A wrap-around deck faces south, east and north, providing a sheltered location for almost any wind direction. A propane BBQ is available on the deck as are tables and chairs. Stairs go down from the deck to a protected patio which is the most sheltered outdoor place to be if there is any wind. The propane firepit provides warmth on cool evenings and is a wonderful place around which to enjoy a glass of wine.
The house is setback about 100 feet from the cliff edge. Guests (please be careful!) are able to walk to the cliff edge and have 180 degree views up and down the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Three separate garden areas provide color almost year-round, and if you are lucky, you might find some blueberries, huckleberries or strawberries to nibble on. The lavender blooms from July through October. Much of the property is covered in Douglas fir forest with salal providing ground cover.
Guests have access to the entire house and 5-acre property with the exception of 3 closets in the basement where the owners have stored their personal possessions.
The property has over 300 feet of high bluff waterfront. The bluff is 240 feet high with sheer cliffs to the water and rocks below, providing stunning views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Victoria and Canada.
