Kegel`s Inn - Studio - Classic Apartment #4

Quaint little studio with lots of old-world character. This one-room studio has original hardwood floors, heavy wood ceiling beams and 1930`s tile work in the bathroom. The apartment looks down on 59th street, which for the summer months between May and November, hosts the Kegels Beer Garden on the street! We`re one of the last Authentic German restaurants and Inn`s left in country and the studio apartment is right above it! We hope you love this place as much as we do!

Don`t forget downstairs is one of the Best German Restaurants in the region with some of the best Duck we`ve ever had, ANYWHERE! Plus, you`ll find plenty of friendly faces as Kegel`s Inn has been the locals` go-to destination for authentic German cuisine and continues to top the charts as one of the best places to catch a Friday Fish Fry in Milwaukee.

Surprised by how much nicer the space was in person! Very comfortable bed. Well stocked with supplies for light cooking and even supplied the freezer with frosty beer mugs! I'd highly recommend!

Great place. Within walking distance to many great places to eat. Buses available on corner to downtown Milwaukee. Apartment had everything we needed for a great stay. One issue, though definitely not a deal breaker, is that this apartment faces the beer garden for the restaurant bellow. Noise wasn't an issue, but the lights to the beer garden are left on all the time. This made the apartment somewhat bright at night and there are no blackout curtains, just vinyl blinds that dont block light. Not a deal-breaker, but something to consider if you prefer it very dark when sleeping, like I do. All in all a great little place. Will most likely book this apartment again next time we're in Milwaukee.

We are Julian & Stephanie Kegel. We are the fourth generation operators of Kegel's Inn. My Great Grandpa, John Kegel opened this prohibition speakeasy in 1924 and ever since, has been the local's go-to for Authentic German fare in the city. We sure love our restaurant, our little city on the lake and the people in the neighborhood surrounding us, but we haven't always been restaurant folk here in Milwaukee. Stephanie & I met in 2010 while we were both guiding in the small coastal town of Seward, Alaska. Both of us, being from the Midwest, had fallen in love with the West Coast, the mountains and the fresh air that came with working in the outdoors. With several years of guiding behind us, we both longed for family support and the proprietorship that came with growing roots in the Midwest. We welcome you and the idea that Milwaukee is a great city, one we lovingly now call home. So please, kick back and enjoy your stay at one of the best-kept secrets in Milwaukee!
