The pictures were a bit deceiving. There definitely were some beautiful parts of the cabin. I don't think it was checked over before we checked in as there were mouse traps and mouse droppings in a bedroom that we decided not to use because of it. We did have a little visitor the first night. A mouse came out of the bedroom that had the droppings. So we were glad we didn't use it. Cleanliness wasnt awful but definitely a problem.

This cabin was completely unsanitary. There were mice, mice feces and flies everywhere. We had to buy mouse traps and ended up catching 7 mice during the first 12 hours and 2 more mice during the rest of our stay. There was mouse poop everywhere including the closets and drawers in the bedrooms and kitchen, in the pots and pans and silverware drawer. We had to buy paper products because we could not use anything in the kitchen since there was mouse poop everywhere. The owner did refund 1/4 of our price but even with that discount, the property was not worth the price.

Great place for our family vacation. Just far enough out of town to enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods but close enough to Lead and Deadwood to go enjoy activities and food. The cabin could use some upgrades and a deep cleaning, but other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

The cabin had plenty of space for an extended family getaway. It easily fit 8 adults and 2 children. The area is gorgeous and we very much enjoyed time out on the deck. The house could use some maintenance work and some deep cleaning. We felt like we could not use the hot tub due to the appearance of the water. There was also an instance where two mice were on a glue trap at the bottom of the stairs. My partner had to put it outside, but it was hard to see. The house did not have everything as listed. For example, no Amazon fire sticks on tvs or hair dryer. Overall, we had a good time, but the house could use some work. It has a lot of potential with some maintenance.

Relaxing getaway and great homebase for travel

We wanted a relaxing and cozy cabin feel, and we wanted it to be central to locations we wanted to visit, including Mount Rushmore and Devil’s Tower. This was the perfect place for us! Plenty of comfy beds, everything we needed and more! Communications with the owner were quick and easy. Highly recommended if you want a stay in the Black Hills.
