The layout was good. Work definitely needed to be done in front bathroom and deck. Stocking of needed items needed work. No large bowls. Not many pots and pans.
We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and decorated nicely; it was supplied with everything we needed for our stay. It was just my husband and me but there was plenty of room for the rest of our family if they had decided to come. The checkin process was great and communication with the host during our stay was great also. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to other activities throughout Tupelo. We would most definitely stay again.
This home is located in a very quiet neighborhood yet it is close enough to anything you want or need to do in Tupelo. We were able to relax and unwind after visiting with family and doing some shopping.
Cute home in nice neighborhood of older homes. Desi responded promptly when we had an issue with the entry code and later with another small issue. The layout of the house was perfect for us. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

It was a short stay for me as I was in and out for Christmas parties, but it was so relaxing and felt like home. I really enjoyed the stay and the really soft bed, the place is extremely clean and well kept, can’t wait to come back here!
Very cute house across the street from the tennis courts. We really enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is very quiet.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Firstly, I'll say the positive thing. The AC was working well, keeping the temperature down, and making the indoor heavy smell somewhat bearable. The property needs a true, professional, deep cleaning along with a professional remodeling! Otherwise, it should be placed as the #1 for Health and Safety Hazard structures. All beds were heavily stained & soiled. Main bathroom had a large pile of soaked wet/soiled towels that made it unbearable to stay nearby. The "pantry" had cans of paint and other "remodeling" items and debris. All corners of the floors had large amounts of dust. The main AC return vent was on the floor making it a "great" collectible stationary area. From food crumbs to lint, to various debris piled in a thick layer. I doubt it was cleaned in the last few years. The exterior doors were hard to lock, giving us a sense of vulnerability. Cleaning crew was blamed by the host, yet lack of cleaning was only part of the problem. The property shows signs of unprofessional "remodel" only to make things look worse. From major cracks in the walls, large patches of paint peeling of the ceilings, to soft floor areas making loud noises when walking through the house, to buckling vinyl floor in the kitchen area, to bathtub painting over dark corners and chipped tub paint. This property must be completely remodeled before it gets on this platform. I had to bring my own blankets and pillows from the car to place over the beds and we slept uncovered. Also, it has 1 queen bed.
My family and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving at this little adorable home. It was cozy and comfortable. Enjoyed the fireplace. Enjoyed the backyard and cornhole. Was in a great location
The host left super simple and very straight forward instructions that made checking in and out a breeze. Being from the area, one reason why I picked the home was the location. Its close to shopping, parks, restaurants, etc. We didnt have to go far from the home regardless of what we went out for. The home is an older home so it needs some TLC but otherwise the rooms were clean. I do want to bring up a couple things. The bikes that were supplied did not have air in the tires, so we could not use them. I didnt see a bike pump but if there was one and I missed it then strike this issue. Otherwise, I think the host should supply a pump for guests to use if needed. The garbage disposal needs cleaning. We were met with an awful smell after doing some dishes.Lastly, there needs to be a secondary manual lock on the front door. The key pad was very convenient and easy to use. No complaints there. The problem was I couldn't lock the front door from the inside. The deadbolt had been removed upon inspecting the door. I have 2 small children, one on the autism spectrum. He will elope by trying doors. We ended up having to put piece of furniture in front of the door so he couldn't open it at night just in case he woke up and went to try the door. Also, if the key pad failed to lock the door from the outside, it would of been concerning that now there would be no way to lock the door. All in all, our stay was good. I'd recommend the property to friends and family.
We were in town to visit family. The cottage was in a great location for us in a very nice, quiet neighborhood, Nice space to relax during our downtime. It had everything we needed.
Great little cottage in the cutest neighborhood you’ve ever seen!
We rented the house for a baseball tournament. It had a great central location to everything we needed. The elementary school, park and surrounding neighborhood created a quaint atmosphere. The cottage is a renovated older home. It has great charm and modern facilities while maintaining the integrity of the original home. I love older homes and thought this one was precious!
The Callaway Cottage was a lovely place to stay during our recent weekend in Tupelo. Its location was great--only five minutes from the airport, easy access to Gloster St or Coley Rd -- and plenty of great restaurants within a 10-minute drive.
Inside--the house is beautifully decorated. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen had a Keurig (hugely important in my opinion!). And the living room was a great place to relax and have a late evening discussion. (Note that the living room is "sunken" -- 2 steps down from the kitchen.)
We will definitely stay here next time we are in Tupelo!

Disgusting
I would love to give this little house a good rating but I just absolutely cannot. I will start with the one positive. It is evident that a lot of thought and good taste went into the decorating of the house. It is cute. Now, where to start with the rest. No welcome letter from the owner. No house rules or checkout instructions. There was wet laundry in the washing machine when we arrived. In the kitchen, there was a drawer with a fuzzy creature in it. The pot holders had so much dry crusted food on them no one would want to even touch them. Oh yeah, let’s not forget the dead fly in the drawer (see pic). No tv in the second bedroom. The room with the daybed does have a tv, but with a caveat. It doesn’t work. Now what makes this the most disgusting house I’ve ever rented, the beds. Both bedspreads are stained. In the room, with the white bedspread, the sheets had three huge/obvious pee stains! (see pics). Fire your cleaning crew! Either the bed was just remade with the dirty sheets on them, or these absolute horrific sheets were put back on the bed. I’ve never seen anything like it! If the stains are unable to come out, then these sheets should be discarded. You cannot make a bed with sheets in this condition, and then expect your guests to sleep on them. I rented a house with multiple beds and ended up sleeping on the couch. Completely grossed out! Couldn’t get out of this house fast enough.
