Hummingbird Haven!!

Not only is the location less than 15 mins from the airport, but once you are there, it seems like you are the master of your own tropical paradise. There is a fountain here that hummingbirds play in all day and the house has a cozy feel while wide open to the beautiful surroundings. We fell in love with this home and the island and hope to return again!

Treetops - a private paradise

Treetops is a beautiful small, private compound built on a tropical hillside. Lush forest and tropical flowers are everywhere. The furnishings offered everything we needed - so comfortable, and artistically done - such a pleasure to experience. The bedrooms separated by breezeways were great for our group. We loved the plunge pool, the hummingbirds and the private white sand beach just down the hill. Mostly, just being together with friends in such a private bit of paradise was so memorable.

The house is one of a kind, truly the cherry on top of our adventures on Roatán. The design of the home is spectacular, but it’s tons of little touches like the plant cutting arrangements or perfect art and furniture that add even more to it. The views off of every room and balcony are spectacular even in the rain, but the stars on a clear night in the tower are breath taking.You really are in nature, there is the cutest little family of Agouti hanging out under the porch that our whole family, especially the kids had a great time trying to find and watch. Cool geckos and other lizards we didn’t see anywhere else (and we want from one end of the islands to the other by both car and boat). The pool was perfect for our recharge day, but I think the house does a perfect job of fitting in with the spirit of Roatan.I do recommend renting a 4 wheel drive or at least an SUV/Truck vehicle because the road to get to the house is muddy when it rains and has plenty of interesting bumps and turns and some decent hill climbs to get in and out but we really got a kick out of that, and it’s the same when you are trying to get out to east bay anyway. Ken the driver was also amazing when a few of us took the car out to go on a fishing day with Perry (local fly fishing expert) and the rest of the family learned about the island and the people with Ken while visiting west end.Overall definitely recommended for a memorable island adventure with a large group, kids and adults alike.

Why they chose this property

Out of everyplace we have ever traveled or lived, Treetops holds a special place in our heart like no other. Whether it's the gorgeous smell of jasmine mixed with the scent of the sea as you walk through the gates or the hummingbirds playfully splashing in the fountain outside the dining-room, we were just taken immediately by this magical spot and the kind welcoming community of Roatan.

What makes this property unique

It's literally a one-of-a kind paradise build by famed architect Hal Sorentti that makes you feel as if you're living in the clouds. The breezeways and balconies create a seamless magical indoor/outdoor experience which is a smorgasbord for the senses.
