Perfect spot in Newport!
This lovely spot is located within walking distance of Newport’s best shops and restaurants as well as the most famous must-see “cottages.” It is also beautifully appointed with everything you need for a cozy weekend or comfortable week’s stay. The shower and bed are smaller than we are used to but these small inconveniences were made up for by the gorgeous garden Kathleen has grown, where I spent many sunny days reading and we grilled dinner one night. (She even grows herbs you’re welcome to use in your cooking!) I was concerned about this being a communal space as I value my privacy when on vacation but most of the time we had it all to ourselves and the few times we bumped into the owners, they were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. My only quibble is the soundproofing in the apartment isn’t great so we heard the owners in the early morning moving around, even though we could tell they were making pains to be as quiet as possible. Nonetheless,we would heartily recommend this stay for anyone. We have vacationed in many rentals in our time and this one stood out as exceptionally clean, with thoughtful details everywhere, including cookies, energy bars and even local beers in the fridge.
