The house and location were wonderful. Stunning views and abundant marine life (whales, puffins, gannets). The house is in a quiet rural location with a beach and small boat launch just down the road.
A beautiful spot, close to all attractions but not next to them. The home was well equipped and the view was enchanting, I couldn't get enough of it. The host reply back quickly if I had any questions. Threat yourself and book now.

Thank you for your review Bonny! We’re delighted you enjoyed the view as much as we do!
Fantastic view in a very comfortable cottage on the oceanfront. Wildlife entertained us all day every day. The cottage had everything we needed and was convenient to all attractions in Avalon.

The host was very responsive and helpful with any questions. The house was clean and had all we needed for cookingThe deck with the hot tube was fantastic - dark night, ocean waves breaking in!!
The property, a traditional Newfoundland house, has been completely updated into a beautiful seaside retreat. It is very well equipped with numerous unexpected pleasant surprises and niceties. We especially loved using the deck and hot tub!

Thank you for the great review Sean! We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay!
We stayed in the beach house for 4 nights and it was perfect. The house is very comfortable and quiet. The view of the bay is stunning. We enjoyed the hot tub and the relaxing sound of the gulls. Our last night amazed us with a double rainbow and to our delight, there were whales in the bay on our last morning. I would highly recommend this stay!
Enjoyed our stay. Thank you. It was foggy the whole time so spent a lot more time in the cottage than we planned and enjoyed the downtime. Close to St. John’s which is nice for museums and restaurants.

Thank you for your stay and review, Peter! The locals call the spring fog "capelin weather," as shortly after, the whales come to chase them and play in the area. Hopefully you'll have an opportunity to return and enjoy our summer sun someday. Take care: Nicole
We all enjoyed the amazing location and spectacular views from the back deck overlooking a range of islands. Only about an hour from St. John's (at most), we felt far away and visited many trails, sites such as Ferryland, and family who still live in the area. The outdoor hot tub was an extra treat.
We absolutely loved this place! The views were incredible, the hot tub was so relaxing and the place was spotless. We wanted a quiet calm getaway and this was definitely the perfect choice. So much attention to detail - you can tell the owners really love this place and take pride in it. I love how they honoured their grandmother’s house and shared her story. Absolutely nothing to complain about, great hosts, great location, amazing stay here!!

That is just so kind of you to say Cayley. We do take great pride in our property and love it when guests can enjoy it as much as we do. Thank you for your stay, and we hope to see you back again in the future.
Phenomenal view, attractively and comfortably furnished, beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. Nicole, our host, was very responsive, answering any questions in a matter of minutes. We had everything we needed for a 6-night stay, including the use of the hot tub on the deck, a BIG plus at the end of a long day of hiking. Highly recommended!

Thank you Joan. We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay!
My husband and I stayed at Burnt Cove for 4 nights. The home was tastefully decorated and clean. We found many things to do in the area including the suspension bridge, and playing Where's Waldo the Whale? in Ferryland. The hot tub was wonderful in the evening after running the roads all day. Even when the wind was blowing and it was drizzly! Thanks Nicole for our great stay.

I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay Jane! Thank you for your review and for leaving our property in such great condition. We hope you return again in the near future. Take care!
Beautiful home, beautifully decorated, parking, amazing view of ocean. Sunrises couldn’t be beat. Sadly the hot tub was not hot. Extra towels and bedding would have been appreciated for a group of 4 adult women. Bare minimum of supplies ( condiments, oil, etc ) so cooking was difficult. Not a criticism…just different than other VRBOs we’ve stayed in. Enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your review Wendy. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I'm happy to address your concerns. Our hot tub heats up quickly as it is not yet a year old, and is set to 98 degrees (with the option for guests to hit the up/down arrows to adjust the temp). We would have gladly helped if you were to have messaged us via VRBO. We're easily reached when guests need help or have questions.
For your two night stay, we provided 6 sets of bed linnens, and 8 bath towels plus other accompanying linnens. However, we would have provided more upon request.
We also mention in our info message that we only provide starter items for your stay. In this case, for kitchen provisions, we've provided: 4 bottles of water, 4 coffee pods, a container of coffee whitener, and a container of coffee grinds. We also provided 3 dishwasher tabs, dishwashing liquid, cooking oil, salt and pepper shakers, and a container of packaged condiments. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, but we truly wish you had reached out with your concerns upon reading our message or during your stay. Thank you.
Excellent location close to puffin boat tour and trailhead of East Coast Trail - La Manche area. Do not miss the hike to Doctor’s Cove for breathtaking ocean views! Very clean, comfortable home with all amenities and plenty of parking. Thank you Nicole for a memorable stay in your grandma’s former home. We’re inspired by the love and care you have heaped on this place to preserve her heritage!
