Updated 3 bed/3 bath contemporary condo, with incredible views from every window. Unit-wide terrace overlooking the beach and pool. The main selling point of this condo is there are no steps to the beach.

Relax a stones throw to the beach from your 1400 square foot three bedroom, three bath, non-smoking condo overlooking beautiful Cowpet Bay. The condo has everything you need for a relaxing, fun getaway. The living area has an extra large sectional sofa, a 40-inch TV, and a DVD player/stereo with iPod player and complimentary wireless internet service. It has an extra large covered terrace with outdoor dining/lounging space that comfortable seats six. Inside, you have three oversized king bedrooms with hotel linens, each with their own private full bath and towels. All have AC, individual ceiling fans, large TVs with DVD players and closets with hanging space. Two suites have open beach views and access to the outdoor terrace. The kitchen features all expected appliances (refrigerator, oven/cooktop, dishwasher, microwave), plus utensils, and additional dining space for six.

It only takes 10 seconds to walk to the beautiful palm tree lined beach where there are complimentary beach and lounge chairs. Here you can bask in the sun or lay in the shade of a palm or seagrape tree. The beach has a large protected swimming area and an area where you can snorkel. Next to the beach is a large beautifully landscaped pool with hot tub. There is also a great bar and restaurant, Caribbean Fish Market, serving dinner and drinks and Sangrias for more casual fare.

In the buzzing nearby town of Red Hook, you can take a ferry to St. John and the British Virgin Islands (passport required). The town has a great mix of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a fully stocked grocery/liquor/wine store, gift and specialty boutiques, plus a large marina for all your fishing/charter needs. All of this within a mile of the condo.

Perfect St Thomas Family Getaway

Perfect location for a family getaway. Nice and safe area to Red Hook and St John Ferry. The property is just as pictured, very big rooms and shared space.

Perfect home base for our vacation

Our family of four stayed at this condo for a week at the end of June, beginning of July. It was the perfect spot for us. The unit was nice and clean. Ideal location close to Red Hook and a short walk to the pool/hot tub. Communication with John was always quick and easy. We rented his vehicle for the week, which worked out really well. Would absolutely recommend this rental and would definitely consider staying here again.

First place was very dirty and kitchen sink was stopped up. Was promised several times it would be fixed and no one showed up. There were roaches in condo. Floors were very dirty. Complained and owner moved us to another condo. It was much nicer but dryer was broke. We had to go to other condo to dry clothes. Much cleaner but also had roaches . Had to try and sleep with lights on . Would not go to Isalnd again.

The condo is beautiful, with an amazing view. Very close to beach and pool. Restaurants steps away and very tasty. Very responsive manager. We rented car from owner as well-very easy and made the stay wonderful!

February Escape

We had a wonderful stay in John’s condo in Cowpet Bay. The location was perfect for our family with plenty of space for privacy. We could easily walk to the pool and the beach as well as a couple of restaurants. John was very accommodating and responsive to our questions. The condo was clean and plenty of towels were provided. We took the ferry to St. John several times which was easy. We loved our vacation! I highly recommend staying here!!

It really is closest

We were 6 adults and 2 kids, and were very comfortable. The pool is only about 50 feet away, and the beach just beyond the pool! There’s a fine dining restaurant adjacent to the pool (Caribbean Fish Market), and a beach side cafe that serves breakfast and lunch, as well as pizza from 6-8 PM. It was a lovely, laid back visit!

Excellent stay!

Great space for our family of five adults. It was clean, plenty of room. Generator back up-several power outages but none lasted over two minutes-did not affect our stay. Pool is close and great and has lots of shade. Entertainment on the weekend by the pool was fun! Two restaurants close by. Beach is rocky, but no beach is that far away so wasn’t an issue for us-we just traveled to sapphire and Magens. Snorkeling was decent off the beach. Great communication from owner. We’d stay here again with a large group!

Steps for everything you need

Our stay at Cowpet West was just what we needed! The unit is a few short steps from the pool, hottub, beach, and both restaurants. The condo is also stocked with the amenties you need for a relaxing beach getaway, with the conveniences of home like widgets for streaming services, laundry, and cooking and dinnerware.

Vacation in paradise!

