One of the cottages at Mauna Olu is located in a gated community with 24 hours security.

This home away from home has a lot to offer with beautiful beaches, local snorkeling, and eateries all within a 10-minute drive.



QUIET TIME:

This is in a gated residential community, please be mindful of our neighbors, no parties, no events, or large gatherings, HOA requires quiet hours 9:00 pm - 8:00 am.



PARKING:

Driveway parking. No parking allowed on the street and road.



Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the entire home except for a few closets, and cabinets that we have locked.

Perfect Location away from tourists!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, exactly as advertised. Clean. The backyard was my favorite place for coffee and lunch. It was the perfect location for us, away from the crowds of Honolulu. We loved the quieter beaches, even having them all to ourselves at times. We would definitely stay here again!

It was a wonderful staying and I'm sad that it's over. The house itself is very beautiful and big. The backyard is full with flowers and palm trees. You can hear birds signing from the very morning till the evening. I will definitely come back to this magnificent place!

Beautifull home

Beautiful home in a peaceful neighborhood. Very comfortable! Bring your bug repellent as the mosquitoes and flies are present outside. Some of the nearby beaches do not seem tourist friendly but other nearby beaches were tourist friendly. Bring inside shoes as they request guests take shoes off before entering.

Great Property with Excellent View!!!

Very nice property. Further out from the city, but you book it that's probably what you're hoping for. It could use a second TV in one of the bedrooms and the living furniture could have been better. Other than that, the place was great! The view from the patio is stellar!

Previous stays at other VRBO we have had better communication. I had to message the host and then get a link to fill out for check-in. Depending on the time of day/shift the security guard at the front gate was not friendly. The home was beautiful and overall clean for the most part. However when part of the fee is for cleaning you don’t expect to find trash/food containers were left under the couch and in the living room, belongings from the previous guests left in some of the drawers. There was beach equipment left in the garage but the chairs and some toys were broken. ***The camera in the master bedroom was very concerning! It was at a suspicious angle and we nearly cancelled our booking but with last minute and not many options (past the date for a refund) we chose to cover it instead. That camera needs to be removed it at the very least explicitly listed in the description when booking. That is a major invasion of privacy and likely a lawsuit waiting to happen. The valley is beautiful, the home was spacious and mostly clean. Check-in instructions said to dump water from AC units but gave no location or further explanation on how or where to do this. The neighborhood is gated which made us feel safe but is also near a large homeless camp, so taking family to the beach nearest the rental was not an option. There were numerous signs posted saying it was a high theft area.
