Watch whales during whale watching season right from the deck! Cook in the fully equipped kitchen or barbecue on the deck while enjoying the awesome energy of the ocean or witnessing the splendor of the Pacific at sunset.

Absolutely ideal for families, this two story, 4 bedroom, 2 full bath home has a large living room and dining room for great family gatherings. You enter the home on the first level and walk into a cozy family room with cable TV and a VCR and a queen size hide-a-bed. The first level also has a laundry room, a full bath, one bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, and another bedroom with a queen bed. Climb a few stairs to the main living area ... a light, airy, open design offering ocean views from three sides of the living/dining area.

The living room has a 42' HD flat screen TV, a comfortable sectional and oversized chairs. The dining area features a large table and chairs which can accommodate up to 10 people. Upstairs has two queen bedrooms and another full bathroom.

The garage game room features a ping pong table. A fenced in front courtyard is perfect for kids and pets to safely play.

If a family environment is what you are looking for, look no further. If activity is what you have in mind, you'll find it here where you are steps from the sand! It is also a short walk to Lake Lytle, where you can put your kayaks in for a tranquil outing among the deer, redwing blackbirds, ducks and other wildlife. Bring your bicycles and ride to the center of town, where you'll find restaurants and shops to explore. Within a couple of miles, you'll find boat rentals, crabbing, fishing, hiking and golf.

nice family place to stay

We had 15 people there for a family wedding in the area. The house was very clean and nice. Plenty of room for everyone and close to the beach. The only thing we'd suggest is a new hide-a-bed downstairs (very uncomfortable); but other than that we really liked it and would recommend it to others. I did a lot of research and it was hands down the most reasonable in cost for a beach house (big enough for 15 ppl) between Tillamook and Rockaway. Owners were also very friendly to deal with. : )

We are so happy when families come to enjoy the Buena Vista! And we love the feedback that allows us to make improvements for the next guests. We have replaced the hide-a-bed and added a pillow top mattress pad for added comfort. Come back and visit soon!

Gorgeous home, great location!

This home accommodated our large group (6 adults, 5 kids aged 5-15) wonderfully. There is enough room for everyone to eat or play games together, but also to spend time apart if desired. We loved being able to enjoy the ocean view despite the fact that the house is not beachfront. The windows on the upper floor really capitalize on the spectacular view. Overall the place is very clean and the updates lovely. We'd love to come back!

Granddaughter's First Birthday Celebration

The property was perfect for our family's celebration on the coast! We pre-ordered groceries as suggested by the owner. We would highly suggest adding blinds on the west side windows to help reduce the heat from the sun in the afternoon. A cutting board in the kitchen would also assist the guests with meal prep. Overall a great property! We hope to get back to your home in the near future.

Great location

The property was newer had an amazing view of the ocean. There was plenty of room for all of us. The ping pong table was a highlight. Someone was playing all the time. The upstairs beds were comfortable. The cleanliness of the place was definitely lacking. The furniture has never been moved and cleaned and under the sofa a chair cushions were full of dirt and objects. The freezer wasn’t cleaned out and the BBQ was took 2 hrs to clean. Don’t park your car close to the garbage cans.they left a huge scratch on the side of my brand new car. Over all we enjoyed ourselves and would probably stay again.

The beach view was just like the photos in the listing. Beach access was very close. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed for thanksgiving. We had an issue with the porch light not working and the owner had someone out to fix it right away.

What a beautiful and well-cared for beach house! I booked the house for a long weekend trip with 4 adults. The communication from Cathy was excellent and the check-in process was super simple. We loved the house - it was clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. Great place for our family vacation

Grandparents, parents, and children (age 1 to 8 years old has a great time. There was plenty of room, easy access to the beach and local attractions, the train, tide pools, board walk trail to old growth cedar tree. Great Home On the Beach

Family stayed at Rockaway for the weekend. Although the weather was a bit rainy and not so good the home was fantastic. Loved that the kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in. Would definitely come back.

Fantastic Vacation!

Our stay at Buena Vista was wonderful!! The property was super-clean, modern, and updated. The kitchen was well-appointed and the oceanview from the main living room was gorgeous! Beach access was just a few houses down the street. The owner, Cathy was a delight to work with when we had a slight schedule request change, in which we greatly appreciated her excellent customer service! Hands down, this was one of the best rentals we've ever stayed at! Our family had a fantastic time!

Nice getaway

We choose this property for a few reasons. We had to get out of our house for a two week remodel, during COVID and with a dog, this seemed like a nice place to stay. It was big enough my husband who had to work and my daughter who had to be online with school had their own spaces so we weren't all at the kitchen table. I was able to enjoy walks on the beach and when the weather turned I enjoyed watching the rain and the ocean from inside. The house is very comfortable even off season when you can't get out everyday. The kitchen was well equipped so that we could prepare meals. I found a great grocery store in Manzanita (Fresh Foods), not terribly close, but well stocked and definitely following COVID protocol. Originally I went to Tillamook (Safeway) to stock up, but was very disappointed in the staff also many customers not wearing masks properly or pulling them down to talk. Didn't return. Overall a wonderful stay on the coast.

Well appointed, great location

Home was clean and comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. Short walk to the beach. Nice small fenced area for our two ancient chihuahuas. Our vacation was marred by a power outage of about 30 hours and smoke from the Oregon fires, but we are looking forward to coming back, hopefully to this very same house, next year. This home met all Of our needs and then some.

Great location for a Family

We had a wonderful stay at this home. Any issues we encountered were addressed by the home owner. It would have been handy to have the check-out instructions, and area information available on site. (This is a minor detail.) The view was spectacular. Bunk beds were a little unsteady, and made the older kids feel slightly uncomfortable climbing up and down. We would definitely stay in this home again, if we ever went back to to Rockaway Beach. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Amazing time together

Beautiful, comfortable, easy access to beach, beautiful view from the balcony. Good place to stay and explore the Oregon coast up and down. Lovely kitchen, plenty of linens and beautiful large washer and dryer. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and it never felt crowded.

Spacious house with great view and beach access

Overall, our group of 7 adults and 4 kids was well-accommodated in this house. The furnishings are comfortable and the appliances updated and clean. The split level was nice to help break up the sound of 11 people in one house. We especially appreciated the large dining table and lots of comfy seating in the living room. We rated four stars over five because the shower water pressure was very low, and because of a couple other minor issues, which the property owner responded to and resolved promptly. We would stay here again!

Great location and view. Well thought out organization of entry/shoe storage area. Lots of linens. Nicely updated. A few minor cleanliness issues, that could be easily resolved.
