The Riverfront Cottage is a perfect year-round getaway located along the relaxing banks of the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. Minutes away from downtown historic Bedford, great restaurants, unique shops, stores, and Shawnee State Park. Sleeps 6 persons comfortably. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, central air/heat, fully equipped kitchen (no condiments), cable and smart TVs, high-speed Internet, washer/dryer, large river view deck, covered porch, gas grill, and private dock with ladder (ladder/railing removed in the winter). Enjoy seasonal activities- kayaking, fishing in the trout-stocked river, relaxing by the river, rafting (rafts not provided), and swimming. Four kayaks and life vests provided. Sit by the outdoor fireplace in the back and relax under the pavilion. Enjoy the other fireplace and covered swing overlooking the river, and eat and gather around the picnic table. Firewood provided. Inside cabin and outside areas not child proof. Major credit cards accepted.

This house is nicely situated on the Juniata River. It has wonderful fishing opportunities, with a landing right on the river. It is a nice house that is very comfortable. There is a wonderful restaurant - Jean Bonnet Tavern- nearby Excellent food and service. We had a wonderful stay here.

65th Girlfriend Birthday Reunion

Really enjoyed this house. Great front deck and nice hot tub around the back. Lots to do in the area. Perfect kitchen table to sit around and play games. Only wish we could've stayed longer than three nights to spend more time on the deck.

Nice location we were a little disappointed that we can only kayak about a half mile each direction from the cabin. Also the cabin could use a good deep down cleaning. The owner was very nice and always available.

We appreciate your feedback and private clarification. Many guests and locals kayak throughout the county. Unless you are familiar with the river, know how to read it, and are an experienced kayaker, for obvious reasons, we recommend staying close to the property. You can stay close, or venture out, ultimately it's your choice. I was glad to hear your cleaning concern pertained to a few cobwebs which easily develop, both inside and outside, and some dust along part of the carpet baseboard. We take great pride in its overall cleanliness and always strive to improve. Thank you for staying at the Riverfront Cottage.

The perfect weekend stay

We stopped here for a few nights during a 10 day road trip and it was great! The cabin had plenty of comfortable beds and was stocked with essentials plus more. Cindy is a wonderful host and even provided a check in welcome bundle. The river was so relaxing to sit next to in the mornings and the area is quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub and sightseeing the local cavern, old Bedford village plus a few local restaurants. Wi-Fi was fast the AC was cold.
