Living spaces
The main living area centers around a rustic fireplace, farmhouse‑inspired wood beams, and a Smart TV. The open kitchen offers ample counter space, a full set of appliances, and an island bar. A large dining table invites everyone to share meals and stories after a day on the trails.
Outdoor living
Beyond the hot tub and fire pit, you’ll find a covered porch, a screened porch, and the wraparound deck—each a perfect spot for sunrise coffee, afternoon reading, or evening grilling when the weather allows. The grill is ready for use, and the surrounding woods provide a quiet backdrop for any season.

The cabin welcomes dogs, making it a family‑ and dog‑friendly getaway. Cats are not allowed due to allergies.
A note on nature
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but you may still notice leaves, pollen, or other natural traces—especially in spring. We appreciate your understanding as the mountain setting leaves its gentle mark.

Overall, a good place to stay if you're looking for remote and private. There's a few things that needs work. Fire pit is nice in the evenings. If you're going and planning on cooking, take a decent size cutting board. There is only a very small one available. Property manager is very good with communication.

Not as expected
House was okay but didn’t really make for an enjoyable trip. The cleanliness of the house left a lot to be desired. The hot tub was very dirty and had a green foam on the top. The fire pit out back was full of trash as well as the yard around it.

Not recommended
When we arrived the place was messy and there was dog poop on the floor. The microwave didn't work and the internet was out. We were woken up in the mornings by some critter in the walls. Wouldn't recommend. I asked the owner to try the place one more time at a discounted rate to see if it improved but was told no because its a popular place.
It serves its purpose, but we didn't really enjoy our stay. Overall cleanliness wasn't very good and the hot tub was filled with foam (which the property manager insisted was normal). Some things in the house manual didn't make sense. It also wasn't disclosed that the basement doors that lead to the lower patio/hot tub area are held closed by a wooden board (didn't seem very safe to us). Personally wouldn't choose this place again.

I was very very dissapointed. It was important to stay at a cabin that had a fireplace and a hot tub...the cabin being clean and having adequate heat, should be a given! We were told on day 2 of our 3rd day there, they finally sent somebody out to fix the hot tub and we at the pellet fireplace has been broken and parts were on order. There was no heat in one bedroom and in mine, once it heated up, it smelled of strong dog feces, as though imbedded in the cracks of the tiles and I felt nauseous. I took a hot towel and tried cleaning my bedroom floor which seemed to stir up the feces even more. The LR couch was filthy and stained and made you feel yucky to sit on. The kitchen wasn't adequately equipped, no simple spatula, pans burnt beyond being able to be used and teflon scratched off other pans, which is dangerous to use. I went into town and had to buy pans and spatulas. After telling the owners all of this they offered me an insultingly low refund, which I feel my refund, being VERY generous, should have been no less than 50% of what I paid. I would have honestly rather had relaxed and stayed home, instead of being there. Had I been informed I would have no fireplace and basically no hot tub, I would NOT have rented this cabin.

The stay wasn't so bad. Had a few issues but could overlook most. We texted and ask if we could check in about 20 minutes early and was told that was no problem. We got there at 3:55 but the cleaners were still there. We waited outside but they invited us in while they finished up. Very sweet women. Once again this was not a big deal at all. Definitely want a clean cabin! They make it clear you will be charged a fee for late check out but they don't offer to make any adjustments for you for the fact the cabin was not ready for check in. We also rented this place because it's secluded. I have a 6 year old autistic daughter who is super loud and an eloper so I definitely was searching for something secluded and found this place (wanted it to where if she escaped there wouldn't be traffic). The third day there, we were gone all day and when we returned that night about 5 I received a texted 30 minutes later about a noise complaint. The listing says secluded and I get it's in a secluded area but they need to be specific there is two houses right beside it. After receiving the complaint we no longer enjoyed our stay. We felt like we were walking on egg shells. We tried to stay gone the whole next day but out all day with children is tiring especially doing it the day before all day as well. Will not book this cabin again. I will say the host was very responsive to all text and emails.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Mountain Maple cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
