This was just what we were looking for- a cabin in the mountains!!!! It is a beautiful, rustic cabin that brought back many memories!! We enjoyed every minute!!! I wish we could have stayed longer. MA Duke
This cabin was every bit of perfect. So close to downtown, so much charm, and was just a delight to stay in. The host communication was 12/10. They even left some flowers and balloons for my wife, as this was a trip for her 30th birthday. I couldn't recommend staying here more.
If you are looking for somewhere quiet and secluded, but a quick drive into Highlands village, this was a great location. The cabin is very quaint with beautiful vintage furnishings. My husband and I went for a long weekend to attend a wedding. It was perfect for us, and if there was a full bath upstairs is would be great for 2 couples or a family. We did have an issue with internet satellite service which was spotty in the area, but the owner was an excellent communicator and did her best to facilitate the problem.
Great time and wonderful location. Quiet...15-minute walk to town...we saw bear from the back patio. Owner is very responsive and accommodating. An upstairs shower would be a game-changer.

Agree! Would love an upstairs shower- looking into it
Authentic cabin in wooded lot. Well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Very comfortable stay at such a neat property
Comfy beds and plenty of towels.
Loved the antique pieces of furniture and wood burning fireplace.
Thank you for sharing your home We loved our stay.
This property was minutes away from town. It is very Rustic, quiet, bedding was very comfy and a nice bottle of wine was waiting for us when we arrived. We wanted something different for a change.
Everything about this cabin was quaint and great! The WiFi was very slow and you don’t have much service but it’s nice to unplug a little and enjoy the outdoors! Highly recommend!
We have been home three days and we are already thinking about when we can book another stay at Tripps Cabin. The cabin was just like it was pictured - rustic but will all the comforts you need and in a beautiful and private forest setting. And very close to the downtown shops and restaurants. The owner was very responsive and provided some great info and recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
The weekend stay was just what I needed. Peaceful, secluded, the sounds of nature, the babbling of a creek, and wildlife visitors. All this and only 10 minutes to the town of Highlands. We’ll be back!
We all enjoyed this. Feels exactly like a mountain getaway. The decor and cabin itself are very rustic but has everything you need/want. Beds were super comfy. Kids loved the cabin and the meadow out back. It was perfect for us. Would recommend and would book again.
Tripp's cabin was a lovely, authentic log cabin in the beautiful town of Highlands. The location is fabulous and we loved the privacy of the cabin. We even walked to town one day and enjoyed being very close to town. Carolina was very helpful and fast to respond to our questions.
Tripp's Cabin was such a delight and an amazing place to stay! It reminded me of being at Camp Greystone again which isn't too far from the Highlands. It was so easy to get to and super close to town!! Me and my fiance absolutely loved it and enjoyed getting out of town amidst wedding planning. It was so sweet of Carolina as well to have a branded bottle of wine waiting for us. Carolina also had recommendations for us in terms of where to go for food and drink. I would 10/10 recommend the cabin and look forward to coming back again soon!
We love Highlands, and Tripp’s Cabin was great! It is a really cool log cabin close to town but very secluded. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and plenty of nice towels. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and utensils and even Trader Joe’s spices and Keurig coffee pods. The house is beautifully decorated and so cozy. We loved sitting on the porches listening to the birds and watching the fireflies! Highly recommend!
If you are looking for a hidden away cabin that is still only minutes from downtown, this is it! Enchanting is the only way to describe Tripps.
(Be aware there is no AC in the upstairs bedrooms. Opening the windows was fine for us but if AC is a must, skip this spot.)
This is an adorable cabin in the woods. It’s very quaint and cozy. House is roomier than appears and is very well stocked with all you could need. Plenty of towels, bedding, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. Our stay was in July and it was hot. The house has one window unit down stairs in the master bedroom and a portable a/c unit upstairs. This does not cool the house well at all. It was comfortable for sleeping but nothing else. The house was very hot during the day and evening time. I am quite sure 9 months of the year it’s very comfortable but I do not recommend a summer stay for this reason. The WiFi never worked for us even though we were connected. We had little to no cell signal. We were unable to use the tvs because of this but there were plenty of tvs for use. If WiFi is a must for you then this will not be good fit for you. If you want to be unplugged then the location would be ideal. There is one shower as described. With seven of us, we all showered nightly but never once ran out of warm water.
