Things that did not work or worked poorly:Ice MachineOvenHot Water Outside water hose was very short and couldn't wash down our boats. The isolation valve to the hose could not be turned off.Smoke / CO2 alarm went off several times throughout the night. I carry a portable CO2 alarm is the only way we felt safe.House was nice minus the above.Russ

Russ, I am sorry you had that experience. If you just would have reached out, I could have explained to you that the alarm you were hearing was not a CO2 alarm, but rather an alarm pertaining to the water level of the boat. It can be disarmed, and I would have told you how to do that. But if I do not know it's happening, I can't help you fix it. I have my phone number on this site as well as on a paper posted on the fridge in the kitchen.
Oven- the pilot light may have gone out, which happens often in these houseboats. It's very easy to re-light, and I could have told you how to do that if you had told me.
Hose-there is a hose on the deck that is there to wash your boat.
Ice machine- it's a commerical ice machine, but it's not going to generate enough ice if it gets emptied every day. I'm not sure of any ice maker that can do that. I apologize that it couldn't keep up.
Hot water- the water is heated using propane tanks. If the water didn't get hot, it was likely because a switch had to be flipped to switch the propane tanks. I wish you would have reached out, and I would have told you that. The houseboat, like all of them, does not have central a/c/heating, so propane is the only way to go.
I appreciate your feedback, and sincerely wish you would have reached out, as all the things you pointed out (minus the ice machine, which isn't equipped to load up 2 boats every day), were simple easy solutions. I could have even had my business partner, a captain down there, come take care of them for you. But if I don't hear from you, I have no idea they are going on.
I do hope that you will come back and see us, and give the boat another chance. If you would like to discuss, please call me at 504-236-9384.
We enjoyed the great views and spacious feeling of this houseboat. The ac worked great and beds were comfy. The dishwasher was broken, one toilet would not flush and there was a big puddle of water going into the front door. They had two boards down we could walk and balance on to go in the front though. The host, Johnny, was really nice and got back to us right away to get the toilet fixed as soon as he could, the next day. We would recommend the owner getting new pillows and a nice cart for luggage and supplies. We are return customers and the same old, small, broken cart was still there from our November stay. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed our stay.
Thanks for coming, Murray. We loved having y’all! Thanks for the the review. Is there anything we can address that would help us get to a 5 star review? I know we had the ac issue, which was a brand new thing, but we tried to address it as quickly as we could.
We stayed for 3 nights. Great accomodations making it extremely easy to load up and head out for fishing with our guide. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of space for hanging out with each other having an open kitchen/ living room floor plan. Loaded with everything that you could possibly look for and want in a place to stay...even an ice machine. The owner was an awesome guy to deal with and very reachable. The marina restaurant is a close walk. If you're reading this review and you still haven't decided on a guide yet, I recommend that you call "Blue Line Charters", Rich and Drew. Top Notch guides! Great fun "catching" with them. One further recommendation...for when you come back with the boatload of fish that Rich and Drew will put you on. If you're having the catch cleaned by the guy at the marina, listen to me and remember to take him a Snickers bar. Snickers..trust me! Otherwise, you will get a very obstinate, obnoxiously rude, and cranky fellow who will put a severe damper on your day.Have Fun Catching!!
