About this property
The Juniper Cabin | Cozy Hideaway w/ Hot Tub, Screened Porch + Fire Pit
The Space:
The cabin is compact in the best way, with a connected main living area, two bedrooms, one full bathroom, and outdoor spaces that add plenty of room to spread out. The layout works especially well for couples, with added flexibility for a small family or a few friends.
🍽️ Gather
The open living, dining, and kitchen area keeps the heart of the cabin connected. A painted brick fireplace with an electric insert anchors the living room, while a 70-inch smart TV and comfortable seating make it easy to settle in after a day of hiking, winery visits, or exploring the area.
The kitchen is compact but thoughtfully equipped, with stainless steel appliances and quality small appliances including a Vitamix, KitchenAid mixer, Instant Pot, toaster, and air fryer/convection oven. There is no traditional full-size oven, but the setup works well for everything from breakfast to an easy dinner or a wine and charcuterie night.
A kitchen island with seating for two creates a natural spot to keep someone company while cooking or enjoy your morning coffee, while a separate table for two offers a cozy place for meals. A dedicated coffee station includes Nespresso Vertuo and Keurig machines, a French press, cold brew setup, and starter pods.
🛏️ Rest
The primary bedroom has a king bed, while the second bedroom includes a daybed with a twin trundle and a workspace, giving the home flexibility for a small family, an extra guest, or someone who needs a quiet place to get a little work done.
The bathroom includes a walk-in shower along with a washer and dryer combo unit, convenient for longer stays or simply refreshing a few things after a day on the trails.
♨️ Unwind
The 275-square-foot screened porch is one of our favorite parts of The Juniper Cabin. Surrounded by trees, it feels like an extension of the living space and is an especially good place for morning coffee, meals outside, reading, or relaxing in the egg chairs. Seasonal views open toward the valley through the woods, and the setting changes noticeably throughout the year.
Just below the porch, the lower patio is set up for evenings outside with a private hot tub, outdoor propane fire pit, grill, and comfortable seating. It is the kind of space where it is easy to lose track of time, whether you are soaking after a hike or sitting outside with a drink once the sun goes down.
🍷 Explore
The Juniper Cabin sits in Skyland Estates, a quiet mountain community in Virginia’s Blue Ridge region, and makes a comfortable home base for the trails, wineries, scenic drives, and mountain towns of the Shenandoah Valley. A vehicle is required, and the driveway fits up to two vehicles.

🦌 Wildlife & Surroundings • Deer, foxes, wild turkeys, and the occasional black bear are common. Please avoid leaving food, trash, or scented items outdoors, as these can attract wildlife. As with any wooded mountain setting, you may also occasionally encounter insects or small critters.

Furniture or décor may differ slightly from photos, but quality and style remain constant. Our landscaping, pest control, or hot tub team may service the property as needed. The host is great. He is very helpful and responsive. The house is comfortable and you don't feel like you are camping. The house is very comfortable with the amenities of home. While it does not have the mountain view, it is very private and close to things you may need like a restaurant, gas station or convenience store. I have a Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road and I was glad I did. The cabin is definitely on some steep and rough dirt roads. Everyone was very kind pulling off the road to let you pass. I learned where the pull off spots were quickly. I advise you to learn the light switches the first night. You'll want to know how to turn them off. The dimming feature was very nice. The neighbors are quiet. This is definitely a nice place to relax. I can see why it was highly rated. I loved the fact that the cabin is pet friendly and my dog enjoyed the property as well. There are plenty of blankets and towels for you. Finally, and this isn't part of the cabin rental, but if you want to test your 4WD on some mountain roads, there are plenty to choose from in Skyland Estates.
We had a great experience staying here! The home is adorable, clean and cozy. We had everything we needed and the hot tub was so nice after a day of hiking! Matt was attentive over message for questions and the check out instructions were nice and simple. We would definitely stay here or at any of their other properties again.
We enjoyed a luxury type feel in a secluded location. Well stocked with everything you need for a getaway. Close to many hiking trails in Shenandoah National Park and near all the necessary amenities. We would book another stay here. Thank you!
Cozy, very well stocked cabin in the woods. Great central location for many wineries, hikes, and restaurants. The roads in the neighborhood are pretty steep, but this place is definitely worth it. Very comfortable, cutely decorated, and with every amenity imaginable. We’d come again.
We really enjoyed this home. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of towels left for us. We especially loved the screened in porch which also had plenty of seating for family time. The home is not only beautiful inside but also on the outside with nice landscape and attention to detail. The owner was very accommodating and had great communication. We will definitely stay here again while visiting family,
This place checks all the boxes! It’s a cozy place with a great view and hot tub. The only niggle is the door to the patio has a crack in it so air seeps through. Otherwise, fantastic place!
Property well kept. comfortable and clean. Easy check in process. Hot tub and Gas Fire Pit worked properly and were maintained. Back yard private and peaceful. Host Friendly & Communicative. Definitely a 10/10. I would recommend this property to others and would definitely stay again!
We had a fantastic stay. The property is beautiful, clean, and perfect for a couple looking for a quiet getaway.
It’s about 15-20 minutes from downtown Front Royal, a half hour from Shenandoah, and has plenty of wineries surrounding it.
Matt was responsive to any questions and super helpful.
As stated in the description the property is off some roads that are dirt/gravel and get narrow. Would highly recommend something with 4WD or AWD to get there. We would highly recommend this property.
We have stayed at several places using VRBO and this was probably the best overall. Location - Very peaceful. Plus not too far of a drive to all kinds of activities. The cabin was beautifully decorated and the amenities...well you really dont need anything because it has been provided. Only minor inconvenience was no closet or dresser, so had to live out of our suitcase. Also our adult son came with us. His bed was almost too small. But these were very minor and did not have any effect on our stay. Would give our experience an A
