About this property

NEW-walk to town-climatisé-terrasse-pets-parking-calm

The house consists of 2 bedrooms (one with 160 cm bed, other with 2 80 cm beds that can be made as 160cm), an open plan bright air-conditioned living room / fully new equipped kitchen (refrigerator / freezer, oven, induction cooktop, dishwasher), a shower room (with toilet), a separate WC and a laundry room with a washer / dryer. The living room has a convertible sofa to accommodate 6 people staying at the house.

Outside there is a private terrace with a dining table and a plancha. Relax and enjoy the view of the mountains (called Arronomendi in Basque and Mondarrain in French) from the terrace dining table or garden lounge chairs.

In the backyard there is a gate for quick access to the village via the lavoir path over the bridge.

PRIVATE PARKING is available on the driveway in front of the house.

Other things to note

You will have the convenience of the calm area that is only a 5-minute walk over the foot bridge behind the house to the center of Espelette.

Espelette is centrally located as a base for exploring Basque Country. Cambo Les Bains with famous spas and Arnaga the house of Edmond Rostand (the author of Cyrano de Bergerac) is 10 minutes in one direction. In another direction, Dantxaria, Spain, with discount shopping is just 10 minutes. Or you can enjoy the beaches and towns of Biarritz, Anglet and St Jean de Luz which are just 30 minutes away. The gourmet capital of San Sebastian, Spain is an hour away. There are many wonderful windy country roads where you pass wild horses called Pottoka, lots of sheep and cows and of course, growing piment d’Espelette!

Très bien situé et calme

Logement très bien situé dans Espelette. Au calme par rapport à toute l'activité touristique mais à proximité des commerces. Beaucoup d'activités aux alentours qui mériteraient de revenir! Rencontre avec les propriétaires très accueillants.

We started out by renting out our second bedroom in the NYC apartment we shared.

We currently have 2 vacation rental homes in the Hamptons and an enclave with 4 properties and another house in France’s Basque Country.

Joop grew up in Holland but moved to London and then Biarritz France before settling in the US 20 years ago. Sharon grew up on Long Island and lived in NYC for 25 years before moving to more natural environments.

She has a psychology and anthropology degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Creative Studies from the State University of New York.
Joop has a degree in life experience with decades of worldwide adventures. We both believe in having fun and interesting things will follow.
