Other things to note -Cell service can be very spotty depending on provider. US Cellular is the most reliable carrier in this area. The Wi-Fi is very strong though. -This Cabin is very private in the mountains and therefore surrounded by a variety of wildlife. During certain times of the year, the area will have lady bugs and stink bugs and will also always be home to other wildlife such as bear, turkey, raccoons, possums, coyotes, snakes, etc. For this reason, we cannot allow trash to be stored outside due to local scavenging animals. If you have too much trash to store inside, please let us know and we will arrange a pick up for you. -The Cabin does share a side yard with a small 1 bedroom guest cabin that is sometimes occupied by a family member, but will not be using the yard while any guests are checked in. -We like guests to know that the drive ends with a gravel road and a private high-water bridge and although it is not paved, it is still accessible with 2 wheel drive. -The basement, garage, and walk in attic are used for owners’ storage purposes and are therefore unavailable for guest use.

This location is very rustic and private which is what we were looking for. It was well appointed and very clean. Communication with our host was amazing. You can't beat waking up and drinking coffee and listening to the river.
Very scenic and private property. 45 mins from VT college. Highly recommended for a men’s retreat of up to four. Fireplace in and out with wood supplied by host.
What a beautiful place to get away!! Very peaceful and comfy. Hannah was very accommodating and she made the check in check out process easy. Loved the sound of the water rolling in the creek while sitting by an open fire as the sun went down and listening to the peaceful sounds of nature.
This cabin had all plenty of rustic charm with some nice updates that made our stay very comfortable. I was impressed by how clean it was. The location near the creek was particularly lovely as was the smokeless firepit, which we enjoyed every night. The property manager was delightful to communicate with & has put together the best welcome book I have seen at a VRBO property. If you stay here, definitely don’t miss the Amish Store, Walker Valley Market, just down the road!
The property was beautiful, the cabin was very well kept, and the owners did a great job of making us feel welcome. It's a perfect spot for a cabin get-away.

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
This cabin was beyond expectations. It was well equipped with everything you could think of and very clean. I will hopefully be renting this cabin again next year for my annual sister getaway.
We stayed in this rental for my daughter’s Virginia Tech graduation. I’m 100% going to come back. The property was beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed. The owners were super responsive, kind, and attentive. I only wish we hadn’t been running the roads back and forth to Blacksburg because it was entirely relaxing to sit out and enjoy the creek. We loved our stay and look forward to returning.
Property was exactly as described in listing, and a great location for venturing out to explore the surrounding mountain area. Very quiet, peaceful, with wonderful front porch views of the creek. Everything you could possibly need was provided, including S'MORES ingredients, which was a nice, thoughtful touch. Bed was comfy, and it was lovely to go to sleep with the nighttime sounds of crickets in the background. Communication with property manager, Hannah, was smooth, easy, and timely. I wish we could have stayed longer! We will be back for a longer stay.
This cabin was more gorgeous in person than in the pictures. It's not often you can stay somewhere that everything you need is included. Here you can! The whole property is beautiful and the creek is gorgeous. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely be staying again!!!
We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful cabin over the Thanksgiving holiday. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed listening to the sound of the stream outside. It was a short and easy drive to Blacksburg, where we attended a football game. We spent several days hiking in the area. The host was gracious and extremely responsive throughout our stay.
We had the best time staying here. We wanted to get away for peace and quiet and this was the best place for it. The house is well appointed, Hannah was the absolute best host the house, grounds and creek were breathtaking. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. To sum it all up though it was so good we are thinking about packing our bags and moving to the area. Thanks Hannah for all you do. We appreciate you.
1. The cabin was awesome. It was spotless, had literally everything we needed plus more, had comfortable mattresses (very important for my back), was exactly as described, and was beautiful. Having a huge fireplace and lots of dry firewood was a bonus due to the cold nights.
2. The property/location was perfect for someone looking for a relaxing, serene, rural setting. The creek is right in front of the cabin and can be heard as soon as you step outside. It would be a great creek for children to play in during the warmer months. Plus, there's a nice trampoline and play area for small children.
3. Hannah was the best host I've even had. She responded to any inquiry almost immediately and keep us well informed. Knowing that she and the owners were on site was also comforting in case anything came up.
I hope to return in the summer to take advantage of the creek.

About the host
Hosted by Hannah Aschliman
Hey! I’m Hannah and I am wife to Kurt as well as mom to 4 awesome kiddos. We live in the gorgeous mountains of SW Virginia and dabble in homesteading as a hobby with our small herd of grass-fed cattle, a few bee hives, and 18 chickens. We love sharing the beauty of our family land with others. Since we live nearby, on the other side of the 500 acre property we help manage, we can be present to help with any concerns that may arise.
What makes this property unique
We love the peace of being surrounded by nature. Seeing millions of stars every night and watching the sunrise over the mountains without anyone bothering you is so special.
