We spent 2 nights here to 'get away from it all' at New Year. Total peace, surrounded by nature. Well equipped, especially for its size! It was nice and warm when we arrived and the oil radiator was quite efficient. We loved it here.

Quaint little cottage. Ok for short stay and visit to Beamish Living Museum nearby. No television and no wifi

Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you found the carriage a good base for visiting Beamish Living Museum. Just to clarify, the accommodation is one of our two converted Railway Carriages, which is described in the listing as a tiny house and simple retreat without television or Wi-Fi. Many guests enjoy the chance to switch off and enjoy the peaceful setting, but we understand it may not suit everyone. Our Gardener's Cottage and Farmhouse which are also available to rent do have wifi and televisions. We do hope you enjoyed your stay overall.
This was a surprise weekend away for my partner and we absolutely loved it.The location is incredible and the carriage is gorgeous. We love birds and the tree outside provided us with loads within 5 minutes of arriving. The river at the bottom of the hill is breathtaking and we got up early each morning to see the dawn.We did the Red Kite Trail on the Saturday which starts right outside the farm and we visited Gibside on Sunday before heading home. The wildlife has been bountiful... it is such a beautiful part of the world. It has been the most wonderful weekend and I am sure we will visit again.
