normal noises of houses settling. There was popping and cracking in the walls. The door handles would rattle and there was knocking at the front door and the back door. There were was what seemed like foot steps on the ceiling and in the other rooms. It was unnerving to both my wife and I enough that we slept with the lights on. I slept in a chair in the living room one night with a flashlight trying to figure out what was causing the noises so i could stop them and report them to the owner. It’s easy to fix ants and its not unusual if you live in the country. They try to come in when its hot and it was 90 degrees when we were there. I just don’t know what you would do with the noises. It was beyond creepy. It was if the house was alive. If you aren’t a light sleeper then you probably won’t have an issue.

I am sorry you didn't rest well but maybe that is due to your military and police training. Your body is on constant alert. The popping & cracking that you here is a very common in all log cabins. As the logs heat up and cool down they expand and contract making that noise you heard. The higher the temperature change between day and night the more expansion and contraction you get. There is no attic or floor above you since the ceiling goes all the way up to the timber frame supports. The wind or tree limbs above the roof would have been the only thing above you capable of making noise. I apologize for the ants that you saw they must have arrived between exterminator visits. Being in the country in the spring we get a fresh new batch of bugs every year. The extermination always gets rid of them. As you can see from all of the 5 star reviews we have your experience is not typical.

Loved the location and especially the back deck. We enjoyed the evening fires in the fireplace. Thank you for providing the firewood. The cabin was cozy, clean, interesting with all the antiques, and a well stocked kitchen. Host is very prompt in responding to any problems. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

The cabin was perfect. It was everything I could have hoped for and more. Very relaxing atmosphere, secluded but no more than 20 mins away from all the attractions of Branson. Plan on visiting again soon.
