I was in the area for work, and the place was a great find. A little large for one person, but a great find for a last minute booking.

First of all trouble getting into the property with the code host provided.Reached out to host. He is very helpful and explained about keypad sensitivity. As soon as we enter, we felt really old smell. House was perfect for our group. How ever multiple charges were added later on. Next biggest thing was property is next to Hwy 26 and it is very noisy to sleep and there no window coverings. Couple of door knobs not functioning. There is no garbage disposal under the kitchen sink, multiple times clogged. Host was very prompt to respond to any of our questions. That is the only thing to give 3 star rating otherwise my rating would be 2.

Hi Srihari,
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, we do have very real expenses when our housekeeper must wait an extra hour for a group to check out. We love to provide late checkouts whenever possible, but as stated and posted we need to arrange those in advance.
very clean and neat; very close to freeway access to Mt Hood, only about 30 min drive; kitchen well stocked; beds were comfortable; we all enjoyed the game room and the hot tub! Communication w/ the owner was very prompt and helpful.
Great spacious cabin near Sandy, Mt Hood and the Gorge. Four nice bedrooms, great lr/dr and game room w pool table, ping pong and shuffleboard was excellent.

Had a pleasant weekend away with family, (a group of 8) lots of space for everyone here.We were let down by a few things…the hot tub was unplugged and very cold which made people really bummed, as it was major selling point for us choosing this home. Thankfully by night two it was warm enough. Using the electric fireplace in the living room kept causing a breaker to blow and there were no pellets to give the option of using the pellet stove instead. When trying to cook there were practically no measuring cups/spoons…just odd. No basic salt/pepper.No propane in the tanks to use the outdoor fireplace or bbq. Down stairs shower was a scalding 115degrees and no way to adjust the temp. 10AM felt very early to checkout while required to have beds stripped and dishwasher loaded and running. We still enjoyed other amenities such as shuffle board and ping pong and had a great time hanging out with family.
The house was gorgeous and offered a ton of space. We enjoyed all the amenities and appreciated how easy everything in the house was to operate.
Location was great for being able to go into towns or find a good spot for a meal. Overall a great stay at a lovely cabin.

Thanks again, Yasmin. We would love to welcome you back!
We came to hang out with family that live in Portland. This place was awesome. Felt at home and cozy. Beautiful trees. We used the game room a lot and it was a plus! The town of Sandy has lots of stores, had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again.
We had a wonderful one week stay at The Alder Lodge. The home was welcoming, cozy and clean, beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room for our family. We had everything we needed. We enjoyed the game room and hot tub. Location was perfect as a base for us to explore the beautiful area, including Portland, Mt. Hood, Columbia River Gorge; we also took a longer drive to Cannon Beach/Haystack Rock, which we highly recommend. Sandy is a nice town with options for dining and groceries. We also liked the deck out back with gas fire pit, surrounded by beautiful trees/forest. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Our week went by too quickly, there's so much more to see and do there. We hope to come back someday!
My friends and I enjoyed the property very much, we chose this lovely spot as our yearly vacation, it was decently close to Mount Hood, close to the highway but unless you had the windows open late at night you couldn’t even tell it was there. Lots of amenities, plenty of things to do there to kill time, and the hosts were lovely and responded to everything so fast and were so thoughtful. I’d highly recommend for groups of 8-12 (if you’re okay with sharing a bed or two).
Overall a wonderful trip! The house was clean and as advertised. Everyone really enjoyed the game room, the beds and couches were comfortable. The only downside was how close the house was to the road, so traffic noise was present, but not unbearable. The kitchen was small, very small fridge and dishwasher for the amount of people, but still functional. We have stayed at many rentals near Mt.Hood and this has been our favorite so far, we will definitely be back!
Our extended family likes to gather a week or so before Christmas so that they can celebrate with us and still have actual Christmas with their other families as well. This property was perfect. 4 bedrooms was perfect for 7 adults, two children, one infant and 2 dogs.. not to mention the pool table, ping pong table, shuffle board and hot tub!!! It was perfect for us.
We packed four households/ three generations into one place for days and it was great. Roomy and cozy all at the same time. Loved it. Definitely a repeat when in the area again

Thanks again Rachael! We have found a special niche with both large families or groups of friends to enjoy Mt. Hood. We would love to have you back soon.
We stayed at this cabin while spending time with our son, his wife and our two grandparents.Lots of space inside. The three bedrooms upstairs were perfect for all of us.Well stocked kitchen, laundry room and lots of towels. The downstairs had another bedroom with a full bathroom,as well as, a second living room/game room. The kids loved having this area as their own.The jacuzzi tub out the back door was used a lot.The owners were very easy to communicate with and always professional in any questions that we had. There are so many pluses to this house that this review could go on for a while.Thank you Ryan for this beautiful home. The kids loved The Trout Farm this directly across on Hwy. 26.
A large home, suitable for extended families or groups with kids (very kid friendly – there were toys, and they even provided a baby gate that we could put in place at the top of the stairs). The house was clean, and the hot tub was great (although it’s located outside - not indoors as indicated in the photo), the beds were super comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the game room was awesome. The only drawbacks are the traffic noise from Hwy 26 right out front and it was hard to keep the house warm despite cranking the heat and the pellet stove.
The place was great overall; we really enjoyed our stay. The communication with the hosts was very welcoming. The air hockey, shuffleboard, hot tub, and record player were a hit with the kids, and there were very comfortable sleeping arrangements for our group of 9. The location was convenient (traffic notwithstanding). There were white noise machines provided in each room to help with any traffic noise, and blinds to help with any lights from Hwy 26. For the price, though, there were a few very minor things that would have bumped our rating from 4 stars to 5:- The blinds were broken (on the floor) in one of the rooms. We contacted the hosts, and they apologized, indicating that there wasn't time to fix it between rentals, which is understandable. We were able to jerry-rig the blinds, so this was fine. - In the downstairs shower, the temperature knob was partly broken (the part of the handle that sticks out and gives purchase for turning). It still worked, but required more force, so the kids weren't able to adjust the shower temperature, needing adult assistance. - The pictures show a ping-pong table (a tabletop that can go over the air hockey table), but the tabletop was in the garage and broken. - There was a mouse caught in a sticky trap on the 2nd day of our stay. We didn't see any other evidence of mice (and they didn't into our food, thankfully). - Given that the place can accommodate large groups, it would have been nice for the dining table to be larger.