This condo was amazing! First, the location is so convenient. Located right by the pool and the on-site restaurant. The beach wasn’t too far beyond that! We spent several days at the condo just enjoying all the amenities available. The pictures of the condo depict exactly what the condo looks like. The inside is decorated nicely, and the layout provides privacy as well as nice common areas for the family to hang out together. The balcony was large enough for our big group to spend evenings hanging out. We would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect location for a quiet vacation

This unit is the first unit in the building and on the ground floor. That makes it perfect for walking out to the pool or beach with a walk of literally 2 minutes. In addition: 1) All the appliances worked, 2) plenty of towels were provided, 3) onsite manager was very responsive to our needs, 4) A/C worked well. What more could you ask for a beach vacation?

Family birthday celebration

We had a wonderful stay in John’s condo in Cowpet Bay. The location was perfect for our family including a toddler under age 2. We could easily walk to the beautiful beach and the pool as well as a couple of restaurants. John was very accommodating and responsive to our questions. We rented his SUV for our large group which worked out great. John made the process very easy for us. The condo was clean and exactly as pictured. We took the ferry to St. John which was an easy and fun day trip. We loved our vacation! I highly recommend staying here!!

Stay in Red Hook

The property is well-located. Upon arrival we noted; several lights required bulb replacement (we accomplished), cleaning (several items, mostly lamps, were encrusted with dust, the refrigerator's water filter needed to be replaced,the bathroom exhaust fans didn't work among other things and there was no parking pass. We called the owner's contact, who informed me she was on her way to dinner but would send the cleaning crew and drop off the parking pass. The condo is older(40 years) as are many of the furnishings and almost all of the appliances are pretty basic.The furniture is mostly uncomfortable, but serviceable (the beds are low to the ground on slats with no box springs). Flush handles on the commodes were loose in two of the bathrooms which we fixed via hand tightening and a bathroom sink was slow to drain which was fixed by using a provided plunger. Also, while close to the pool and beach and easy to access, getting from parking to the unit requires several steps, up and down, which are difficult for anyone who has mobility limitations. Finally, there were no clear instructions on how to operate anything or owner's manual provided which describes the complex or area, which is the case in other stays we have experienced. So, we spent time figuring stuff out. In summary, the grounds, pool and beach are lovely and well-maintained, but this unit was not worth the price based on other Caribbean VRBO stays we have experienced.

Disappointing Stay

First of all the pictures online are nicer than in person. The property manager did not send us all the entry information until we were in the taxi on the way to the unit. It said Check in was a 4:00pm and when we arrived at 5:00pm the cleaning crew were still working on our unit. We found the unit to be very old and rundown with very cheap and uncomfortable furniture. There are definitely plenty of stairs to maneuver around on the whole property so beware. Also throughout our whole trip we could not get the wifi to work and when we tried to contact the property manager no one ever answered. That meant we couldn't stream any TV and My husband had to use our friends wifi in the next complex over for work related stuff. Also there was only one restaurant on the property with very expensive, average food. Otherwise you have to take taxis everywhere that were VERY expensive. All-in-all it was not a pleasant stay and I can't recommend it , nor will I ever visit this Island again.

Once is enough….

Overall my experience at the property was not exactly what I expected nor what was described. However due to it being the July 4th holiday week my other options were scarce. This property is nearly 50 years old and needs updating on the inside and out. Outside: Lots of stairs to walk down to the condo. Stairs are dangerous and require repairs. Property need painting. Security guard at the gate wasn’t present the whole time. Just drive through the gate most times. Access to the beach was easy and the pool was ok. The restaurants on property were great. Inside: Overall the layout is nice and accommodates 6-8 easily. Outdated kitchen essentials were provided, pots, pans, cutlery and dishes. The master bathroom toilet is cracked and the shower had some sort of calcium buildup in the corner. Also, the water pressure was low but functions. The bathroom blinds where on the floor due to the clip being broken. Covered window with a towel to minimize exposure. Had to request getting more toilet paper after day 2, after convincing the property mgr that we didn’t have enough to last 6 days. Great location on the far east end of the island; 25 mins from airport w/no traffic. Not far from the ferry, restaurants and convenience stores; 6 min ride. Next time I will try a different property as I had issues with all the stairs that the description said they didn’t have….not fun with luggage.

This condo was perfect for our family. The 3 full bathrooms were great. Excellent location to beach and pool. Caribbean fish market is delicious! Would definitely stay here again!
