Old Florida charm and an amazing location, Latimer House is just two blocks from the island’s shimmering white sandy beach and is centrally located in the popular East Gulf Beaches neighborhood.

Wonderful views and the convenience of a one-level floor plan make this a perfect vacation retreat at a great value. Ample decks provide plenty of space to sunbathe, read, nap, chat, or just take in the panoramic views and Gulf breezes. A short walk leads to miles and miles of the island’s award-winning sugar sand beaches and turquoise waters.

The exterior of this home offers under-house concrete parking and a double staircase to the relaxing front deck. An outdoor shower with a bench is provided after a long day at the beach. A fish-cleaning station and park-style grill make preparing your fresh catch a breeze.

Enter the home to an open floor plan living space that brings everyone together. The living room features a sofa and large TV. Exit the living room to the furnished south deck to enjoy exquisite island views. Gather in the dining room for group meals, or dine alfresco on the north deck.

The well-appointed kitchen has everything needed for preparing coastal feasts and offers stainless steel appliances and granite counters. A breakfast bar which seats two is the perfect location for meal preparation or enjoying your morning coffee. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms provide plenty of personal space for the whole group.

House was very clean! Kitchen was well stocked. Beds, except the twins, were comfortable. Towels and linens were very nice. This is the fourth year in a row we have stayed at Latimer House. We love it there. Might consider replacing bedroom carpet with hard flooring.

We enjoyed the property and it was within walking distance of many things on the island. We had all the items that we needed and the property was clean upon arrival. We had a couple of questions within the week of arrival and we received answers promptly. We will be looking up this property for future visits.

Fantastic location

This is our second time staying at this property. You can walk anywhere you need to go. Beach, ice cream, coffee, souvenirs, restaurants all just a short walk. The house is clean and spacious. Plenty of parking. Check-in and checkout are easy. Of note, one bath towel, one hand towel, and one washcloth is provided per person so you may want to bring extras. Also, there are no hairdryers.

Quick fishing trip

House was used for guys to go offshore fishing. They complained of the lack of cleanliness, the outdated property, and need for an exterminator. There was no details to access the property in check in email and no information on how to clean, etc on the day of departure. We waited hours and hours to find out how to get in the home after 5:00.

Great Location and House

We booked to celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday so we had a total of 7 adult guests. The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate us all. Beautifully furnished with clean updated furnishings. Two large decks with peeks of both ocean and bay. Even though you weren’t actually on the water, you still had a sense of it. Loved all the windows and glass doors! Very open and bright. Lots of room for parking. We had 3 trucks and 2 golf carts! Great location and just around the corner from beach accesses. Close to all the restaurants and shopping. We hope to come back to Latimer House!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location! Close to beach and great proximity to the “town” of SGI. The kitchen was well stocked with all necessary dishes and cooking utensils so that was nice. 2 bikes were also provided with the rental which was fun! BUT the house was dirty! We were welcomed by 2 huge cockroaches in the floor. The carpet is stained. There was dust bunnies on the walls, dust on all the fans, vents and baseboards. The house was outdated and needs a fresh coat of paint. The plastic furniture on the front porch was broken. The water pressure in the kitchen was poor. Overall, not worth it for what we paid. This is our 2nd stay using suncoast rentals and we have been less than impressed. Too many options to consider this rental again.

Plenty of parking below the Main Floor. Below also has an outdoor shower and fish cleaning area. It also has a constant breeze which made it a nice area to sit around and hang out. There is a huge 80 in plus TV in the Living room!

The house was clean, beds and couches were comfortable. The kitchen could use some replenishing. The dinner plates don't fit in the microwave and most of that set has chips, no matching wine glasses, no non-stick pans. Doors, windows and blinds are showing their age. It would have been nice to be able to use the lift to move belongings up to the house but it was locked up like Fort Knox. But overall, we were very happy and made due with minor inconveniences.

Reviewer Comments: Location was close to beach, however on a busy noisy road.Never used deck in back, as it never gets sun.House had been empty for sometime and it appears nobody checked it prior to our arrival. Many dead cockroaches. We saw one large live one.Because of this cockroach issue I felt the need to clean the entire home from top to bottom. Lots of dust. Carpets in bedrooms were really bad.Had to clean vacuum and filters before we could use it. It was disgusting. Big roomy house with a good layout.
