OTHERS THINGS TO NOTE

IMPORTANT - Fill up on gas and get groceries before heading up the mountain. Closest gas station is about 30 miles/1 hour away (Bakersfield/Porterville/Springville) and closest groceries are 14 miles away from the local market and food options limited.

TRASH - We do not have any trash service in the mountains so we request all trash to be removed by the guests when leaving. You will be charged for any trash and/or food in fridge left.

Phone service can be limited up in the mountains…which isn’t necessarily a bad thing when you’re looking to get away and decompress. But Starlink internet runs pretty smoothly for Wifi, emails, & streaming.

IMPORTANT: In the winter season, 4-wheel drive and snow chains are required.

Please bring your own firewood/firestarter for the wood-burning stove. This is the cabin’s main source of heat. We also have fire wood for sale as well for $7 a bundle. Just let us know.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We enjoyed our time up in this secluded cabin in the mountains! We had some great hikes to Tokopah falls, Kern River trail, and Unal trail. Unfortunately the forest roads are not open yet so we couldn’t get to the trail of 100 giants or Sunday peak. Overall it was a very enjoyable trip!

Small Slice of Mountain Life

Overall had a wonderful time up in the mountains overlooking the forested lands all around! Plenty of wildlife to watch from squirrels, birds, coyotes and cows! The drive in is very scenic in the spring. There are so many wildflowers everywhere you look! The cabin is gorgeous and makes you feel at home. Truly one of my favorites.

Mountain Getaway

What a fantastic weekend! This cabin was my base camp for exploring, but I should have spent more time on the property. So quiet and relaxing. So many birds in the morning! The property is beautiful, especially the deck. I'm leaving feeling relaxed and refreshed. Thanks for everything!

Beautiful cabin, amazing view

This cabin is perfectly placed on top of the mountain with a clear sight of the surrounding mountain landscape. A beautiful place to get away and enjoy the clean fresh air, wind in the trees and birds singing. Best of all it looks better in person. Highly recommend.

Nice place

Beautiful and clean home. Not enough towels and wash clothes for 5 people. Would we stay again? Probably so!

I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and would consider coming back to our cabin. I will look into your suggestions you have addressed as they were never brought up during your stay nor by any of our prior guests who have all been extremely satisfied with their stay (via VRBO and Airbnb). I provide enough towels and washcloths per guest plus a few additional for a minimum 2-night stay, with more available upon request. For your stay at our cabin, I provided 7 towels and 4 washcloths. The only communication I received from you regarding your towel/washcloth issue was after you checked out. I would have been more than happy to provide you with more towels and anything else you may have needed right away if you had asked me. Communication is very important to me as a host so that I can provide you with anything you need for a great stay. I strive to provide all of my guests with a 5-star experience. And these reviews speak volume for the appreciation and work that I put in for my guests to ensure they have a great stay. I’m sorry you felt your stay at our cabin deserved a 3-star rating because I did not provide enough towels and washcloths to your liking. I so wish you would have communicated these issues with me so I could have easily resolved them and provided you with a 5-star experience.

Amazing Stay

This was our second time up to this beautiful cabin. Alicia is an amazing host. She’s communicative and answers any questions you may have. She gave us the heads up that there would be snow on our way up. the snow was a new experience for us. The road up to the cabin was cleared by the time we made it up and the driveway was also cleared for us jus made it easier for us to be able to get settled in before the snow started. Amazing views from the cabin windows. Everything stocked up and organized to make our stay nice and comfortable. Wood stove really simple to use even though it was our first time using it for the cold weather. We also got to use there sleds for the snow and the children really enjoyed there time in the snow.

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods!

Picture this! You are making your way up the winding mountain road as you pass beautiful and varying scenery. You pull up to this gorgeous cabin in the woods, you walk in and there is this wonderfully and tastefully done lighted Christmas tree with all ornaments of all the animals and birds that you could possibly see on your adventure in the mountains. Every detail is seen to in this cabin. The wood stove and all your needed fire starting accessories are laid out for you just outside the side door. The lighting and coziness of the cabin just makes you feel like you’ve walked into a story. The beds are not to hard and not to soft - they are just right! The place is spotless! What a place to begin your adventure to Sequoia National Forrest! Oh! And did I mention the hammock hanging outside - with your name on it? Now… Take that all into consideration and then add that Alicia (owner) is ready to respond to any question or need! Her attention to detail is unrivaled! She made us feel welcomed and was delighted to hear about our adventure to the giant Sequoia trees! BTW, highly recommend the 7-8 mile loop, starting at the General Sherman tree. We really enjoyed our time at the beautiful cabin in the woods. Our time there was delightful and one that my family will be sharing fond memories of for years to come!
