Family trip

We really enjoyed the private pool in the backyard as well as sitting on the front porch while listening to music in the park across the street. Great location with short walks to restaurants on Main Street.

High Expectations Exceeded

Every room of the historic home, its grounds and pool, physical location across from the harbor, and the very short walk to lovely downtown Northport's dining and entertainment (we saw a wonderful Broadway-style show) provided the "magic" we needed for our first ever visit to Long Island.

Awesome!

From the moment we stepped into the home, we knew we would love it. A Victorian mansion that takes one back to the 19th Century — with modern amenities, but without taking away anything away from the original character of the home. The owners filled the home with books and paintings. Sun-splashed unit with a garden, backyard, and swimming pool to match the interior in style and quality. Location is unbeatable. It is just steps away from everything in a small town, including the Village Park and a sailing dock. Communication with the owners was excellent. We hope to return soon!

Captain’s House

Beautiful very old house in a wonderful location. The size of the property was wonderful. The pool in the yard was beautiful. Several other issues presented smaller problems for us. TV was virtually unusable, We also could not operate the coffee pot that was there, and didn’t ask for some additional help other than the initial instructions. There was no central air conditioning, but window units in each bedroom, which were noisy and had filter issues. I was not very happy with the cleanliness of the property. I hope they will take care of that for future guests.

Thank you for positive your feedback, very pleased to hear you enjoyed the property/ We always provide our guests with a tour of the house upon arrival to ensure they understand how everything works and also make ourselves available anytime (call or text) for any questions during your stay as we understand every house has its own 'manual' Since we didn't hear from you the day prior to check out we assumed everything was fine. Totally understand each person has their own comfort levels when it comes to new technology (T.V) kitchen appliances (Nespresso machine) and using the AC units to meet your comfort levels (all units are brand new) The house is a historical home built in 1860, it is maintained at a high level. Heritage homes can show the mark of time that requires our attention & upkeep with our team of cleaners and handymen. We always strive to ensure our guests enjoy their stay and the home can provide a positive memory. Kindest. Megan

Luxurious, relaxing retreat

We were so looking forward to our stay at the Historic Captains House and it did not disappoint! Checking in was easy and meeting the property manager Regina gave us a sense of the personal touch. She is very kind and very knowledgeable about the home and the area of Northport. I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out if we needed anything, which we didn’t. Our host Megan checked in to be sure we had all we needed and encouraged us to reach out as well. The grounds and the home were clean and the beds were super comfortable. The pool was amazing. We actually spent more time at the house than expected because we were so relaxed. The town itself was very homey and welcoming. Everyone was friendly. Great farmers market on Saturday and we were fortunate to be there for the towns first Pride festival which honestly put my hometowns to shame. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for comfort, luxury, beautiful art and that lovely small town feel. Hosts and manager get A++++++!

An absolutely perfect experience in Northport! The house is simply amazing - the pictures do not do it justice. A historic home with great views, expertly crafted interior with the vibe of an art gallery, and a pool/garden area(s) that will whisk away any stress from the travel. The owner was a true pleasure, extremely easy to work with and super responsive. We left our stay fully relaxed and, honestly, not wanting to leave. HIGHLY recommended.
