Beautiful chateau in Playa Hermosa

A gorgeous home in a gated community, beautiful view, lovely pool, trees full of monkeys. We loved our stay. Management was friendly and extremely helpful. The road up to the house is a challenge, but our van was a champion.

10/10 Stay at Chateau Mar Vista

We had a fantastic stay at Chateau Mar Vista! This beautiful house was perfect for my large family, including our in-laws and kids. Between the main house and the guesthouse, there was more than enough space for everyone to feel comfortable. The bedrooms were huge with high ceilings and stunning ocean views. The pool deck was absolutely amazing, providing a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the incredible views, especially at sunset—truly breathtaking! The kitchen was fully equipped and made meal preparations easy for a large crowd, and we really enjoyed the outdoor BBQ grill and bar right by the pool. The property is tucked away in a private, gated community. The location was ideal, with a short drive to gorgeous, relaxing beaches and beachside restaurants, making it easy to explore the local area. The local property manager and complimentary concierge services were also excellent. They provided a bunch of great recommendations - we especially enjoyed a beach hopping and snorkel boat tour of the Papagayo peninsula.

The house is very spacious and was built as a luxury villa in a gated community on a hill overlooking Playa Hermosa. It is advertised as a 6 bedroom villa but there are 4 bedrooms in the main house and 2 bedrooms in a guest house (casita). Unfortunately, the casita had cooling and water issues (no hot water). The house manager tried her best to rectify the issues in the casita by bringing in portable air conditioners but they ended up flooding the floor. Two members of our party ended up sleeping on the couches the entire time. The plumbing is definitely needing upgrade to bring the house back to its original splendor.

The Chateau was a great place for our family holiday. The pool was great fun for all.The grandchildren were very happy to have their own house. The main house was big enough you could escape to one of several balconies for a little quiet time. Oh and don’t forget the pool table. Last but not least, the view of Playa Hermosa from the balcony is exactly like the picture, so come and enjoy!
